The jitter and frequency-detuning dynamics of a 10-GHz rational-harmonic frequency-multiplied pulse train generated from an erbium-doped fiber laser (EDFL) is studied. The EDFL is self-feedback seeded and optically injection locked by a gain-switched laser diode (GSLD) with a pulse width and an average power of 17.6 ps and 0.2 mW, respectively, at a repetition frequency of 1 GHz. The repetition frequency of the optical pulse train can be tenth-order multiplied by a slight detuning of the repetition frequency of the GSLD to match the rational-harmonic injection-locked condition of the EDFL. As the repetition frequency is multiplied from 1 to 10 GHz, the peak power, the pulse width, and the frequency-detuning bandwidth of the injection-locked EDFL pulses decrease from 1.2 to 0.3 W, from 40 to 21 ps, and from 40 to 9 kHz, respectively. The timing jitter of the injection-locked EDFL repeated at 1 GHz remains unchanged (< 0.5 ps) within the detuning bandwidth, which inevitably increases to 1.2 ps after tenth-order multiplication. 相似文献

Experiments were aimed at determining whether interface pressure measurements are a true reflection of skin contact pressure when made over different layers of clothing. Interface pressures were recorded at the skin interface and above clothing layers, with 11 participants wearing 10 different clothing combinations. The clothing used was standard issue British military clothing, including body armour (without ballistic plate). Participants wore both single and multiple clothing layers whilst walking on a treadmill carrying a loaded backpack (23.5 kg, British military issue). Results showed no significant differences (p=>0.05) in pressure between different clothing layers either singly, or worn in multiple. In conclusion, the soldier (or leisure user) will gain no or very little relief from applied pressure by wearing garments, even in layers, when carrying a backpack. Also, the findings suggest that interface pressure may adequately be assessed using a sensor placed above the clothing layer(s) rather than at skin surface. 相似文献

Our main aim is to provide guidelines and practical help for the design of appropriate representations and operators for evolutionary algorithms (EAs). For this purpose, we propose techniques to obtain a better understanding of various effects in the interplay of the representation and the operators. We study six different representations and associated variation operators in the context of a steady-state evolutionary algorithm for the multidimensional knapsack problem. Four of them are indirect decoder-based techniques, and two are direct encodings combined with different initialization, repair, and local improvement strategies. The complex decoders and the local improvement and repair strategies make it practically impossible to completely analyze such EAs in a fully theoretical way. After comparing the general performance of the chosen EA variants for the multidimensional knapsack problem on two benchmark suites, we present a hands-on approach for empirically analyzing important aspects of initialization, mutation, and crossover in an isolated fashion. Static, inexpensive measurements based on randomly created solutions are performed in order to quantify and visualize specific properties with respect to heuristic bias, locality, and heritability. These tests shed light onto the complex behavior of such EAs and point out reasons for good or bad performance. In addition, the proposed measures are also examined during actual EA runs, which gives further insight into dynamic aspects of evolutionary search and verifies the validity of the isolated static measurements. X-ray betatron radiation is produced by oscillations of electrons in the intense focusing field of a laser-plasma accelerator. These hard x-rays show promise for use in femtosecond-scale time-resolved radiography of ultrafast processes. However, the spectral characteristics of betatron radiation have only been inferred from filter pack measurements. In order to achieve higher resolution spectral information about the betatron emission, we used an x-ray charge-coupled device to record the spectrum of betatron radiation, with a full width at half maximum resolution of 225 eV. In addition, we have recorded simultaneous electron and x-ray spectra along with x-ray images that allow for a determination of the betatron emission source size, as well as differences in the x-ray spectra as a function of the energy spectrum of accelerated electrons. 相似文献

Imaging of the size, shape, time-averaged, and time-resolved dynamics of long-wavelength density turbulence structures is accomplished with an expanded, high-sensitivity, wide-field beam emission spectroscopy (BES) diagnostic on DIII-D. A 64-channel BES system is configured with an 8×8 grid of discrete channels that image an approximately 7×9?cm region at the outboard midplane. The grid covers multiple correlation lengths and each channel shape matches the measured radial-poloidal correlation length asymmetry of turbulent eddies. The wide field 8×8 imaging capability allows for sampling of essentially the full two-dimensional spatial correlation function for typical plasma conditions. The aim of this study was to use a biomechanical model of the shoulder to examine the characteristics of two concepts of reverse anatomy implant; those that preserve the natural glenohumeral centre such as the Bayley-Walker (B-W) replacement and those medializing it such as Delta. A biomechanical model of the shoulder was used to evaluate the biomechanical characteristics of these prostheses. The moment arms of the shoulder muscles were predicted for the implanted models over a wide workspace and were compared to those of natural anatomy. The deltoid muscle moment arms through almost all of the range of motion in the Delta model were greatest. As a result the shoulder joint contact force was decreased for this implant. Furthermore, although the B-W model predicted similar moment arms to natural anatomy, the contact force decreased owing to change in the joint constraints. Finally, it was concluded that the reverse anatomy can compensate for loss of rotator cuff muscles in terms of joint stability, yet the shoulder function depends on the individual's musculature. 相似文献

Spatial compounding is an imaging technique that aims to improve image contrast by combining partially decor-related images acquired at different angles or positions. In conventional spatial compounding, data sets are combined with equal weighting. Here, we describe an alternative method of reconstruction using algorithms which weight the data based on a "quality" matrix. The quality matrix is derived from beamforming characteristics. For each data set, the reliability of the data is assumed to vary spatially. By compounding the data based on the quality matrix, a complete image is formed. Here, we describe the construction of a rotational translation stage and tissue-mimicking phantoms that are used in conjunction with a commercial medical ultrasound machine to test our reconstruction algorithms. The new algorithms were found to increase the contrast-to-speckle ratio of simulated cysts and tumors by 61% from raw data, and to significantly increase edge definition of small embedded targets. The new method shows promise as a computationally efficient method of improving contrast and resolution in ultrasound images. The method should be particularly useful in breast imaging, where images from multiple angles can be acquired without interference from bone or air. 相似文献

This paper presents the study of the electrochemical oxidation of the pesticide atrazine at a Ti/Ru(0.3)Ti(0.7)O(2) dimensionally stable anodes (DSA). The effect of using different supporting electrolytes (NaCl, NaOH, NaNO(3), NaClO(4), H(2)SO(4) and Na(2)SO(4)) during the galvanostatic electrolysis of atrazine was investigated. It was observed that the removal of atrazine and total organic carbon (TOC) was only achieved at appreciable rates when NaCl was used as the supporting electrolyte, due to the oxidising species formed in this electrolyte (e.g. ClO(-)). Variation of the NaCl concentration demonstrated that, although only low concentrations of NaCl are necessary to result in the complete removal of atrazine in solution, TOC removal is almost linearly dependent on the quantity of NaCl in solution. Examination of the applied current density indicates that the efficiency of TOC removal reaches a maximum at 60 mA cm(-2). Testing of alternative electrode materials containing SnO(2) did not improve the efficiency of atrazine removal in Na(2)SO(4), but in NaCl a small increase was observed. Overall there appears to be no great advantage in using SnO(2)-containing electrodes over the Ti/Ru(0.3)Ti(0.7)O(2) electrode. 相似文献
