Lipophilic compounds are of significant importance in modern biotechnology. Centerly of interest are the biodegradation as well as the biotransformation of such lipophilic and often water-immiscible substances. Both whole cells and/or enzymes are used for these processes. It is obvious that a wide range of problems arise in an application of such complex systems consisting of biocatalysts substrate(s), product(s), water, (in some cases water-immiscible organic solvents): (i) interactions between lipophilic compounds and the membranes resulting in the change of some physiological characteristics of the living system; (ii) problems in the transport of these compounds (substrates and/or products) within the complex structured reaction systems; (iii) the problem of increasing the solubility of the lipophilic and mostly water-immiscible compounds with a minimum of inhibition effects on the processes; (iv) the presence of lipophilic components may also cause changes of the transport processes within the system (e.g. immobilized cells) resulting in changed yield or activity of the biological system. These problems are critically discussed in this review in relation to the known modes of interaction of lipophilic compounds with membranes, the bioavailability of the substrates, and the cases of steroid biotransformations. An outlook of future aspects in research, development and application of such processes is given.  相似文献

Increasing the level of spacecraft autonomy is essential for broadening the reach of solar system exploration. Computer vision has and will continue to play an important role in increasing autonomy of both spacecraft and Earth-based robotic vehicles. This article addresses progress on computer vision for planetary rovers and landers and has four main parts. First, we review major milestones in the development of computer vision for robotic vehicles over the last four decades. Since research on applications for Earth and space has often been closely intertwined, the review includes elements of both. Second, we summarize the design and performance of computer vision algorithms used on Mars in the NASA/JPL Mars Exploration Rover (MER) mission, which was a major step forward in the use of computer vision in space. These algorithms did stereo vision and visual odometry for rover navigation and feature tracking for horizontal velocity estimation for the landers. Third, we summarize ongoing research to improve vision systems for planetary rovers, which includes various aspects of noise reduction, FPGA implementation, and vision-based slip perception. Finally, we briefly survey other opportunities for computer vision to impact rovers, landers, and orbiters in future solar system exploration missions.  相似文献

Rats received a protein-deficient standard diet and, separately at different hours of the day, protein (casein). The control group was given the standard diet added with casein. The livers of the rats were examined for histological and ultrastructural changes. The smallest changes were observed in animals which had received protein at eight o'clock. The control animals and the animals which had received protein at thirteen and nineteen o'clock, respectively, showed slight fatty infiltration of the liver.  相似文献

Aluminium specimens of pre-caused defects are tensile tested at different temperatures. The defects are differently oriented to the tensile axis. The results have undergone statistical processing integrated with fundamental fracture approach. Analytical model to prognosticate the metal reliability in the range of applied tensile stresses is found. A method for evaluation of the defects orientation effect on fracture is suggested. The behaviour of some stabilizing additives to poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PETP) is studied in the model oxidation reaction of isopropylbenzene. Silica hybrid materials containing tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) as SiO2 precursor, hydroxypropyl cellulose (HPC) as an organic compound with incorporation of silver were prepared, and their structure and surface morphology were examined by FTIR measurements and SEM. The quantity of organic substance was 5 wt.% and the silver concentration varied from 0.5 to 2.5 wt.%. It is suggested that the main structural units build an amorphous network of synthesized hybrids from depolymerized [SiO4] tetrahedra giving strong bands at 1050 and 790 cm? 1. The surface morphology changed from smooth to rough with the increasing amount of silver. The possible antibacterial behavior of the hybrid materials was also studied. The results indicate pronounced antibacterial performance against Escherichia coli and Bacillus subtilis. Highest antibacterial activity was detected against B. subtilis. The increase of silver concentration up to 2.5 wt.% Ag leads to stronger antibacterial effects with both strains.  相似文献
