This paper proposes an approach that solves the Robot Localization problem by using a conditional state-transition Hidden Markov Model (HMM). Through the use of Self Organized Maps (SOMs) a Tolerant Observation Model (TOM) is built, while odometer-dependent transition probabilities are used for building an Odometer-Dependent Motion Model (ODMM). By using the Viterbi Algorithm and establishing a trigger value when evaluating the state-transition updates, the presented approach can easily take care of Position Tracking (PT), Global Localization (GL) and Robot Kidnapping (RK) with an ease of implementation difficult to achieve in most of the state-of-the-art localization algorithms. Also, an optimization is presented to allow the algorithm to run in standard microprocessors in real time, without the need of huge probability gridmaps.  相似文献

The control of the relative humidity and the temperature is important for the birds to be born. It is not easy to control the relative humidity, but it is possible to obtain the measure of the relative humidity as a consequence of the control of the temperature in a bird incubator. In this article, (1) the mathematical model for the control of temperature in the bird incubator is presented, (2) a functional network to approximate the relative humidity behavior in the bird incubator is proposed, (3) a control for the temperature in the bird incubator is proposed, the error of the proportional control applied to the mathematical model of the temperature of the bird incubator is assured to be uniformly stable, (4) the comparison results of four classic control laws for the control of the temperature considering the proposed mathematical model of the temperature and the functional network to approximate the relative humidity behavior in the bird incubator are presented.  相似文献

Multiaxial fatigue and failure analysis of helical compression springs   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Multiaxial fatigue criteria are applied to the analysis of helical compression springs. The critical plane approaches, Fatemi–Socie and Wang–Brown, and the Coffin–Manson method based on shear deformation, were used to predict fatigue lives of the springs under constant amplitude loading. Experimental fatigue lives are compared with the multiaxial fatigue criteria predictions. The stress analysis was carried out in the finite element code ANSYS, and the multiaxial fatigue study was performed using the fatigue software nCode. A failure analysis was conducted in order to determine the fatigue crack initiation point and a comparison of that location with the most damaged zone predicted by the numerical analysis is made. The Fatemi–Socie critical plane approach gives a good prediction of fatigue life. While the Wang–Brown criterion overestimates spring fatigue life, the Coffin–Mason model gives conservative results.  相似文献

A fiber-optic sensor sensitive to hydrogen peroxide has been designed based on the electrostatic layer-by-layer self-assembly method. Prussian blue has been deposited in a polymeric structure formed by Poly(allylamine hydrochloride) and poly(acrylic acid). The concentration that can be detected range between 10/sup -6/-10/sup -3/ M, and recovery of the sensor after immersion into a reductive agent was demonstrated. The response of the sensor is independent of the pH for values that range between 4-7.4. Some rules for estimation of the refractive index of the material deposited and the thickness of the bilayers are also presented.  相似文献

Electronic neuromorphic devices with on-chip, on-line learning should be able to modify quickly the synaptic couplings to acquire information about new patterns to be stored (synaptic plasticity) and, at the same time, preserve this information on very long time scales (synaptic stability). Here, we illustrate the electronic implementation of a simple solution to this stability-plasticity problem, recently proposed and studied in various contexts. It is based on the observation that reducing the analog depth of the synapses to the extreme (bistable synapses) does not necessarily disrupt the performance of the device as an associative memory, provided that 1) the number of neurons is large enough; 2) the transitions between stable synaptic states are stochastic; and 3) learning is slow. The drastic reduction of the analog depth of the synaptic variable also makes this solution appealing from the point of view of electronic implementation and offers a simple methodological alternative to the technological solution based on floating gates. We describe the full custom analog very large-scale integration (VLSI) realization of a small network of integrate-and-fire neurons connected by bistable deterministic plastic synapses which can implement the idea of stochastic learning. In the absence of stimuli, the memory is preserved indefinitely. During the stimulation the synapse undergoes quick temporary changes through the activities of the pre- and postsynaptic neurons; those changes stochastically result in a long-term modification of the synaptic efficacy. The intentionally disordered pattern of connectivity allows the system to generate a randomness suited to drive the stochastic selection mechanism. We check by a suitable stimulation protocol that the stochastic synaptic plasticity produces the expected pattern of potentiation and depression in the electronic network.  相似文献

In the access to image databases, queries based on the appearing visual features of searched data reduce the gap between the user and the engineering representation. To support this access modality, image content can be modeled in terms of different types of features such as shape, texture, color, and spatial arrangement. An original framework is presented which supports quantitative nonsymbolic representation and comparison of the mutual positioning of extended nonrectangular spatial entities. Properties of the model are expounded to develop an efficient computation technique and to motivate and assess a metric of similarity for quantitative comparison of spatial relationships. Representation and comparison of binary relationships between entities is then embedded into a graph-theoretical framework supporting representation and comparison of the spatial arrangements of a picture. This work describes a color Vision-based System intended to perform stable autonomous driving on unmarked roads. Accordingly, this implies the development of an accurate road surface detection system that ensures vehicle stability. Although this topic has already been documented in the technical literature by different research groups, the vast majority of the already existing Intelligent Transportation Systems are devoted to assisted driving of vehicles on marked extra urban roads and highways. The complete system was tested on the BABIECA prototype vehicle, which was autonomously driven for hundred of kilometers accomplishing different navigation missions on a private circuit that emulates an urban quarter. During the tests, the navigation system demonstrated its robustness with regard to shadows, road texture, and weather and changing illumination conditions.  相似文献

Searching information through the Internet often requires users to separately contact several digital libraries, use each library interface to author the query, analyze retrieval results and merge them with results returned by other libraries. Such a solution could be simplified by using a centralized server that acts as a gateway between the user and several distributed repositories: The centralized server receives the user query, forwards the user query to federated repositories—possibly translating the query in the specific format required by each repository—and fuses retrieved documents for presentation to the user. To accomplish these tasks efficiently, the centralized server should perform some major operations such as: resource selection, query transformation and data fusion. In this paper we report on some aspects of MIND, a system for managing distributed, heterogeneous multimedia libraries (MIND, 2001, http://www.mind-project.org). In particular, this paper focusses on the issue of fusing results returned by different image repositories. The proposed approach is based on normalization of matching scores assigned to retrieved images by individual libraries. Experimental results on a prototype system show the potential of the proposed approach with respect to traditional solutions.  相似文献

The SlipReactionFoamSintering (SRFS)‐ process is a metallurgical method to produce open‐cell metallic foams of iron based materials, steels and nickel based materials. In this process several chemical reactions take place. Through the most influential parameter, the morphology of the metallic powder, different properties of the foam can be adjusted, such as the viscosity of the slip, the cell structure and the mechanical properties. Several examples are presented in this paper. Moreover, the thermal conductivity of three foams is measured with the transient‐heat‐source‐technique.  相似文献
