Experimental results on the charge-state-dependent sputtering of metallic gold nanoislands are presented. Irradiations with slow highly charged ions of metallic targets were previously considered to show no charge state dependent effects on ion-induced material modification, since these materials possess enough free electrons to dissipate the deposited potential energy before electron-phonon coupling can set in. By reducing the size of the target material down to the nanometer regime and thus enabling a geometric energy confinement, a possibility is demonstrated to erode metallic surfaces by charge state related effects in contrast to regular kinetic sputtering. 相似文献

In the Fe–30Ni alloy investigated a martensitic transformation can occur both during quenching or plastic deformation. Martensite formed during plastic deformation, depending on the thermo-mechanical treatment applied, exhibits a different morphology from that achieved during quenching and forms the so-called composite-like structure. The morphology and volume fraction of martensite depends both on strain and temperature. In the present studies Fe–30Ni alloy was deformed by monotonic rolling in one path and perpendicular rolling in the temperature range MD–MS. The aim of the investigations was a determination of martensite volume fraction depending on the strain and temperature. To examine the influence of strain, the alloy was deformed by rolling in one path or perpendicular rolling at a temperature of − 30 °C, in the strain range of 10–30%. The dependence of temperature was investigated by rolling with 30% strain in a temperature range from − 30 °C to − 80 °C. The variants of thermo-mechanical treatment performed enabled us to achieve different martensite morphologies and volume fractions. Microstructural analysis was performed by means of light microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The results of quantitative microstructural analysis of martensite and retained austenite volume fractions formed in different thermo-mechanical treatments were compared with those obtained by magnetic measurements. The fraction of deformation-induced martensite determined varied from 2% to 86%. The partial volume fractions VVMF of martensite formed in different deformation directions were also determined. The aim of the study was to assess the role of salicylic acid (SA) and abscisic acid (ABA) in osmotic stress tolerance of wheat seedlings. This was accomplished by determining the impact of the acids applied exogenously on seedlings grown under osmotic stress in hydroponics. The investigation was unique in its comprehensiveness, examining changes under osmotic stress and other conditions, and testing a number of parameters simultaneously. In both drought susceptible (SQ1) and drought resistant (CS) wheat cultivars, significant physiological and biochemical changes were observed upon the addition of SA (0.05 mM) or ABA (0.1 μM) to solutions containing half-strength Hoagland medium and PEG 6000 (−0.75 MPa). The most noticeable result of supplementing SA or ABA to the medium (PEG + SA and PEG + ABA) was a decrease in the length of leaves and roots in both cultivars. While PEG treatment reduced gas exchange parameters, chlorophyll content in CS, and osmotic potential, and conversely, increased lipid peroxidation, soluble carbohydrates in SQ1, proline content in both cultivars and total antioxidants activity in SQ1, PEG + SA or PEG + ABA did not change the values of these parameters. Furthermore, PEG caused a two-fold increase of endogenous ABA content in SQ1 and a four-fold increase in CS. PEG + ABA increased endogenous ABA only in SQ1, whereas PEG + SA caused a greater increase of ABA content in both cultivars compared to PEG. In PEG-treated plants growing until the harvest, a greater decrease of yield components was observed in SQ1 than in CS. PEG + SA, and particularly PEG + ABA, caused a greater increase of these yield parameters in CS compared to SQ1. In conclusion, SA and ABA ameliorate, particularly in the tolerant wheat cultivar, the harmful effects and after effects of osmotic stress induced by PEG in hydroponics through better osmotic adjustment achieved by an increase in proline and carbohydrate content as well as by an increase in antioxidant activity. 相似文献

