Supported LaCoO3 perovskites with 10 and 20 wt.% loading were obtained by wet impregnation of different Ce1−xZrxO2 (x = 0–0.3) supports with a solution prepared from La and Co nitrates, and citric acid. Supports were also prepared using the “citrate method”. All materials were calcined at 700 °C for 6 h and investigated by N2 adsorption at −196 °C, XRD and XPS. XRD patterns and XPS measurements evidenced the formation of a pure perovskite phase, preferentially accumulated at the outer surface. These materials were comparatively tested in benzene and toluene total oxidation in the temperature range 100–500 °C. All catalysts showed a lower T50 than the corresponding Ce1−xZrxO2 supports. Twenty weight percent LaCoO3 catalysts presented lower T50 than bulk LaCoO3. In terms of reaction rates per mass unit of perovskite calculated at 300 °C, two facts should be noted (i) the activity order is more than 10 times higher for toluene and (ii) the reverse variation with the loading as a function of the reactant, a better activity being observed for low loadings in the case of benzene. For the same loading, the support composition influences drastically the oxidative abilities of LaCoO3 by the surface area and the oxygen mobility.  相似文献

Bone disorders and traumas represent a common type of healthcare emergency affecting men and women worldwide. Since most of these diseases imply surgery, frequently complicated by exogenous or endogenous infections, there is an acute need for improving their therapeutic approaches, particularly in clinical conditions requiring orthopedic implants. Various biomaterials have been investigated in the last decades for their potential to increase bone regeneration and prevent orthopedic infections. The present study aimed to develop a series of MAPLE-deposited coatings composed of magnesium phosphate (Mg3(PO4)2) and silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) designed to ensure osteoblast proliferation and anti-infective properties simultaneously. Mg3(PO4)2 and AgNPs were obtained through the cooling bath reaction and chemical reduction, respectively, and then characterized through X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), and Selected Area Electron Diffraction (SAED). Subsequently, the obtained coatings were evaluated by Infrared Microscopy (IRM), Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR), and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Their biological properties show that the proposed composite coatings exhibit well-balanced biocompatibility and antibacterial activity, promoting osteoblasts viability and proliferation and inhibiting the adherence and growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, two of the most important agents of orthopedic implant-associated infections.  相似文献

Methacrylate polymers are much used as additives in lubricating oils, as pour-point depressants and viscosity index improvers. Although the mechanism of such pour-point depression is still controversial, it is thought to be related to the length of the alkyl side chains of the polymethacrylates, and to the nature of the base oil. In this paper, work is reported on: (a) the depressant activity of polymethacrylate copolymers in relation to the content of short alkyl methacrylates and styrene, and the average side-chain length of the basic methacrylate constituents; (b) the pour point of the base stock; and (c) the additive concentration.  相似文献

Melanoma is a common and aggressive tumor originating from melanocytes. The increasing incidence of cutaneous melanoma in recent last decades highlights the need for predictive biomarkers studies. Melanoma development is a complex process, involving the interplay of genetic, epigenetic, and environmental factors. Genetic aberrations include BRAF, NRAS, NF1, MAP2K1/MAP2K2, KIT, GNAQ, GNA11, CDKN2A, TERT mutations, and translocations of kinases. Epigenetic alterations involve microRNAs, non-coding RNAs, histones modifications, and abnormal DNA methylations. Genetic aberrations and epigenetic marks are important as biomarkers for the diagnosis, prognosis, and prediction of disease recurrence, and for therapeutic targets. This review summarizes our current knowledge of the genomic and epigenetic changes in melanoma and discusses the latest scientific information.  相似文献

Aldehyde dehydrogenases (ALDHs) convert aldehydes into carboxylic acids and are often upregulated in cancer. They have been linked to therapy resistance and are therefore potential therapeutic targets. However, only a few selective and potent inhibitors are currently available for this group of enzymes. Competitive activity-based protein profiling (ABPP) would aid the development and validation of new selective inhibitors. Herein, a broad-spectrum activity-based probe that reports on several ALDHs is presented. This probe was used in a competitive ABPP protocol against three ALDH inhibitors in lung cancer cells to determine their selectivity profiles and establish their target engagement.  相似文献

