Multivariate process capability indices (MPCIs) have been proposed to measure multivariate process capability in real-world application over the past three decades. For the practitioner's point of view, the intention of this paper is to examine the performances and distributional properties of probability-based MPCIs. Considering issues of construction of capability indices in multivariate setup and computation with performance, we found that probability-based MPCIs are a proper generalization of univariate basic process capability indices (PCIs). In the beginning of this decade, computation of probability-based indices was a difficult and time-consuming task, but in the computer age statistics, computation of probability-based MPCIs is simple and quick. Recent work on the performance of MPCI NMCpm and distributional properties of its estimator reasonably recommended this index, for use in practical situations. To study distributional properties of natural estimators of probability-based MPCIs and recommended index estimator, we conducted simulation study. Though natural estimators of probability-based indices are negatively biased, they are better with respect to mean, relative bias, mean square error. Probability-based MPCI MCpm is better as compared with NMCpm with respect to performance and as its estimator quality. Hence, in real-world practice, we recommend probability-based MPCIs as a multivariate analogue of basic PCIs. 相似文献

Epoxy syntactic foams that are capable of withstanding use-temperatures in the range of 106 to 175°C were fabricated with
DGEBA or novolac based epoxy resins and appropriate amine hardener materials. These foams were characterized for dynamic mechanical
properties in single cantilever mode. The storage modulus, loss modulus and tan δ values were recorded over a wide temperature
range. A typical density value of around 0.45 g/cm3 of the syntactic foams made respectively from a cycloaliphatic amine hardener, aromatic amine hardener-I, aromatic amine
hardener-II recorded storage modulus (E′) values of 1354 MPa, 1500 MPa and 1530 MPa respectively and tan δ values of 0.0139,
0.0090, 0.01039 respectively at 30°C. The storage modulus values gradually decreased with increasing temperature while the
loss modulus values showed corresponding gradual increase in the same temperature range. There is a steep variation in these
values when the material softens in the vicinity of the glass transition temperature (T
g) indicating the upper temperature limits to which they can be put in use. The reduction in the storage modulus values with
increasing temperature and the glass transition temperature values are characteristic of the resin/hardener systems as well

The current reconnaissance emphasis on spanwise cosinusoidally fluctuating temperature along with time deepened as well as radiation absorption on unsteady magneto-hydrodynamics free convective heat and mass transfer boundary layer flow with viscous dissipation, constant suction normal to an infinite hot vertical porous plate in the existence of chemical reaction by means of heat generation. The analytical solution of nonlinear PDE's governing the flow has been accomplished by employing a second-order multiple regular perturbation method within the stipulated boundary conditions. Velocity, temperature, concentration as well as Sherwood have been exemplified graphically; along with Skin friction, and Nusselt numbers are ascertained in tabular form. Eventually, it was found that velocity, temperature, and Skin friction accelerated with the accumulative values of Eckert number and radiation absorption, but conflicting results emerged in the case of Prandtl number. Romania is the 10th largest economy in EU-28 and also one of the fastest growing economies in the region. An end-use energy demand model is developed for Romania to assess energy requirement by sector and by end-use for 2015–2050 period. Industry would surpass residential sector as the largest final energy-consuming sector from 2035 onwards. Services sector would exhibit the fastest growth of energy consumption. Despite expected decline in country’s population, demand for electricity would grow in the future driven by increased household income and expanded services sector, which is relatively electricity intensive. Still, Romania’s per capita electricity consumption would be about half of the EU-28 average. At the end-use level, thermal processes in industry, space heating in the residential and services, and road passenger travel in transport sector would be dominant throughout the study period. An attempt has been made in this paper to experimentally investigate the estimation of rock properties like compressive strength and abrasivity using sound levels produced during drilling. The investigation was carried out on a laboratory scale using small portable pneumatic drilling equipment used in hard rock drilling. For this purpose, a pneumatic drill setup was fabricated for drilling vertical holes. The compressive strength and the abrasivity of various rock samples collected from the field were determined in the laboratory. A set of test conditions were defined for measurement of sound level of the pneumatic drill. Also, with the help of the experimental setup, vertical drilling was carried out on the rock samples for varying thrust and air pressure values and the corresponding A-weighted equivalent continuous sound levels were measured. Results of this study indicate that sound level can be a promising tool in estimating rock properties during drilling. 相似文献
