As Natural resources are becoming limited and energy price dramatically increased, energy utilization with efficient systems is essentially required to be used in desalination technologies. The use of solar energy in desalination processes is one of the most promising applications of renewable energies. The primary focus on desalination by solar energy is suitable for use in remote areas. A proposed desalination system uses solar radiation, which concentrated by parabolic dish to heat up the working fluid in a closed space. Then the generated pressure in this space used to push salt water into RO module.Daily production rate of fresh water quantity for suggested system compared with other solar techniques is a promising rate for each m2 of solar radiation collecting surface. The production rate for one operation cycle could reach to 1800 L/cycle of fresh water at low water salinity (Brackish water with 5000 ppm) and 55 L/cycle at highest water salinity (sea water salinity with 42,000 ppm). The required energy needed to produce 1 kg of fresh water is also promising even when in case of using another type of energy, also operating cycle has ability of repetition according to salinity concentration through sunny hours. 相似文献

Wheat and potato starches were treated by gamma irradiation (0, 3, 5, 10, 20, 35, and 50 kGy). Apparent amylose content, gelatinization maximum consistency, swelling power, viscosity, and textural parameters decreased in potato and wheat starch pastes as irradiation dose increased. Nevertheless, the decrease of apparent amylose content and swelling power was greater in potato starch than in wheat one. High gamma irradiation doses made potato starch granules more sensitive to shear. On the other hand, no modification in the granule shape was observed by scanning electron microscopy. However, through heat-treatment, starch granules destroyed as irradiation dose increased. Consequently, the effect of irradiation on granular structure appeared to be greater in potato starch than in wheat starch. 相似文献

In this paper, we investigate a coded cooperation diversity scheme suitable for L-relay channels operating in the soft-decode-and-forward (soft-DF) mode. The proposed scheme is based on parallel concatenated convolutional codes (PCCC). To improve the overall performance through diversity, the coded cooperation operates by sending the systematic and the first parity outputs via L?+?1 independent fading paths. Instead of using only a centralized turbo code system at the source node, we have proposed a DCC scheme, where the first recursive systematic coding is done at both source and relay nodes. At the destination, the received replicas are combined using the maximal ratio combining (MRC). The entire codeword, comprising the MRC sequence and the second parity part, is decoded via the maximum a-posteriori (MAP) algorithm and turbo decoding principle. We analyze the proposed scheme in terms of bit error rate (BER). In fact, we define the explicit upper bounds for error rate assuming Binary phase shift keying (BPSK) transmission for fully interleaved channels with channel state information (CSI). We use the Rayleigh fading channels with independent fading. Our study shows that the full diversity order is achieved when the source-relay link is more reliable than the other links. Otherwise, the diversity decreases. However, in both cases, it is shown that significant performance improvements are possible to achieve over non-cooperative coded systems. Wrinkle recovery behaviour is an important property of fabrics for apparel applications. Fifty fabrics of a variety of constructions have been objectively evaluated in order to study the wrinkle recovery after a deformation. The wrinkle recovery behaviour was studied based on energy modelling. To study their wrinkle recovery properties, fabrics are modelled with the energy method. It is shown that the more the energy dissipation is low, the more fabric is able to recover to its initial state and then the more residual deformation is low. Thus, the energy dissipation can be used to estimate the ability of the fabric to recover to its initial state. In this paper, we also studied the effect of the fatigue test after the repeated wrinkling. Further, the increase of the fatigue cycle number after repeated wrinkling resulted in an increase of the residual deformation and permanent deformation. This method allows us for better approximation of the real behaviour of multidirectional wrinkling of clothing during wearing. 相似文献

In order to increase cognitive radios (CRs) operation efficiency, there has been an increasing interest in strengthening awareness level about spectrum utilisation. In this respect, this paper proposes to exploit the fittingness factor concept to capture the suitability of spectral resources exhibiting time-varying characteristics to support a set of heterogeneous CR applications. First, a new knowledge management functional architecture for optimizing spectrum management has been constructed. It integrates a set of advanced statistics capturing the influence of the dynamic radio environment on the fittingness factor. Then, a knowledge manager (KM) exploiting these statistics to monitor time-varying suitability of spectrum resources has been proposed to support the spectrum selection (SS) decision-making process. In particular, a new Fittingness Factor-based strategy combining two SS and spectrum mobility (SM) functionalities has been proposed, following either a greedy or a proactive approach. Results have shown that, with a proper fittingness factor function, the greedy approach efficiently exploits the KM support at low loads and the SM functionality at high loads to introduce significant gains in terms of the user dissatisfaction probability. The proactive approach has been shown to maintain the introduced performance gain while minimizing the signalling requirements in terms of spectrum handover rate. 相似文献

