The construction industry is currently undergoing digital transformation due to emerging technologies. Hence new forms of organisation are needed. Collaborating with Building Information Modelling (BIM) is complex and challenges the management of projects. The ubiquitous digital information sharing among multi-disciplinary actors in BIM-based projects, activates dense inter-organisational processes. This study offers insights into collaboration with BIM, through the theoretical lens of boundaries. By analysing two projects of BIM-based collaboration in the Netherlands, the interplay between structure and agency of collaboration was discussed. The various artefacts of BIM, as boundary objects were interpreted in multiple ways by different communities of practice and this resulted in poor communication and consequently poor collaboration. The findings challenge the prevalent view of BIM as a software artefact and showed that this view only partially supports collaboration. Additionally, a structurational view (enabled by communication, conflict management, negotiation, and teamwork) as opposed to a structural view of collaboration (e.g. BIM as a software) can fully support the implementation of digital innovations. Finally, the paper revealed a ‘tactical gap’ in the implementation of digital between strategic and operational decision-making needs fine-tuning to ensure better collaboration in projects where digital innovations are adopted. The study concludes with propositions for supporting organisation of teams through integration of activities and the management of BIM-based collaboration in projects beyond merely structural and technological approaches, which dominate the field but from a structurational view instead.  相似文献

The present work presents a prototype apparatus developed for a novel method based on capillary penetration for the determination of frying oil quality and examines the method and the performance of the prototype. The work further assesses the method results in comparison with the results of established methods and proposes equations for calculating frying oil quality parameters relevant to legislation criteria. The examination of the method is performed by using 184 oil samples produced by frying different foods in different oils for forty-five successive batches. Equations relating the method output with the total polar compounds, total polymers and viscosity are proposed. High correlation coefficients between legislation criteria and the method result are obtained: R2 = 0.96, R2 = 0.91 and R2 = 0.86 for correlation with the oil viscosity, the polymer compounds and the TPC of the fried oils, respectively. The false-positive and false-negative answers of the method are below 2.5% for all cases.  相似文献

Interspecies and intraspecies variation in the use of wooded habitats has been studied for salmonids, but little is known about nonsalmonid species. In this study, we explored spatiotemporal differences in the distribution of three cyprinid species at habitats of varying wood density and at habitats of varying heterogeneity in a Mediterranean intermittent river (Evrotas, southern Greece). Hydroecological data from 843 microhabitats across four sites and in five sampling periods were collected and analysed using generalized linear mixed effects models. Adult chubs, minnowroaches, and minnows and, to a lesser degree, juvenile chubs, preferred complex, wooded habitats, characterized by lower flow velocities, higher water depths, finer substrate, and increased canopy cover, compared with wood‐free and noncomplex habitats. At the advanced stage of the dry period, the deeper, wooded habitats served as drought refugia; all fish groups, except for the adult chub, resorted to these habitats during autumn. In contrast, no such shifts were evident in early summer at the onset of the dry period. In late spring, all fish groups had higher densities at wooded habitats, a shift probably associated with reproduction. Wood density did not affect fish habitat use, as fish densities were similar across wooded habitats. In contrast, habitat heterogeneity significantly affected fish densities; more adult chubs and minnows were observed in complex habitats, whereas juvenile chubs and minnowroaches clearly preferred less complex habitats. We conclude that the targeted maintenance of instream wood structures to ensure habitat heterogeneity is a key‐action for the successful conservation of riverine fish populations.  相似文献

Opaque mosaic glass tesserae containing calcium antimonates from Ancient Messene, Greece (1st–4th century CE) were investigated by scanning electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. Both trigonal CaSb2O6 and cubic Ca2Sb2O7, with crystallite diameters below 1?μm, were identified as opacifying agents. To better understand ancient technologies, we prepared model glasses that were opacified by crystallisation via a secondary heat treatment, by direct crystallisation during the melting process, or by the addition of pre-reacted calcium antimonate to a base glass. We found that direct crystallisation replicated the antique glass artefacts most accurately.We demonstrated that 0.2?wt% of nucleating agents like TiO2 and SnO2 already exert significant influence on the crystallisation behaviour of calcium antimonates. Secondary scattering centres such as silica and carbonates contribute to the optical appearance. Concurrently, we reproduced opaque white glass ceramics in a reconstructed, wood-fired, Roman-type glass furnace built by Wiesenberg (2014).  相似文献

