Nash equilibrium bidding strategies in a bilateral electricitymarket

This paper examines bidding strategies in a bilateral market in which generating companies submit bids to loads. A load accepts electricity delivery from the generator with the lowest bid at its bid price as long as this price is not higher than the load's willingness to pay. Necessary and sufficient conditions of Nash equilibrium (NE) bidding strategy are derived based on a generic generating cost matrix and the loads' willingness to pay vector. The study shows that in any NE, efficient allocation is achieved. Furthermore, all Nash equilibria are revenue equivalent for the generators. Based on the necessary and sufficient conditions, this problem is formulated as an optimal assignment problem. Network optimization techniques are applied to calculate NE bid prices for the generators     

TEM study of PLZT ceramics

The microscopic structures of PLZT(7.9/70/30 and x/65/35, x = 7 or 8) ceramics were studied by means of transmission electron microscopy. The presence of micro-regions in PLZTs was first verfied.

Effective single-band Hamiltonian for electron-phonon coupling in cuprate superconductors

We derive an effective single-band Hubbard type Hamiltonian for CuO₂ planes. The Hamiltonian includes both electron-electron repulsion and electron-phonon coupling to oxygen vibrational modes. We start with first-principles density functional theory parameters and then map onto a single-band model. Unlike previous mappings to a single-band Hamiltonian, ours explicitly preserves the Fermi surface shape and matrix elements of the many-band Hamiltonian. We consider both in-plane oxygen breathing modes as well as out-of-plane tilting modes. The latter modes have a quadratic electron-phonon coupling, and are also highly anharmonic in La₂CuO₄ based superconductors. The coupling to breathing modes is too small to account for highT _c, while the coupling to quadratic modes is much stronger even though they would be neglected in a standard Migdal-Eliashberg approach to superconductivity.     

土钉支护结构水平位移安全监控模型研究

国内现行规范、标准是以极限变形值作为土钉支护结构水平位移安全监测报警值 ,但没有反映工程进度影响 ,不便指导工程实践。提出“过程控制”概念 ,以反正切函数为基本形式 ,基于历史经验建立“安全时程曲线”控制模型 ,要求施工过程中实测水平位移始终处在“安全时程曲线”之下 ,以确保最终变形在某一适当的阈值之内 ,已有实测结果可以为施工方案调整提供依据。通过实际案例 ,检验模型的可行性 ,表明过程控制模型较极限变形策略更具可操作性     

Entity-relationship modeling

The entity-relationship (ER) model and its accompanying ER diagrams are widely used for database design and systems analysis. Many books and articles just provide a definition of each modeling component and give examples of the pre-built ER diagrams. As a result, beginners in data modeling have a great deal of difficulty learning how to approach a given problem, what questions to ask in order to build a model, what rules to use while constructing an ER diagram, and why one diagram is better than another. The authors present step-by-step guidelines, a set of decision rules proven to be useful in building ER diagrams, and a case study problem with a preferred answer as well as a set of incorrect diagrams for the problem. These guidelines and decision rules have been successfully used in their beginning database management system course
