Poly(vinyl alcohol) has been functionalized with aldehydes in tetrahydrofuran (THF) with a good control of the grafting. A wide library of poly(vinyl acetals) could be obtained in order to study some structure/property correlations. The influence of the aldehyde nature on the functionalization rates has been studied, in particular for optical properties by measurement of the shininess for further applications in the cosmetic field. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The performance of chromatographic systems to mimic aquatic toxicity to the fathead minnow fish is evaluated taking into account the factors that contribute to the variance of biological-chromatographic correlations. These factors are the precision to measure the fathead minnow toxicity, the precision of the surrogate chromatographic system, and the error from the dissimilarity between the fathead minnow and chromatographic systems. The precisions are estimated through the characterization of the systems by the solvation parameter model. Several chromatographic systems as well as the common reference octanol-water partition system have been selected to test their ability to model the nonspecific toxicity to the fathead minnow by means of the proposed approach. Predictions and experimental tests show that the micellar electrokinetic chromatography system of sodium taurocholate and chromatographic measurements using an immobilized artificial membrane column provide the most precise estimations of this biopartitioning property. The octanol-water partition system, the conventional C18 high-performance liquid chromatography systems, and the micellar electrokinetic chromatography system of sodium dodecylsulfate show worse performances.  相似文献

Sixty-five 5-year old children participated in 4 experimental tasks of word learning that varied systematically in the amounts of phonological and nonphonological learning required. Measures of the children's performances on 2 measures of phonological memory (digit span and nonword repetition), vocabulary knowledge, and nonverbal ability were also obtained. Learning of the sound structures of new words was significantly, and to some degree independently, associated with aspects of both phonological memory skill and vocabulary knowledge. Learning of pairs of familiar words was linked with current vocabulary knowledge, although not with phonological memory scores. The findings suggest that both existing lexical knowledge and phonological short-term memory play significant roles in the long-term learning of the sounds of new words. Adiabatic quantum programming defines the time-dependent mapping of a quantum algorithm into an underlying hardware or logical fabric. An essential step is embedding problem-specific information into the quantum logical fabric. We present algorithms for embedding arbitrary instances of the adiabatic quantum optimization algorithm into a square lattice of specialized unit cells. These methods extend with fabric growth while scaling linearly in time and quadratically in footprint. We also provide methods for handling hard faults in the logical fabric without invoking approximations to the original problem and illustrate their versatility through numerical studies of embeddability versus fault rates in square lattices of complete bipartite unit cells. The studies show that these algorithms are more resilient to faulty fabrics than naive embedding approaches, a feature which should prove useful in benchmarking the adiabatic quantum optimization algorithm on existing faulty hardware.  相似文献

Some of the real-world problems are represented with just one label but many of today’s issues are currently being defined with multiple labels. This second group is important because multi-label classes provide a more global picture of the problem. From the study of the characteristics of the most influential systems in this area, MlKnn and RAkEL, we can observe that the main drawback of these specific systems is the time required. Therefore, the aim of the current paper is to develop a more efficient system in terms of computation without incurring accuracy loss. To meet this objective we propose MlCBR, a system for multi-label classification based on Case-Based Reasoning. The results obtained highlight the strong performance of our algorithm in comparison with previous benchmark methods in terms of accuracy rates and computational time reduction.  相似文献

Anxiety and eating disorders produce a physiological imbalance that triggers alterations in the abundance and composition of gut microbiota. Moreover, the gut–brain axis can be altered by several factors such as diet, lifestyle, infections, and antibiotic treatment. Diet alterations generate gut dysbiosis, which affects immune system responses, inflammation mechanisms, the intestinal permeability, as well as the production of short chain fatty acids and neurotransmitters by gut microbiota, which are essential to the correct function of neurological processes. Recent studies indicated that patients with generalized anxiety or eating disorders (anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge-eating disorders) show a specific profile of gut microbiota, and this imbalance can be partially restored after a single or multi-strain probiotic supplementation. Following the PRISMA methodology, the current review addresses the main microbial signatures observed in patients with generalized anxiety and/or eating disorders as well as the importance of probiotics as a preventive or a therapeutic tool in these pathologies.  相似文献

Kinetics of electron transfer of the Cu(I)/Cu(II) redox couple at a platinum electrode has been studied with chronoamperometry, cyclic voltammetry and impedance spectroscopy in a deep eutectic solvent consisting of choline chloride and ethylene glycol. At 25 °C, the reaction was found to be quasi-reversible with a relatively high rate constant k0 of 9.5 ± 2 × 10−4 cm s−1, and a charge transfer coefficient α of 0.25 ± 0.05. Diffusion coefficients for the Cu(I) and Cu(II) complexes were determined to be 2.7 ± 0.1 × 10−7 and 1.5 ± 0.1 × 10−7 cm2 s−1, respectively. The viscosity of the electrolyte was 41 ± 3 mPa s. The temperature dependency was also investigated. The activation energy of mass transfer was found to be 27.7 ± 1 kJ mol−1 and that of electron transfer 39 ± 7 kJ mol−1. Speciation of the Cu(I) and Cu(II) complexes was determined using UV–VIS spectroscopy, and the prevailing Cu(I) complex was found to be [CuCl3]2− and that of Cu(II) [CuCl4]2−.  相似文献

Glassy carbon electrodes were grafted with carboxyphenyl groups by reduction of 4-carboxyphenyldiazonium tetrafluoroborate and these modified electrodes were characterised by cyclic voltammetry and ac impedance measurements. Cu(II) was reacted with the carboxyphenyl groups in the film to give a surface voltammetric response for the immobilised Cu(II)/Cu(I) couple. The results indicated an ECEC mechanism, in which the chemical steps correspond to the change of coordination environment following the electron transfer steps. The relaxation half-life time for the Cu(I) species formed after electron transfer was estimated at (140 ± 11) s. The large value of the peak width of 200 mV was analysed by modelling the voltammograms and the large value of the full width at half maximum (FWHM) could be explained by dispersion in the formal potentials of Cu centres present in a variety of environments in the films studied. An ECEC mechanism (scheme of square) is proposed for the electron transfer reaction considering that the chemical step after reduction of the Cu(II) complex corresponds to conformational changes within the attached layer. Experimental data clearly show that the oxidation of the reduced film can take place from different Cu(I) complexes formed along the reduction to the fully relaxed Cu(I) species.  相似文献

The authors argue that human sequential learning is often but not always characterized by a shift from stimulus- to plan-based action control. To diagnose this shift, they manipulated the frequency of 1st-order transitions in a repeated manual left-right sequence, assuming that performance is sensitive to frequency-induced biases under stimulus- but not plan-based control. Indeed, frequency biases tended to disappear with practice, but only for explicit learners. This tendency was facilitated by visual-verbal target stimuli, response-contingent sounds, and intentional instructions and hampered by auditory (but not visual) noise. Findings are interpreted within an event-coding model of action control, which holds that plans for sequences of discrete actions are coded phonetically, integrating order and relative timing. The model distinguishes between plan acquisition, linked to explicit knowledge, and plan execution, linked to the action control mode.