This Special Issue is collecting papers pertaining to various lines of research focusing on the genetic basis and the epidemiology of myopathies. The Guest Editors’ note combines the contributing authors’ reviews and findings of relevant research, and we hope that future studies on myopathies will attempt to confirm these findings and, additionally, evaluate supplementary phenotypic and histological expressions of myopathies, as well as genetic factors in their pathogenesis.  相似文献

The cross-contamination of non-medicated feed with residues of antimicrobials causes an animal and public health concern associated with the potential for the selection and dissemination of resistance in commensal bacteria and potentially zoonotic bacteria. To identify the extent of this situation, we built a risk model that provides a way to estimate the percentage of cross-contaminated feed in total and at the different levels at which cross-contamination may occur (i.e. the feed mill, the transport truck, the farm), for different levels of antimicrobial medicated feed produced in a country per year. The model, estimated that when antimicrobial medicated feed represents a hypothetical xi = 2% of the total feed produced in a country per year, then 5.5% (95% CI = 3.4%; 11.4%) of the total feed produced in a year could be cross-contaminated with different levels of antimicrobials due to practices related to medicated feed. In detail, 1.80% (95% CI = 0.2%; 7.7%) of the total feed produced in such a country would be cross-contaminated due to antimicrobial carryover occurring at the feed mill level, 1.83% (95% CI = 1.3%; 2.0%) at the transport truck level and 1.84% (95% CI = 1.2%; 2.0%) at the farm level. The model also demonstrated that even in cases where antimicrobial medicated feed would be produced in end-of-line mixers or a fine dosing system on trucks, the risk of cross-contamination would not be negligible; the percentage of cross-contaminated feed produced in a country (where xi = 2%) per year would be 3.7% (95% CI = 2.9%; 4.0%) and 2.4% (95% CI = 1.6%; 2.7%), respectively. It is hard to reduce the risk to zero as it is the result of factors occurring at different levels. Thus, the use of antimicrobial medicated feed should be avoided as much as possible to reduce selection pressure.  相似文献

Water-glass, a low-cost silica precursor solution, is used to produce mostly skinned, polymer–silicate composite membranes with a porous bulk. We explore primarily Nylon 6-10/formic acid dopes where the polymer solvent is an acid, and polysulfone/DMF dope as an example of a polymer dope based on a non-acidic water-miscible solvent. Elemental distribution of silicon in cross sections suggests compositional uniformity of the formed membranes with in some cases 20 wt. % of silicate load. Membranes formed can be used either as separation media or as precursors for compact polymers reinforced with silicate particles.  相似文献

Haloacetic acids in drinking water in the United Kingdom   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4  
We measured concentrations of haloacetic acids (HAAs) in the water supply in regions covered by three water companies in the UK Approximately 30 samples in each region were obtained for analysis of both THMs and HAAs to assess the levels of HAAs and the relationship between HAAs and THMs, temperature, pH, free and total chlorine. We have found that there is a range of HAA levels in drinking water with the means ranging from 35-95mug/l and a maximum concentration of 244mug/l. In two out of the three regions there was a high correlation between total THMs and total HAAs, but whereas the HAA and THM levels in one of these companies were approximately equal, in another company the HAA levels were 3-4 times higher than the THM levels. In the third region there was no correlation between total THMs and total HAAs even though the average levels were approximately equal. The ratio of total THM and total HAAs levels was significantly correlated with temperature, pH, free and total chlorine. Overall total THM levels are therefore not considered to be a good indicator of HAA levels. Epidemiological studies using total THM levels should be taking this into account in the interpretation of their results, and regulatory authorities when setting water guidelines.  相似文献

An alternative flowchart for the biological removal of hydrogen sulfide from oil-refining wastewater is presented; autotrophic denitrification in a multi-stage treatment plant was utilized. A pilot-scale plant was fed with a mixture of the following constituents: (a) original wastewater from an oil refining industry (b), the effluent of the existing nitrification-stage treatment plant and (c) sulfide in the form of Na2S. Anoxic sulfide to sulfate oxidation, with nitrate as a terminal electron acceptor, proved very successful, as incoming concentrations of 110 mg S2-/L were totally converted to SO(4)2-. At complete denitrification, the concentration of S2- in the reactor effluent was less than 0.1mg/L. Fluctuating S2- concentration in the feed could be tolerated without any problems, as the accumulated sulfide in the effluent of the denitrification stage is oxidized aerobically in a subsequent activated-sludge treatment stage. This alternative new treatment scheme was further introduced at the refinery's wastewater processing plant. Thus, complete H2S removal is now accomplished by the combination of the proposed biological method and the existing stripping with CO2. As a result, stripping, and thus its cost, is reduced by 70%.  相似文献
