This paper presents control charts models and the necessary simulation software for the location of economic values of the control parameters. The simulation program is written in FORTRAN, requires only 10K of main storage, and can run on most mini and micro computers. Two models are presented - one describes the process when it is operating at full capacity and the other when the process is operating under capacity. The models allow the product quality to deteriorate to a further level before an existing out-of-control state is detected, and they can also be used in situations where no prior knowledge exists of the out-of-control causes and the resulting proportion defectives. 相似文献

Studies on cement concrete microstructures are carried out to explain experimentally observed phenomenon and for modeling of concrete at the macroscopic level. In this article, the preparation of polymer impregnated mortar (PIC) is carried out by partially or fully replacing the pores in the cement mortars (OPC) by PMMA. The effect of this polymer impregnation on density and morphology of the cement matrix is studied. The microstructural changes in the mortar, on exposure of these specimens to hydrochloric acid and sea water for 7 and 28 days, are also investigated in this article. The above studies indicated that the polymer addition decreased the voids in the mortar thereby preventing leaching of water soluble salts present in the OPC. It was observed that the polymer also prevented the external chemical media from permeating into the cement matrix and undergoing interactions with it. A linear stability model was formulated to analyze the perturbation of solid polymer surfaces. Surface energy and thermal stress were considered as the main variables. The surface tends to more unstable as the temperature increase. This paper presents research work on the characteristics and micro mechanism of strain whitening of a thermoplastic olefin material. Systematic tensile tests have been carried out to investigate the relation between strain whitening extent and external factors, including the deformation employed and the environmental temperature. A new optical method has been developed for the measurement of strain on polymer tensile samples. Applying this method relation between whitening level (grey level change) and strain has been studied. A new concept of ‘strain whitening sensitivity’ has been proposed and defined as the strain whitening induced by unit deformation or strain. Non-monotonic relation between whitening level and strain has been found. Strained and fractured samples were observed with A JEOL 5800 LV SEM for the micro mechanism investigation. The change of microstructure on the sample surface has been extensively observed and the combined effects of small ridges and micro-voids on the scattering efficiency of the strained surface were regarded as reasons for the non-monotonic relation between whitening level and strain. 相似文献

The analysis of the Er-doped silica glass films (62%SiO2–30%B2O3–8%P2O5 + 0.2 wt%. Er2O3) etch mechanism in the CF4/O2 inductively coupled plasma was carried out using the combination of simplified models for plasma chemistry and etch kinetics.
As the O2 mixing ratio in the CF4/O2 plasma increases from 0% to 30%, the etch rate decreases monotonically in the range of 385–190 nm/min that contradicts with
the behavior of F atom density and flux. From the model-based analysis, it was found that, at low ion bombardment energies,
the etch process followed the formal kinetics of ion-assisted chemical reaction and was controlled by both neutral and ion

A new process using SiC fiber fabrics and SiC tapes to produce dense 2D SiC fiber-SiC (SiC/SiC) composites is demonstrated.
The strategy for fabricating the SiC/SiC composites involves: (i) alternately stacking the SiC fiber fabrics and SiC tapes
at room temperature, (ii) pyrolyzing of the stacked composites, and (iii) hot-pressing the pyrolyzed composites. By controlling
the hot-pressing temperature, it is possible to obtain dense 2D SiC/SiC composites with relative densities of >98%. The 2D

Crystalline β-Ta2 O5 coatings were deposited on hot-isostatically-pressed Si3 N4 by reacting TaCl5 with H2 and CO2 in the temperature range of 1000°–1300°C and at a pressure of 660 Pa. The Ta2 O5 coatings generally consisted of wellcoalesced 2–3 μm grains, resulting in the formation of a nonporous coating morphology. However, the presence of microcracks on the as-deposited surface was consistently observed.
