In this research, the replacement effects of bioactive glass (BG) by nanocrystalline forsterite (NF) on the biomineralization, microstructural and mechanical properties of BG-based nanocomposites were investigated. The hybrid nanocomposites with different NF contents (0, 10, 20, and 30 wt%) were prepared from the nanopowders by means of conventional cold pressing method. Surprisingly, the addition of NF provided redundant mechanisms to improve the toughness of the BG matrix without deteriorating its biomineralization properties. In addition, the resulting enhancement in the fracture toughness, observed for the first time in highly bioactive BG/NF nanocomposites, indicated the potential of the prepared nanocomposites as advanced biomaterials for load-bearing bone tissue engineering applications.  相似文献

Al-Si3N4 couples were heat-treated at 850-1150°C for 250 hours. The thickness of the interacted area was measured by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and scanning/transmission electron microscopy (TEM/STEM). The interaction rate increases exponentially with inverse temperature, with an activation energy of 194.23 kJ/mol and diffusion pre-coefficient of 5 × 10−9 m2/s, indicating that the interaction is diffusion-dependent. As the results showed, the interfacial area is comprised of Al alloy channels, Si precipitates, and AlN grains. Al-Si transfer through the solid solution (Si3-xAlxN4-y) at the interface of Al alloy and β-Si3N4 grains controls the kinetic of the interaction. When concentration of Al in solid solution exceeds a certain amount, it undergoes a topotactic phase transformation to form Al1-xSixN1+y (viz., AlN). Next, the Al1-xSixN1+y grains detach from the β-Si3N4 grains and subsequently new Al-Si3N4 interfaces are established. These interfaces repeat the interaction process, continuing until all the reactant is depleted. Thus, the interaction kinetics consist of a sequence of associated parabolic stages, precluding the observation of parabolic kinetics.  相似文献

In the present work the effect of simultaneous doping of carbon and nickel on the microstructural, optical, and electrical properties of barium strontium titanate (BST) is investigated. Thin films of BST were prepared by the sol-gel method in six different compositions ((Ba0.6Sr0.4)(NixCyTi1-x-y)O3): x?=?y?=?0.00 (BST), x?=?0.04?y?=?0.00 (BST4N), x?=?0.04?y?=?0.01 (BST4N-1C), x?=?0.04?y?=?0.02 (BST4N-2C), x?=?0.04?y?=?0.03 (BST4N-3C), and x?=?y?=?0.04 (BST4N-4C). Structural features and chemical bonds of the films were studied by TGA/DSC, XRD, FT-IR, and FE-SEM. The electrical and optical properties of the films were analysed by impedance spectroscopy and UV–VIS spectroscopy. The results show that addition of Ni and C leads to Ti4+-Ni2+ and Ti4+-C4+ replacements, respectively. These replacements lead to a gradual increase in the band gap energy; from 3.15?eV for BST to 3.44, 3.5, 3.66, 3.73 and 3.76?eV for BST4N, BST4N-1C, BST4N-2C, BST4N-3C, and BST4N-4C, respectively. In contrast, the dielectric loss decreases significantly from 0.055 for BST to 0.031, 0.033, 0.03, 0.022 and 0.01 for BST4N, BST4N-1C, BST4N-2C, BST4N-3C, and BST4N-4C, respectively. At the same time, the quality factor Qf (1/ tanδ) increases substantially from 15 for BST to 32, 30, 33, 44 and 87 for BST4N, BST4N-1C, BST4N-2C, BST4N-3C, and BST4N-4C, respectively. In contrast, the frequency dependence of the capacity decreases in comparison to un-doped BST. Among all films, the BST4N-4C had the highest figure of merit (FOM), least dielectric loss, and very low frequency-dependence, making it the best candidate for tuneable device applications.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a new fault‐tolerant control system for a class of nonlinear systems with input constraints. Because of many important factors that stabilize a nonlinear model predictive controller, it can be used as a powerful controller in the event of fault occurrence. So, the reconfigurable controller is designed based on the quasi‐infinite model predictive control (QIMPC) approach as a fault‐tolerant approach. On the other hand, a fault detection and diagnosis (FDD) system is designed based on the multiple model method. The bank of extended Kalman filters (EKFs) is used to detect the predefined actuator fault and estimate the unknown parameters of a fault. When a fault is detected, the proposed FDD information is used to correct the model of the faulty system recursively and reconfigure the controller. Delay on FDD decision may lead to performance degradation or even instability for some systems. The timely proposed FDD approach will preserve stability. Moreover, a framework is presented to ensure stability when a fault occurs. The effectiveness of this method is demonstrated, in comparison with conventional nonlinear model predictive control, by two practical examples. © 2015 Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan. In this research, the possibility of simultaneous removal of lead, cadmium and copper divalent ions from water samples through the use of Sepia pharaonis endoskeleton powder (SPEB) as bio‐material, was investigated. The bio‐sorbent was characterised by Fourier transform infrared spectrum (FT‐IR), atomic force microscopy (AFM) and X‐ray fluorescence (XRF). The different factors affecting the bio‐sorption process were studied. Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models were applied to analyse the experimental data. The kinetic studies showed that the pseudo‐second order model kinetics were compatible with the investigated systems. It was found that under optimal conditions, this bio‐sorbent was efficient in the uptake of these heavy metal ions from both mono and multi‐metal solutions, and high removal percentages were achieved. This study verified the potential ability of SPEB as an efficient natural adsorbent for removal of Pb(II), Cd(II) and Cu(II) ions from river, tap and mineral water samples.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to determine and optimize culture media for Chlorella vulgaris microalgae under mixotrophic conditions using waste molasses as a cheap carbon source containing both organic carbons and other nutrients. In the current study, at first the growth and lipid productivity of C. vulgaris were assessed in different culture media and the best media was selected for mixotrophic growth conditions. Significant medium ingredients were screened through Plackett–Burman design. Then ingredients with positive effect were considered as a mixture component and their combinations were evaluated on lipid productivity using mixture design. According to results, Zarrouk medium was considered as the base medium with the highest biomass and lipid productivity of 72 and 7.1 mg L−1 d−1, respectively. Based on the Plackett–Burman design, out of 11 factors, molasses, NaNO3 and K2HPO4 demonstrated key roles in biomass and lipid productivity in mixotrophic conditions. Consequently, the selected three factors were investigated by mixture design. The results showed that high concentration of molasses causes decrease in biomass and lipid productivity due to high turbidity and a blend consisting of approximately 9.5 g L−1 molasses, 5 g L−1 NaNO3 and 0.15 g L−1 K2HPO4 was found as the optimum mixture with obtained lipid productivity of 115 mg L−1 d−1. In conclusion, waste molasses can be used as a promising feedstock for cost effective cultivation of C. vulgaris.  相似文献

