High aspect ratio microstructures are currently created by several processes which include lithography (X-ray, deep ultraviolet,
etc.) and mechanical machining (diamond machining, microdrilling, etc.). The lithographic processes require more extensive
processing equipment such as an energy source, mask/mask holder/mask aligner, photoresist and substrate, and chemical development
capacity. In addition, these processes are serial in nature and each adds to the tolerances of the finished structure. The
current mechanical processes provide for the direct removal of the substrate material in a single step but are more limited
in the geometric patterns which can be created. In conventional machining, the process which provides the most versatility
in geometric patterns is milling. The micromilling process has two basic components. The first is the fabrication of small
milling cutters with very sharp cutting edges. The second is the actual removal of the workpiece material with a very precise
and repeatable machine tool. Several basic cutter designs have been fabricated using focused ion beam micromachining and are
undergoing testing. The cutter diameters are nominally 100 micrometers and 22 micrometers. Results have been obtained which
show that this process can be very effective for the rapid fabrication of molds and mask structures.

In this paper we report a comparison concerning the properties of BaTiO3 (BTO) ceramics obtained by two soft chemical routes, modified Pechini method and thermal decomposition of oxalate-based precursor. XRD data show the formation of single phase BaTiO3 with tetragonal symmetry when the polymeric citrate-based precursor was annealed at 850 °C, 2 h. In the case of oxalate based-precursor, longer thermal treatment is required to obtain BaTiO3 free of any secondary phases. For BaTiO3 powders prepared by modified Pechini method, TEM and SEM investigations revealed the obtaining of uniformly sized particles forming spherical agglomerates inside large, non-uniform and partially sintered aggregates. The powders synthesized via oxalate route show particles of various sizes, with the same tendency of spherical agglomerates formation, but unlike the modified Pechini synthesis, more uniform and smaller aggregates with well-defined hexagonal-like shape were noticed. The relative permittivity values of 6,478 and 5,088 at Curie temperatures of 127 and 130 °C and low dielectric losses (tan δ?=?0.012) at room temperature were obtained for ceramic samples synthesized via Pechini method and oxalate route, respectively. 相似文献

The reaction between NiCO3 · Ni(OH)2, acrylic acid and ethylenediamine in a 2:4:1 molar ratio affords the binuclear complex, [Ni2(EDDP)2(H2O)2] · 2H2O 1. The organic ligand, EDDP2? (the dianion of the ethylenediamine-N,N-dipropionic acid ligand), results from the addition of one amine group to the carbon–carbon double bonds of two acrylato ions. The crystal structure of 1 consists of neutral centrosymmetric entities, with the nickel ions connected by two carboxylato groups, each one acting as a monoatomic bridge. The intramolecular Ni?Ni distance is 3.212 Å. The metal ions exhibit an octahedral geometry. Apical membrane antigen 1 is a microneme protein which plays an indispensable role during Apicomplexa parasite invasion. The detailed mechanism of AMA-1 molecular interaction with its receptor on bovine erythrocytes has not been completely defined in Babesia bovis. This study was focused on identifying the minimum B. bovis AMA-1-derived regions governing specific and high-affinity binding to its target cells. Different approaches were used for detecting ama-1 locus genetic variability and natural selection signatures. The binding properties of twelve highly conserved 20-residue-long peptides were evaluated using a sensitive and specific binding assay based on radio-iodination. B. bovis AMA-1 ectodomain structure was modelled and refined using molecular modelling software. NetMHCIIpan software was used for calculating B- and T-cell epitopes. The B. bovis ama-1 gene had regions under functional constraint, having the highest negative selective pressure intensity in the Domain I encoding region. Interestingly, B. bovis AMA-1-DI (100YMQKFDIPRNHGSGIYVDLG119 and 120GYESVGSKSYRMPVGKCPVV139) and DII (302CPMHPVRDAIFGKWSGGSCV321)-derived peptides had high specificity interaction with erythrocytes and bound to a chymotrypsin and neuraminidase-treatment sensitive receptor. DI-derived peptides appear to be exposed on the protein’s surface and contain predicted B- and T-cell epitopes. These findings provide data (for the first-time) concerning B. bovis AMA-1 functional subunits which are important for establishing receptor-ligand interactions which could be used in synthetic vaccine development. 相似文献
