Continuous real-time estimating of compaction quality during the construction of a hot mix asphalt (HMA) pavement is addressed in this paper. The densification of asphalt pavements during construction usually is accomplished by using vibratory compactors. During compaction, the compactor and the asphalt mat form a coupled system whose dynamics are influenced by the changing stiffness of the mat. The measured vibrations of the compactor along with process parameters such as lift thickness, mix type, mix temperature, and compaction pressure can be used to predict the asphalt mat density. Contrary to existing techniques in the literature in which a model is developed to fit experimental data and to predict mat density, a neural network-based approach is adopted that is model-free and uses pattern-recognition techniques to estimate density. The neural network is designed to read the entire frequency spectrum of roller vibrations and to classify these vibrations into different levels. The intelligent asphalt compaction analyzer (IACA) is then trained to convert these vibration levels into a “number” indicative of the asphalt mat density at a given location. This two-step process eliminates the need for regression analysis and produces more accurate density measurements than those reported elsewhere in the literature. Compaction studies of HMA mixes on a stiff subgrade indicate that the changes in the vibration characteristics of the roller are attributable to an increased compaction of the HMA base. The results also show that, with the neural network working as a classifier, the IACA can estimate the density continuously, and in real time, with accuracy levels adequate for quality control in the field.  相似文献

In this paper, a new robust problem is proposed for relay beamforming in relay system with stochastic perturbation on channels of multi user and relay network. The robust problem aims to minimize the transmission power of relay nodes while the imperfect channel information (CSI) injects stochastic channel uncertainties to the parameters of optimization problem. In the power minimization framework, the relays amplification weights and phases are optimized assuming the availability of Gaussian channel distribution. The power sum of all relays is minimized while the outage probability of the instantaneous capacity (or SINR) at each link is above the outage capacity (or SINR) for each user. The robust problem is a nonconvex SDP problem with Rank constraint. Due to the nonconvexity of the original problem, three suboptimal problems are proposed. Simulation and numerical results are presented to compare the performance of the three proposed solutions with the existing worst case robust method.  相似文献

Ta-doped 0.99Bi0.5(Na0.82K0.18)0.5TiO3–0.01LiSbO3 (BNKTT–LS) ceramics were prepared through a conventional mixed oxide solid-state sintering route. Partial substitution of Ta for Ti decreased the dielectric constant and depolarization temperature. The dielectric curves, polarization and strain hysteresis loops demonstrated that the incorporation of Ta stabilized the canonical relaxor phase of BNKT–LS ceramics leading to the degradation of piezoelectric and ferroelectric responses. The destabilization of field-induced ferroelectric order at x = 0.013 was accompanied by substantial enhancement in strain level. A unipolar field-induced strain of 0.39 % with a normalized strain (S max/E max =  $ d_{33}^{*} $ ) of 650 pm/V was achieved at a driving field of 6 kV/mm. The observed large strain can be attributed to the non-ergodic relaxor phase at zero electric field that transformed into an ergodic relaxor phase under the influence of the applied electric field.  相似文献

Internationalization of universities has become a worldwide phenomenon as global economic integration continues to make its way forcefully into the higher education. The objective of the study is to develop a model for internationalization of universities with the transformation of some promising macroeconomic variables i.e., educational reforms and economic growth in the seven largest regions of the world [namely, East Asia and Pacific (sample 25 countries); Europe and Central Asia (40 countries); Latin America and Caribbean (27 countries); Middle East and North Africa (17 countries); North America (22 countries); South Asia (7 countries) and Sub-Saharan Africa (21 countries)]. The data has been analyzed by panel fixed effect regression from the period of 1990–2011. In addition to transform inputs into output, the study employed eleven indicators of education and five indicators for growth, where the resulting vector is internationalization. The results show the dynamic linkages between educational indicators and economic factors in the selected regions of the World. In East Asia and Pacific region, tertiary and higher education expenditures per student increase the economic factors. Higher education is a powerful driver of long-term growth in Europe and Central Asia. Governments of the state should have to focus on higher education enrolment, as it does not have any significant contribution to increase GDP; gross capital formation and FDI in Latin America and Caribbean region. Higher education enrolment in MENA region significantly increases growth factors on the cost of increase gross national expenditures. Investment in general education and other generic human capital is of the utmost importance in creating an enabling environment for FDI in North America. It is imperative for South Asia to encourage the skill levels and education opportunities for females, in order to maximize the effects of FDI on the female human capital stock and therefore economic growth. Tertiary school enrolment and tertiary expenditures per student identified the importance of tertiary education in Sub-Saharan Africa. The results conclude that educational indicators improve the economic gains, which ultimately reap out the benefit of internationalization.  相似文献