Monolayers of methyl-undecanoate were constructed on silicon surfaces via a covalent Si-C bond. The molecular monolayers were characterized by high resolution electrical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and ellipsometry and displayed a densely packed monolayer. After formation of the monolayer, the methyl ester was hydrolyzed without noticeable change in the integrity of the monolayer. The carboxyl terminated organic layer was then reacted with (1-Ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl) carbodiimide and N-hydroxysuccinimide to form active N-hydroxy succinimide ester groups. The activation chemistry was confirmed by XPS and the substructure of the methyl-undecanoate carboxylic acid and the N-hydroxy succinimide ester terminated films were characterized using EIS. XPS and EIS spectra provided information on the chemical composition and substructure of the monolayers for each step in the chemical modification of the surface.  相似文献

Tractography is one of the most important applications of diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) which noninvasively reconstructs 3D trajectories of the white matter tracts. Because of the intravoxel orientation heterogeneity of DTI data, some of tractography algorithms are unable to follow the correct pathways after the crossing and branching regions. Front propagation techniques are efficient methods in tracking the crossing fibers. A key parameter influencing the performance of these algorithms is the cost function which is mainly based on the colinearity of tensors' eigenvectors. The effect of the eigenvalues on the anisotropy strength of tensor has not been previously addressed in the definition of the speed function. In this article, a new speed function, based on the effect of diffusion anisotropy and the colinearity of eigenvectors is proposed. The performance of the suggested method on fiber tracking and crossing fiber detection has been evaluated using synthetic datasets, and the feasibility of the proposed method was shown by fiber tracking implemented on real DTI data. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this paper, H controller synthesis of T-S fuzzy singularly perturbed systems based on fuzzy and non-fuzzy multiple Lyapunov functions is discussed. By assuming some lower bounds for the grades of fuzzy membership functions and using the elimination lemma, the design conditions are presented in the form of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Considering ε as the singular perturbation parameter, it is shown that the ε-dependent controller in the absence of disturbances, results in an asymptotically stable closed-loop system, and in the presence of disturbances, satisfies the H -norm condition for all ε∈(0,ε ?]. The resulting LMIs are feasible for larger values of ε ? compared to those of the previous methods. Moreover, for the case that the value of ε is not available for feedback, Finsler’s lemma is used to separate the controller gains and the ε-dependent Lyapunov matrix, and to achieve an ε-independent control. An example is presented to illustrate the validity of the design techniques.  相似文献
