Self-blocking reversible ratchet clutch

The proposed self-blocking reversible ratchet clutch permits the transmission of rotation in only one direction, with automatic self-blocking. Its operating principle is considered. A formula for the self-blocking torque is presented.     

Model of tritium dispersion by ground water

A three-dimensional model of ground-water contamination in the zone of a steady source of tritium is presented. The model is oriented toward long-term modeling of contamination (for up to several decades) on a large area (of up to several hundred square kilometers) where the contaminant arrives through the roof of the aquiferous stratum by infiltration. The three-dimensional equation of convective diffusion is solved numerically by the method of splitting. The convective component is calculated by the method of particles. The dispersion component of the transfer is calculated using the finite-difference method. A transformation of the vertical coordinate is introduced. Distribution propagation in estimating measurement uncertainty

Arguments are presented that show that it is ineffective to replace distribution propagation by uncertainty propagation in estimating the uncertainty of measurements, which has a bearing on the accuracy and difficulty of estimating indirect-measurement uncertainties with nonlinear transformations from input data. __________ Translated from Izmeritel’naya Tekhnika, No. 2, pp. 15–18, February, 2008.     

Investigation of electronic conductivity of liquid argon-nitrogen mixtures

Electron drift velocities and the electron attachment coefficients for electronegative impurities are measured in liquid argon-nitrogen mixtures. It is shown that nitrogen molecules have no electronegativity.