Pomegranate seeds were osmodehydrated using date juice added with sucrose (final °Brix, 55) as immersion solution. The kinetics of osmotic dehydration showed that the most significant changes of mass transfer took place during the first 20 min of the process, regardless of date juice varieties. During this time, seed water loss and solid gain were estimated to be ∼39% and ∼6%, respectively. After 20 min of the process, the percentage of water loss and solid gain varied slightly and ranged on average close to ∼40% and ∼9%, respectively. During osmotic dehydration, there was a leaching of natural solutes from seeds into the solution, which is quantitatively not negligible, and might have an important impact on the sensorial and nutritional value of seeds and date juices. Both scanning electron microscopy and texture (compression) analysis revealed that osmotic dehydration process induced modifications of seed texture and cell structure. Sucrose was found to be the essential element which influences the texture of seed and the viscosity of date juice. Additionally, natural sugar present in date juice permits substituting 35% of the total quantity of sucrose added to the osmotic solution. 相似文献

Process selection for repair of mechanical components due to wear and corrosion, e.g. damage of aluminum casting housings of fuel injection systems, is based on cost and response time factors, provided that the mechanical performance is maintained within acceptable limits. One of the promising and emerging repair technologies is Cold Gas-Dynamic Spray (CGDS) coating, where a high-pressure gas propels fine powder particles to very high velocities to produce surface coating. It is essential to identify the optimum process conditions and powder composition to produce repaired surfaces with tribological properties close to those of the originally manufactured part (without coating). The objective of this work is to compare the dynamic friction and fretting wear properties of the repaired surfaces using various types of coating composition and spraying techniques. Eight types of CGDS coatings, applied to AMS 4260 aluminum specimens, were fretted against 440C stainless steel specimens at low and high nominal loads to assess their fretting wear resistance, dynamic friction properties and damping capacity. The optimum coating composition and process conditions were identified. In comparison to the uncoated specimen, this optimum coating offered tribological characteristics close to the uncoated material and even better dynamic friction properties. 相似文献

This paper presents the results of an experimental investigation on the wear mechanisms of uncoated tungsten carbide (WC) and coated tools (single-layer (TiAlN) PVD, and triple-layer (TiCN/Al2O3/TiN) CVD) in oblique finish turning of Inconel 718. Tool wear rate and wear mechanisms were evaluated for cutting speeds, 50<V<100 m/min, and feed rates, 0.075<f<0.125 mm/rev, at a constant depth of cut of 0.25 mm. It was concluded that abrasive and adhesive wear were the most dominant wear mechanisms, controlling the deterioration and final failure of the WC tools. While the triple layer CVD coated tools exhibited the highest wear resistance at high cutting speeds and low feeds, uncoated tools outperformed the single and multi-layer coated tools in the low range of cutting speeds and intermediate feeds. Two activated carbons were obtained from pistachio shells by impregnation with H3PO4 under standard conditions of acid concentration (50 wt%) and heat treatment at 773 K for 2 h. The soaking time was 24 and 72 h for the two samples before thermal pyrolysis. Analysis of the N2/77 K adsorption isotherms proved that both were highly adsorbing carbons with considerable microporosity, and that the prolonged contact with activant enhanced total porosity (surface area and pore volume) and increased the amount of mesoporosity. Adsorption isotherms of probe molecules, viz methylene blue (MB), rhodamine B (RB), phenol (P) and p‐nitrophenol (PNP), were determined at room temperature, from aqueous solutions. Both the Langmuir and Freundlich model adsorption equations show satisfactory fit to experimental data. Both carbons exhibit similar adsorption parameters irrespective of their porosity characteristics. The sequence of uptake per unit weight was: PNP > MB > RB > P. Low affinity towards phenol may be associated with its competition with water molecules which are more favourably attracted to the acid surface which has a high oxygen functionality. Preferred adsorption in the order PNP > MB > RB is proposed to be a function of carbon porosity, related to the increased molecular dimensions of the solutes. Adsorption from a binary mixture of equal concentrations of MB and RB showed reduced uptake for both sorbates in comparison to the single component experiments. RB removal surpasses that of MB in the binary test and may be attributed to lower water solubility and higher molecular dimensions. Copyright © 2003 Society of Chemical Industry 相似文献
