The perovskite-type oxide PrCoO3 has been studied by means of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), reduction in H2 and X-ray diffraction. Two types of oxygen were detected: lattice oxygen (binding energy = 528.4 eV) and adsorbed oxygen (binding energy = 530.9 eV). The increase in relative intensity of the peak corresponding to the latter species after reduction of PrCo03 to 3e per molecule is assigned to the formation of hydroxyl groups. Temperature-programmed reduction (TPR) results showed two reduction steps: to 1 e per molecule (Co3.1 Co2+) at 475 to 635 K, and to 3e per molecule (Co21 Co0) at 725 to 815 K. Reduction in the first and second steps occurs according to the contracting sphere model and the nucleation mechanism, respectively. Reduction of Co3+ to Co2+ causes minimal structural changes in the perovskite. Reduction to 3e per molecule yielded Pr2O3 and metallic cobalt. After this reduction and reoxidation at 973 K, the perovskite structure was regained. By XPS and TPR it was shown that PrCo03 is more easily reducible than LaCo03. It is concluded that the cation in the A position of the structure plays a significant role in the bulk and surface properties of LnCo03 (Ln, lanthanide elements) oxides.  相似文献

Synthesis of ceramic YBa2Cu3O7– by solid-state reaction was performed under different conditions. Different values of cooling rate and oxygen flow were used, and no significant influence on superconducting characteristics of the samples was observed. Virtually all structural optimization based on system reliability was conducted considering continuous design variables. The solution of the reliability-based design problem is obtained by solving alternatively a reliability assessment problem and an optimal sizing program until the best reliability-based design occurs. The reliability assessment problem is formulated as a linearly constrained concave quadratic program. By introducing the concept of segmental members, the discrete optimum design is achieved based upon linear programming. Regulatory B (Breg) cells are endowed with immune suppressive functions. Various human and murine Breg subtypes have been reported. While interleukin (IL)-10 intracellular staining remains the most reliable way to identify Breg cells, this technique hinders further essential functional studies. Recent findings suggest that CD9 is an effective surface marker of murine IL-10 competent Breg cells. However, the stability of CD9 and its relevance as a unique marker for human Breg cells, which have been widely characterized as CD24hiCD38hi, have not been investigated. Here, we demonstrate that CD9 expression is sensitive to in vitro B cell stimulations. CD9 expression could either be re-expressed or downregulated in purified CD9-negative B cells and CD9-positive B cells, respectively. We found no significant differences in the Breg differentiation capacity of the CD9-negative and CD9-positive B cells. Furthermore, CD9-positive B cells co-express CD40 and CD86, suggesting their nature as B cell activation or co-stimulatory molecules, rather than regulatory ones. Therefore, we report the relatively unstable CD9 as a distinct surface molecule, indicating the need for further research for a more reliable marker to purify human Breg cells.  相似文献

Visceral adipose tissue (VAT) metabolic profiling harbors the potential to disentangle molecular changes underlying obesity-related dysglycemia. In this study, the VAT exometabolome of subjects with obesity and different glycemic statuses are analyzed. The subjects (n = 19) are divided into groups according to body mass index and glycemic status: subjects with obesity and euglycemia (Ob+NGT, n = 5), subjects with obesity and pre-diabetes (Ob+Pre-T2D, n = 5), subjects with obesity and type 2 diabetes under metformin treatment (Ob+T2D, n = 5) and subjects without obesity and with euglycemia (Non-Ob, n = 4), used as controls. VATs are incubated in culture media and extracellular metabolite content is determined by proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H-NMR). Glucose consumption is not different between the groups. Pyruvate and pyroglutamate consumption are significantly lower in all groups of subjects with obesity compared to Non-Ob, and significantly lower in Ob+Pre-T2D as compared to Ob+NGT. In contrast, isoleucine consumption is significantly higher in all groups of subjects with obesity, particularly in Ob+Pre-T2D, compared to Non-Ob. Acetate production is also significantly lower in Ob+Pre-T2D compared to Non-Ob. In sum, the VAT metabolic fingerprint is associated with pre-diabetes and characterized by higher isoleucine consumption, accompanied by lower acetate production and pyruvate and pyroglutamate consumption. We propose that glucose metabolism follows different fates within the VAT, depending on the individuals’ health status.  相似文献