Two series of novel 4-aryl-2H-pyrido[1,2-c]pyrimidine (6a–i) and 4-aryl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydropyrido[1,2-c]pyrimidine (7a–i) derivatives were synthesized. The chemical structures of the new compounds were confirmed by 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy and ESI-HRMS spectrometry. The affinities of all compounds for the 5-HT1A receptor and serotonin transporter protein (SERT) were determined by in vitro radioligand binding assays. The test compounds demonstrated very high binding affinities for the 5-HT1A receptor of all derivatives in the series (6a–i and 7a–i) and generally low binding affinities for the SERT protein, with the exception of compounds 6a and 7g. Extended affinity tests for the receptors D2, 5-HT2A, 5-HT6 and 5-HT7 were conducted with regard to selected compounds (6a, 7g, 6d and 7i). All four compounds demonstrated very high affinities for the D2 and 5-HT2A receptors. Compounds 6a and 7g also had high affinities for 5-HT7, while 6d and 7i held moderate affinities for this receptor. Compounds 6a and 7g were also tested in vivo to identify their functional activity profiles with regard to the 5-HT1A receptor, with 6a demonstrating the activity profile of a presynaptic agonist. Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is defined as carbohydrate intolerance that appears or is for the first time diagnosed during pregnancy. It can lead to many complications in the mother and in the offspring, so diagnostics and management of GDM are important to avoid adverse pregnancy outcomes. Epigenetic studies revealed the different methylation status of genes in pregnancies with GDM compared to pregnancies without GDM. A growing body of evidence shows that the GDM can affect not only the course of the pregnancy, but also the development of the offspring, thus contributing to long-term effects and adverse health outcomes of the progeny. Epigenetic changes occur through histone modification, DNA methylation, and disrupted function of non-coding ribonucleic acid (ncRNA) including microRNAs (miRNAs). In this review, we focus on the recent knowledge about epigenetic changes in GDM. The analysis of this topic may help us to understand pathophysiological mechanisms in GDM and find a solution to prevent their consequences. 相似文献

Formulas for calculating the viscosity and diffusion coefficients for two-component aqueous non-electrolyte solutions as a function of the solution concentration under isothermal conditions were derived. The dependence of diffusion coefficient, filtration coefficient, and dynamic viscosity coefficient for these solutions on the solution concentration was estimated and evaluated. Based on the obtained formulas, the results of diffusion coefficient, membrane filtration coefficient, and dynamic viscosity calculations for aqueous solutions of ethanol and glucose are presented and compared with literature data. 相似文献

We propose a solution of the multiprocessor scheduling problem based on applying a relatively new metaheuristic technique,
called Generalized Extremal Optimization (GEO). GEO is inspired by a simple coevolutionary model known as the Bak–Sneppen
model. The model describes an ecosystem consisting of N species. Evolution in this model is driven by a process in which the weakest species in the ecosystem, together with its
nearest neighbors, is always forced to mutate. This process shows the characteristics of a phenomenon called punctuated equilibrium,
which is observed in evolutionary biology. We interpret the multiprocessor scheduling problem in terms of the Bak–Sneppen
model and apply the GEO algorithm to solve the problem. We show that the proposed optimization technique is simple and yet

Ergosterol peroxide, the steroidal derivative with cytotoxic activity, has been isolated for the first time from the mycelium of edible and medicinal mushroom Hericiumerinaceum (lion’s mane mushroom) together with erinacine A. The new densitometric method was applied for the quantitative determination of ergosterol peroxide in n-hexane extracts of H. erinaceum, Laetiporus sulfureus (chicken mushroom), and Morchella esculenta (common morel) mycelia, as well as in Boletus edulis (king bolete), Suillus bovinus (Jersey cow mushroom), and B. badius (bay bolete) fruiting bodies. The ergosterol peroxide content reached 15.98 ± 0.78, 10.07 ± 0.75, 13.37 ± 0.56, 29.32 ± 1.43, 17.27 ± 0.84, and 12.60 ± 0.59 mg per 100 g, respectively. What is significant was that ergosterol peroxide was identified for the first time, to the best of our knowledge, in edible mushrooms mentioned above. 相似文献