Bioorthogonal chemistry allows the selective modification of biomolecules in complex biological samples. One application of this methodology is in two-step activity-based protein profiling (ABPP), a methodology that is particularly attractive where direct ABPP using fluorescent or biotinylated probes is ineffective. Herein we describe a set of norbornene-modified, mechanism-based proteasome inhibitors aimed to be selective for each of the six catalytic sites of human constitutive proteasomes and immunoproteasomes. The probes developed for β1i, β2i, β5c, and β5i proved to be useful two-step ABPs that effectively label their developed proteasome subunits in both Raji cell extracts and living Raji cells through inverse-electron-demand Diels–Alder (iEDDA) ligation. The compound developed for β1c proved incapable of penetrating the cell membrane, but effectively labels β1c in vitro. The compound developed for β2c proved not selective, but its azide-containing analogue LU-002c proved effective in labeling of β2c via azide–alkyne click ligation chemistry both in vitro and in situ. In total, our results contribute to the growing list of proteasome activity tools to include five subunit-selective activity-based proteasome probes, four of which report on proteasome activities in living cells.  相似文献

The lubricating ability of a grease depends on both the base oil and the thickener. As a result of their intrinsic properties and/or because of their com‐patibility with thickeners and specific additives, base fluids have different influences upon the properties of grease formulations. It is well known that mineral oils are the most widely used lubricant bases due to their inherent lubricity and lower cost, but recent environmental concern has led to consideration of the use of vegetable oils and readily biodegradable synthetic fluids as raw materials in lubricating grease formulations. As well as the base materials, the additives for biodegradable greases should also be biodegradable. This requirement limits the kind of products that may be used in environmentally friendly greases. This paper presents comparative data concerning the tribological and physico‐chemical properties of biodegradable greases formulated with certain vegetable oils, such as rape seed oil, castor oil, and soybean oil or their mixtures, and synthetic esters. The improvement of the load‐carrying properties of biodegradable greases and the antioxidative effect of some suitable additives have also been studied, and the results are presented here.  相似文献

The poly-ADP-ribose polymerase (PARP) is a protein from the family of ADP-ribosyltransferases that catalyzes polyadenosine diphosphate ribose (ADPR) formation in order to attract the DNA repair machinery to sites of DNA damage. The inhibition of PARP activity by olaparib can cause cell death, which is of clinical relevance in some tumor types. This demonstrates that quantification of PARP activity in the context of living cells is of great importance. In this work, we present the design, synthesis and biological evaluation of photo-activatable affinity probes inspired by the olaparib molecule that are equipped with a diazirine for covalent attachment upon activation by UV light and a ligation handle for the addition of a reporter group of choice. SDS-PAGE, western blotting and label-free LC-MS/MS quantification analysis show that the probes target the PARP-1 protein and are selectively outcompeted by olaparib; this suggests that they bind in the same enzymatic pocket. Plasma polymers of acrylic acid were obtained using an atmospheric pressure discharge system. The plasma polymerization reactor uses a dielectric barrier discharge, with the polyethylene terephthalate dielectric acting as substrate for deposition. The plasma was characterized by specific electrical measurements, monitoring the applied voltage and the discharge current. Based on the spatially resolved optical emission spectroscopy, we analyzed the distribution of the excited species in the discharge gap, specific plasma temperatures (vibrational and gas temperatures) being calculated with the Boltzmann plot method. The properties of the plasma polymer films were investigated by contact angle measurements, infrared and UV-Vis spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy. The films produced by plasma polymerization at atmospheric pressure showed a hydrophilic character, in correlation with the strong absorbance of OH groups in the FTIR spectrum. Moreover, the surface of the plasma polymers at micrometric scale is smooth and free of defects without particular features.  相似文献
