Chronic inflammation is widely diffuse in maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients and is associated with poor survival. Hemodiafiltration with endogenous reinfusion (HFR) is a dialysis technique, highly biocompatible, able to adsorb proinflammatory cytokines and to decrease amino acids and antioxidants loss. These features could be helpful in MHD patients affected by idiopathic chronic inflammation, but this issue remains to be elucidated. We performed a multicenter longitudinal study to assess the effect of the switching from bicarbonate HD to HFR in patients with serum C‐reactive Protein (CRP) > 5 mg/L coupled with albumin <4.0 g/dL in the last 6 months. We enrolled 24/176 (14%) patients, of which 20 patients were assessed at 4 months and 18 completed the study. We excluded 11 patients with evident causes of inflammation. At baseline, serum levels of CRP (18.7[7.0–39.4] mg/L) and albumin (3.5[3.3–3.7] g/dL) were significantly correlated (r = ?0.49; P = 0.028). The effect on CRP and albumin was almost evident in the first 4 months and remained stable until to eighth month. A strict correlation (R = ?0.49; 0.040) between percentage change of CRP (?35%) and albumin (+14%) after 8 months of HFR. These effects were associated with the reduction of IL‐6, IL‐1β, and TNF‐α and the increment of pre‐albumin and leptin, whereas the serum levels of Branched Chain Amino Acid (BCAA) remained unchanged. In MHD patients affected by idiopathic chronic inflammation the switching from BHD to HFR is associated with improvement of inflammation. Whether these favorable effects may modify the outcomes of these high‐risk patients needs to be confirmed by studies ad hoc.  相似文献

Near‐field plasmonic coupling and local field enhancement in metal nanoarchitectures, such as arrangements of nanoparticle clusters, have application in many technologies from medical diagnostics, solar cells, to sensors. Although nanoparticle‐based cluster assemblies have exhibited signal enhancements in surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) sensors, it is challenging to achieve high reproducibility in SERS response using low‐cost fabrication methods. Here an innovative method is developed for fabricating self‐organized clusters of metal nanoparticles on diblock copolymer thin films as SERS‐active structures. Monodisperse, colloidal gold nanoparticles are attached via a crosslinking reaction on self‐organized chemically functionalized poly(methyl methacrylate) domains on polystyrene‐block‐poly(methyl methacrylate) templates. Thereby nanoparticle clusters with sub‐10‐nanometer interparticle spacing are achieved. Varying the molar concentration of functional chemical groups and crosslinking agent during the assembly process is found to affect the agglomeration of Au nanoparticles into clusters. Samples with a high surface coverage of nanoparticle cluster assemblies yield relative enhancement factors on the order of 109 while simultaneously producing uniform signal enhancements in point‐to‐point measurements across each sample. High enhancement factors are associated with the narrow gap between nanoparticles assembled in clusters in full‐wave electromagnetic simulations. Reusability for small‐molecule detection is also demonstrated. Thus it is shown that the combination of high signal enhancement and reproducibility is achievable using a completely non‐lithographic fabrication process, thereby producing SERS substrates having high performance at low cost.  相似文献

This article describes the preparation of thin films of conjugated polymers which can enhance their specific electrical conductivity by several orders of magnitude by changing their state from insulating to conducting materials. The examined polymers, i.e., a polyacetylenic and a polythiophenic derivative, are functionalized with thioalkylic side chains and are soluble in common organic solvents from which they lead to thick homogeneous films. The films can be deposited on different substrates, either rigid or flexible, and can be easily exposed to laser radiation to make them conductive. The process is irreversible, and the final conductivity is stable over time, even in the presence of high temperatures (up to 180 °C), moisture, and air. The high stability of treated samples, easy polymer synthesis and quick and inexpensive suitably tailored laser tracing procedure make these materials very promising for applications in organic electronics and in the development of new electronic circuitry.  相似文献

In the present work, systematic dating by luminescence methods has been done on 50 Quaternary geological samples within the study area of S?o Paulo State, Brazil. Bleaching experiments showed that residual TL intensity of 375 degrees C peak, of the quartz, was obtained after 10 h of sunlight exposition. Intensities decays of the 325 and 375 degrees C TL peaks can be fitted using second order exponential equation. Paleodose values were evaluated using regeneration methods with multiple aliquots. Samples dated indicate preliminary ages varying from 9 +/- 1 to 935 +/- 130 ka for colluvio-elluvial deposits, and from 17 +/- 2 to 215 +/- 30 ka for alluvial deposits of the study area. They cover four peneplained surfaces shaped during the Quaternary: I (1000-400 ka), II (400-120 ka), III (120-10 ka) and IV (10 ka until today), in decreasing order.  相似文献

Coherent change detection (CCD) use the sample degree of coherence as a measure of the temporal change collected between two complex-valued SAR images observed in the same area and using also the same geometry and polarization. The problem of classical CCD approaches shows a temporal change only when there are in areas of the image that have high clutter-to-noise power ratio. All experiments regarding the maximum-likelihood (ML) CCD, found to estimate useful information also in lower clutter-to-noise power ratio. Experiments used only electromagnetic transmissions in the same polarization. This work extends the formulation of the probability distribution function of the CCD in a multi-dimensional version useful for multi-polarization SAR data. Results of this ML-polarimetric interferometric SAR-CCD (ML-PolInSAR-CCD) show surprising recovery of both amplitude and phase CCD information. This information recovery is useful for improved interferometric SAR (InSAR), permanent scatterers interferometry (PS-InSAR) and SAR tomography applications.  相似文献

The generation of realistic spatio-temporal trajectories of human mobility is of fundamental importance in a wide range of applications, such as the developing of protocols for mobile ad-hoc networks or what-if analysis in urban ecosystems. Current generative algorithms fail in accurately reproducing the individuals’ recurrent schedules and at the same time in accounting for the possibility that individuals may break the routine during periods of variable duration. In this article we present Ditras (DIary-based TRAjectory Simulator), a framework to simulate the spatio-temporal patterns of human mobility. Ditras operates in two steps: the generation of a mobility diary and the translation of the mobility diary into a mobility trajectory. We propose a data-driven algorithm which constructs a diary generator from real data, capturing the tendency of individuals to follow or break their routine. We also propose a trajectory generator based on the concept of preferential exploration and preferential return. We instantiate Ditras with the proposed diary and trajectory generators and compare the resulting algorithm with real data and synthetic data produced by other generative algorithms, built by instantiating Ditras with several combinations of diary and trajectory generators. We show that the proposed algorithm reproduces the statistical properties of real trajectories in the most accurate way, making a step forward the understanding of the origin of the spatio-temporal patterns of human mobility.  相似文献

To investigate the chemical changes occurring at metal/lubricant interfaces under tribological conditions in the boundary-lubrication regime, an in situ system for conducting quantitative tribological measurements has been constructed by combining an attenuated total reflection Fourier-transform infrared (ATR/FT-IR) spectrometer with a reciprocating tribometer. By periodically acquiring ATR/FT-IR spectra during sliding, spectroscopic changes due to thermal and/or tribochemical reactions occurring at the metal/oil interface can be monitored and correlated with friction measurements. The usefulness of this tribological test system has been demonstrated by performing ATR tribological experiments in the presence of a poly-α-olefin base oil at high temperature (423 K) on iron-coated germanium ATR crystals.  相似文献
