The occurrence and localization of neurotrophins and their specific TrK receptor-like proteins in the adrenal gland of chicken, duck and ostrich were examined by immunohistochemical methods. In all species studied NGF-, TrK A- and TrK C-like immunoreactivity was observed in neurons and fibers of adrenal ganglia. Thin TrK A- and TrK C-like immunoreactive fibers were also observed among chromaffin cells. NT-3-like immunoreactivity was detected in chromaffin cells as revealed by the double immunolabelings NT-3/chromogranin A and NT-3/DbetaH. The interrenal tissue never showed IR to any neurotrophins and TrK tested, and none of the adrenal structures displayed immunoreactivity to BDNF and TrK B. Double immunolabelings NGF/TrK A, NGF/TrK C and TrK A/TrK C showed colocalization in some neurons and fibers in adrenal ganglia. In adrenal glands of the species studied, the distribution of neurotrophins and TrK receptors could suggest an involvement of NT-3 on neuronal populations innervating adrenal ganglia by means of its high affinity receptor TrK C and low affinity receptor TrK A. In addition, NGF could be utilized by neuronal populations of adrenal ganglia through its preferential receptor TrK A by an autocrine or paracrine modality of action.  相似文献

Concentrations of total and organic mercury, cadmium, lead, copper, iron, manganese and zinc were determined in the muscular tissue of 135 specimens of Aristeus antennatus (Risso, 1816) collected during a 3-year period in the Ligurian sea (NW Mediterranean). The aim of the present work was to study the relationships between the concentrations of these trace elements and the main biological parameters characterising the organisms, i.e. sex and size with special attention to the sexual maturity of the female specimens. Mercury is the only element showing a significant correlation with the size of the specimens, and for this reason it could give some indications about the age of the shrimps. However, comparison between females collected at four different reproductive phases shows that reproductive individuals are characterised by higher levels of mercury with respect to non-reproductive individuals of the same size.  相似文献

In this work, yeast of the genus Candida was screened by means of shaken-flask and jar fermentations. Two strains, Candida lipolytica Cooper and ATCC 8661, were selected. Their citric acid productivity was 0.79 and 0.67 g g?1 of n-paraffins consumed, respectively, and their citric: total citric and isocitric acid ratios ranged from 0.82 to 0.93, respectively. The experimental results (cell growth and total citric and isocitric acid formation) were described by using an unstructured kinetic model which has been proposed previously (standard error was less than 10%). Moreover, each independent kinetic parameter was correlated with the aeration rate of the culture medium by means of empirical regressions. Aeration of the culture medium showed a large influence on the product yield. For instance, the strain C. lipolytica Cooper exhibited the highest productivity among the examined strains, associated with the largest air consumption.  相似文献

Leptin is a modulator of food intake and energy homeostasis both in mammals and in some species of nonmammals vertebrates. In this study, we reported for the first time, using an immunohistochemical and immunochemical approach, the presence and distribution of immunoreactivity to leptin-like protein in the gastroenteric tract of Dicentrarchus labrax (bass) and Carassius auratus (goldfish), two teleostean species with different feeding and different adaptative morphological organization of the gastroenteric tract. Bass stomach showed intense immunoreactivity to leptin-like protein in all regions, with immunoreactive cells located at the base of the mucosal plicae and at the apical margin of the gastric crypts. Immunoreactive fibers and neuronal cells were observed close to vascular structures in the pyloric region. In bass and goldfish intestine, rare immunoreactive cells were observed along the mucosal epithelium mostly at the base or the apex of intestinal folds in the proximal and medium intestine; numerous immunoreactive nerve fibers in the circular and longitudinal layers of the tunica muscolaris as well as in the myenteric plexus were observed. Western blot analysis recognized a ~15 kDa signal with a similar expression pattern for goldfish and sea bass. Our results could contribute to confirm the evolutive conservation of leptin-like proteins and their probably precocious functional diversification in fish.  相似文献

Multiscale polymeric composites combining a biodegradable matrix with low cost and biocompatible hybrid nanocarriers promise to supply a new generation of multipurpose devices for drug delivery. The aim of this work was to investigate the release mechanisms of sodium benzoate (NaBz ) from halloysite nanotubes (HNTs ) embedded in a biodegradable polymer matrix (poly(?‐caprolactone)). To that purpose, different amounts of NaBz molecules were successfully incorporated into HNTs using a simple environmentally friendly procedure. The resulting HNT‐NaBz nano‐hybrids were then incorporated into a poly(?‐caprolactone) matrix by high energy ball milling at ambient temperature and in dry conditions. Analysis of the resulting composites showed important effects of the HNT‐NaBz nano‐hybrids on the thermal and mechanical properties. Controlled drug release, followed by UV spectrophotometry, was also found to be dependent on the HNT‐NaBz relative fractions. Experimental data were thus analyzed using a modified Gallagher ? Corrigan model and correlated with the nano‐hybrid morphologies. © 2016 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

A rapid and simple procedure to detect irradiated food containing fat is proposed. This method is based on HS-SPME coupled with GC-MS to determine the presence of a radiolytic product in irradiated meats: 2-dodecylcyclobutanone (2-DCB) and is proposed as an alternative to EN 1785:2003, which is a long and complex procedure. The qualitative confirmation method is validated on different type of meats: chicken, turkey, duck, beef, pork on both nonirradiated and irradiated samples at different dose levels (0.05, 0.12, 0.5, 1.0 and 3.0 kGy) with a biological X-ray irradiator. The validation parameters investigated are selectivity, minimum dose level (MDL), limit of detection (LOD), sensitivity and specificity. The MDL and LOD values were 0.5 kGy and 5.0 ng mL−1, respectively, for all matrices. No false positives or false negatives occurred, and 100% of samples were correctly identified. The results show that HS-SPME GC-MS is suitable for routine analysis.  相似文献

The mechanism of particle formation from submicrometer emulsion droplets by solvent evaporation is revisited. A combination of dynamic light scattering, fluorescence resonance energy transfer, zeta potential measurements, and fluorescence cross‐correlation spectroscopy is used to analyze the colloids during the evaporation process. It is shown that a combination of different methods yields reliable and quantitative data for describing the fate of the droplets during the process. The results indicate that coalescence plays a minor role during the process; the relatively large size distribution of the obtained polymer colloids can be explained by the droplet distribution after their formation.  相似文献
