Different contents of multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNTs) functionalized by He-dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma followed by an exposure to NH3 were incorporated into PA6 matrix via a phase inversion based solution method. Optical and electron microscopic results were indicative of the excellent dispersion state of the MWCNTs. The differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetric analysis measurements revealed that even addition of a slight amount of the MWCNTs significantly increased the thermal stability and crystallization temperature. Moreover, the low electrical percolation threshold of the PA 6/functionalized MWCNTs nanocomposites was another confirmation for achieving a good dispersion state of MWCNTs using this approach.  相似文献

Controllable patterning of bio-compatible polymers in the presence of a cross-linker in evaporating bi-dispersed colloidal drops is of critical importance in functional coatings, bioprinting, and food packaging. This study investigates the effect of calcium chloride and sodium alginate concentration on the evaporative deposition and elemental distribution of dried-out patterns. Different concentrations of alginate and salt in aqueous solutions are deposited on clean glass substrates to gain a deeper understanding of the final structures. Overall, the results indicate that changing the concentrations of sodium alginate and calcium chloride can significantly alter the elemental distribution and deposition uniformity of the final patterns. The modifications in relative concentration alter the physicochemical characteristics of the solution, resulting in significant changes in the pinning time and contact angle of the droplets that correspond to the alteration of the colloidal size and concentration, ultimately resulting in significant differences in deposition patterns. The dried-out patterns are categorized based on their structures and mechanisms (crystallization, sedimentation, and adsorption) controlling the evaporative deposition, and then justified based on the competitive effects of cross-linking, crystallization, and evaporation-driven flows. Using scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, the elemental distribution of dried-out patterns is also mapped to substantiate the discussion made.  相似文献

Off-grid electrification of remote areas using a hybrid renewable energy scheme is a requirement to achieve the goals of sustainable development. However, the optimization and sizing for the capacity of such systems are challenging. In this regard, this study targets an improved optimization algorithm with high efficiency for optimization and long-term capacity planning of an off-grid hybrid renewable energy scheme composed of wind, fuel cell, and hydrogen storage schemes. The suggested methods are three improved versions of the global dynamic harmony search to do pitch adjustment mechanism. The objective function of this study is to reduce the total net annual cost of the system and the loss of power supply probability to a minimum. The performance of this hybrid system is examined via a simulation study, which had been performed on a remote area located in eastern Iran over a long period. The results of the three improved proposed algorithms are compared with the original global dynamic harmony search algorithm. Also, sensitivity analysis is proposed to showcase the influence of uncertainties on the system and input parameters on the algorithm. The simulation results indicate that three improved versions of the global dynamic harmony search algorithm ?nd more promising results than the original algorithm, and confirm the superior accuracy, convergence speed, and robustness of the global dynamic harmony search-II. Also, reliability level and iteration values have a considerable impact on the total net annual cost of the optimal hybrid energy system based on wind and hydrogen energy.  相似文献

To investigate the effect of the swirl generator (SG) on shockwave position and pressure drop, 3D simulation is conducted and validated by Arina's study. An increase of the blade number, height, and end angle leads to shockwave displacement toward the nozzle outlet. The maximum increment of the shockwave displacement, which is due to enlarging the angle of the blade end, is about 47 %. For this case, the pressure drop share of the SG is nearly half of the total pressure drop, while the residence time of particles is prolonged by about 51 %. As a general finding, increasing the swirl intensity provides a longer residence time to separate adequately the liquid from the gas. However, a higher energy loss is not desirable for the high-pressure process at the downstream of the 3S separator.  相似文献

Three-dimensional turbulent channel flow and heat transfer in the presence of a square cylinder were investigated numerically for a Reynolds number of 3000. Turbulent flow was simulated using large eddy simulation in which the eddy viscosity was evaluated by a subgrid-scale model of structure function and selective structure function. The attached wall boundary layer of the channel starts to separate if an insulated cylinder is placed in the channel, and a subsequent recirculation zone appears downstream of the cylinder. Nusselt number distribution along the floor of the channel showed an increase in the downstream part of the cylinder with a relative maximum slightly downstream of the reattachment point. The position of the cylinder in cross-stream direction affects the heat transfer from the channel wall. This quantity increases with decreasing the distance between the cylinder and the channel wall. A correlation was developed for the mean total Nusselt number over the floor of the channel with the position of the cylinder in the channel.  相似文献

Incorporation of nanostructured materials into the membrane matrix is a new strategy to improve mechanical and performance properties. Graphene oxide (GO) is one of the advantageous carbon-based nanomaterials, which recently has been used extensively in this field. However, in the most cases, the surface modification of GO has been considered for the creation of new properties like a response to different stimuli such as temperature, pH, and pressure. In the present study, a well-defined poly(acrylic acid) was grafted on GO using reversible addition–fragmentation chain transfer polymerization technique. This modified GO was incorporated into the mixed matrix membrane as a pH-sensitive additive and its effect on the membrane performance was investigated. The membrane with 5 wt % of modified GO provides better hydrophilicity, flux, antifouling, and rejection properties and so the effect of pH change on the aforementioned characteristic properties was studied for this membrane. It is indicated that modified membrane shows different behaviors in acidic and alkaline conditions. In this study, intelligent systems (ANN-GA and GMDH) was employed to develope a model based on experimental data to predict the performance of the pervaporation process. The ANN system was coupled with the genetic algorithm (GA) to choose initial connection weights and biases of the multi-layer feed forward neural network (FFNN). The input parameters were the feed concentration, membrane thickness, and Reynolds number, while the outputs were total flux and permeate concentration. The RMSE of the estimated total flux for the ANN-GA and GMDH were 0.09170 and 0.0903, respectively. Also, the RMSE of estimated permeate concentration for the ANN-GA and GMDH were 0.0994 and 0.0975, respectively. The results indicated that the models had sufficient accuracy, but that GMDH could provide a better outcome. Finally, the relative importance of input variables on the network outputs was determined. Sensitive analysis showed that the membrane thickness and feed concentration are the most effect on the total flux and permeate concentration, respectively. Other variables also have important effect on the PV process and cannot be ignored.  相似文献

Meniscus lesions are frequently occurring injuries with poor ability to heal. Typical treatment procedure includes removal of damaged regions, which can lead to sub-optimal knee biomechanics and early onset of osteoarthritis. Some of the drawbacks of current treatment approach present an opportunity for a tissue engineering solution. In this study, gelatin (G)/chitosan (Cs) scaffolds were synthesized via gel casting method and cross-linked with naturally derived cross-linker, genipin, through scaffold cross-linking method. Based on the characteristics of native meniscus tissue microstructure and function, three different layers were chosen to design the macroporous multilayered scaffolds. The multi-layered scaffolds were investigated for their ability to support human-derived meniscus cells by evaluating their morphology and proliferation using MTT assay at various time points. Based on structural, mechanical and cell compatibility considerations, laminated scaffolds composed of G60/Cs40, G80/Cs20 and G40/Cs60 samples, for the first, second and third layers, respectively, could be an appropriate combination for meniscus tissue engineering applications.  相似文献