The profile of major biogenic amines was investigated in Indian mackerel packed in modified atmosphere for up to 12 days at 5 ± 1°C. Beheaded and gutted Indian mackerel was packed under different carbon dioxide compositions to study the effects on biogenic amines formation. The treatments were control air (C), vacuum packaging (VP), 30% CO2/65% N2/5% O2 (M30C), 60% CO2/35% N2/5% O2 (M60C), 80% CO2/15% N2/5% O2 (M80C) and 100% CO2 (M100C). Each amine responded differently to different CO2 levels. After 12 days of storage, concentrations of histamine were reduced by 6.4%, 8.5%, 70.3%, 78.8% and 90.2% in fish packed under VP, M30C, M60C, M80C and M100C, respectively as compared with control air. Changes in putrescine and cadaverine showed a similar pattern. Gas mix of M30C and VP stimulated the formation of tyramine reaching 203 and 172 ppm, respectively. Higher composition of CO2 had a significant inhibitory effect on tyramine concentration (p < 0.05). There were parallel increases of putrescine and spermidine in C, VP and M30C. No significant effect of CO2 was observed on spermine (p > 0.05). After 9 days of storage, more than 300 ppm of histamine was detected in mackerel packed in VP and M30C; therefore, these atmospheres pose a histamine intoxication risk. A new modification of Cu4I4Pip4 has been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. X-ray crystallography revealed that this compound crystallized in the monoclinic system and consists of a tetrahedral core with composition Cu4I4, in which each Cu atom is coordinated by a piperidine molecule via the N atom. In contrast to a previously reported modification of Cu4I4Pip4, the present modification shows luminescent properties when exposed to UV-light. In addition, we have used time-dependent density functional theory calculations to characterize both compounds in term of both absorption and emission.  相似文献

A wide variety of environmental factors including physical and biochemical signals are responsible for stem cell behavior and function. In particular, matrix elasticity and cell shape have been shown to determine stem cell function, yet little is known about the interplay between how these physical cues control cell differentiation. For the first time, by using ultraviolet (UV) lithography to pattern poly(ethylene) glycol (PEG) hydrogels, it is possible to manufacture microenvironments capable of parsing the effects of matrix elasticity, cell shape, and cell size in order to explore the relationship between matrix elasticity and cell shape in mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) lineage commitment. These data show that cells cultured on 1000 μm2 circles, squares, and rectangles are primarily adipogenic lineage regardless of matrix elasticity, while cells cultured on 2500 and 5000 μm2 shapes more heavily depend on shape and elasticity for lineage specification. It is further characterized how modifying the cell cytoskeleton through pharmacological inhibitors can modify cell behavior. By showing MSC lineage commitment relationships due to physical signals, this study highlights the importance of cell shape and matrix elasticity in further understanding stem cell behavior for future tissue engineering strategies.  相似文献

This paper presents a set of simple empirical equations for natural air flow solar drying of rough rice in mixed-mode type dryer, box-type dryer and open floor drying system. The moisture contents predicted by the equations were in good agreement with the observed values. The effect of drying air temperature on the drying rate constants for these three cases were found to be insignificant. The equilibrium moisture content appeared to be the most important variable controlling the drying rate. The highest drying rate was observed in case of mixed-mode dryer. The drying rate of box dryer was next to that of mixed-mode dryer. This study shows that the introduction of solar dryer for drying of rough rice is highly recommendable in Bangladesh.  相似文献

In this article, a powder‐bed class of additive manufacturing (AM) is incorporated into the manufacturing of graphene nanocomposite 3D structures. For AM of graphene‐based 3D structures, graphene oxide (GO)/hydroxyapatite (Hap) nanocomposite (GHN) was synthesized at different GO to Hap percentage (wt.%), including 0.2% and 0.4% to develop a printable powder. The synthesized powder was utilized in a powder‐bed AM system to fabricate 3D porous structures of GHN powder. It was shown that at layer thickness of 125 μm and core binder saturation level of 400%, the compressive mechanical strength of the samples with higher content of graphene was improved significantly.  相似文献
