Silk fibers suffer from microstructural changes due to various external environmental conditions including daily washings. In this paper, we take the backscattering Mueller matrix images of silk samples for non-destructive and real-time quantitative characterization of the wavelength-scale microstructure and examination of the effects of washing by different detergents. The 2D images of the 16 Mueller matrix elements are reduced to the frequency distribution histograms (FDHs) whose central moments reveal the dominant structural features of the silk fibers. A group of new parameters are also proposed to characterize the wavelength-scale microstructural changes of the silk samples during the washing processes. Monte Carlo (MC) simulations are carried out to better understand how the Mueller matrix parameters are related to the wavelength-scale microstructure of silk fibers. The good agreement between experiments and simulations indicates that the Mueller matrix polarimetry and FDH based parameters can be used to quantitatively detect the wavelength-scale microstructural features of silk fibers. Mueller matrix polarimetry may be used as a powerful tool for non-destructive and in situ characterization of the wavelength-scale microstructures of silk based materials. 相似文献

In this work, multifunctional coordination polymer (CP) nanoparticles with strong single peak upconversion emission and high drug loading capacity were prepared via a facile solvothermal method. Various experimental parameters, such as reaction time, reaction temperature and reagent concentration were studied in detail. A series of measurements were carried out to characterize the product. Results show the CP particles with a mean diameter of approximately 80 nm can be prepared by finely selecting the preparation conditions. Strong single peak upconversion emission centering at 675 nm is observed on excitation with 980 nm laser. Drug loading and releasing experiments reveal that the CP nanospheres have a loading capacity of 200 mg/g and 50.3 % of the loaded fluorescein isothiocyanate can be released in 18 h. Cytotoxicity study displays that the CP nanospheres are biocompatible. 相似文献

The crystal structure, electronic structure, and optical properties of Eu-doped γ-AlON at various Eu concentrations were obtained from density functional theory. Based on the calculated results, the luminescence properties and mechanism of Eu-doped γ-AlON are discussed. The calculated results demonstrate that AlON:Eu2+ phosphor exhibits a direct band gap, which is advantageous for luminescence. The absorption spectrum of AlON:Eu2+ phosphor has a single intense broad absorption band from 275 to 425 nm with a peak at 355 nm, which is consistent with corresponding experimental excitation spectra. The existence of Eu?N bonds enhanced the local covalence of Eu2+, hence the optical stability of AlON:Eu2+ phosphor. 相似文献

Traditionally, SiC components with complex shapes are very difficult or even impossible to fabricate. This paper aims to develop a new manufacturing process, combining selective laser sintering (SLS), cold isostatic pressing (CIP) and polymer infiltration pyrolysis (PIP), to manufacture complex silicon carbide parts and improve the mechanical properties of silicon carbide ceramic parts. The density and porosity of SiC/SiC composites were measured. Furthermore, the mechanical properties of the specimens with cold isostatic pressing and the specimens without cold isostatic pressing were compared. The bending strength of the specimens with cold isostatic pressing was 201?MPa, and the elastic modulus was 1.27?GPa. And, the bending strength of the specimens without cold isostatic pressing was 142?MPa, and the elastic modulus was 0.88?GPa.
