Microencapsulation can be an alternative to minimize lycopene instability. Thus, the aim of this study was to microencapsulate lycopene by spray drying, using a modified starch (Capsul®) as an encapsulating agent, and to assess the functionality of the capsules applying them in cake. The quantity of lycopene was varied at 5, 10 and 15% in a solution containing 30% of solids in order to obtain the microcapsules. These microcapsules were evaluated as to encapsulation efficiency and morphology and then submitted to a stability test and applied in cakes. Encapsulation efficiency values varied between 21 and 29%. The microcapsules had a rounded outer surface with the formation of concavities and they varied in size. The stability test revealed that microencapsulation offered greater protection to lycopene compared to its free form and it was observed that the microcapsules were able to release pigment and color the studied food system in a homogenous manner.  相似文献

The reproductive performance of cattle may be influenced by several factors, but mineral imbalances are crucial in terms of direct effects on reproduction. Several studies have shown that elements such as calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, selenium, and zinc are essential for reproduction and can prevent oxidative stress. However, toxic elements such as lead, nickel, and arsenic can have adverse effects on reproduction. In this paper, we applied a simple and fast method of multi-element analysis to bovine semen samples from Zebu and European classes used in reproduction programs and artificial insemination. Samples were analyzed by inductively coupled plasma spectrometry (ICP-MS) using aqueous medium calibration and the samples were diluted in a proportion of 1:50 in a solution containing 0.01% (vol/vol) Triton X-100 and 0.5% (vol/vol) nitric acid. Rhodium, iridium, and yttrium were used as the internal standards for ICP-MS analysis. To develop a reliable method of tracing the class of bovine semen, we used data mining techniques that make it possible to classify unknown samples after checking the differentiation of known-class samples. Based on the determination of 15 elements in 41 samples of bovine semen, 3 machine-learning tools for classification were applied to determine cattle class. Our results demonstrate the potential of support vector machine (SVM), multilayer perceptron (MLP), and random forest (RF) chemometric tools to identify cattle class. Moreover, the selection tools made it possible to reduce the number of chemical elements needed from 15 to just 8.  相似文献

The increased demand for multimedia services by mobile end users in recent years have driven both Broadcast and Wireless Network operators to develop new systems and architectures for the deployment of such services. The proposed solutions are nonetheless limited either in terms of QoS or Capabilities to deliver new interactive services. This paper highlights strengths and drawbacks of the existing technologies in terms of QoS, Security and Mobility. In order to fill the gap between current solutions we propose a new architecture that builds itself on the synergies created by a heterogeneous network made of existing delivering technologies, such as 3GPP/MBMS and DVB, where services can be delivered to end-users in the most appropriate way for end-users and operators alike. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this randomized crossover investigation was to assess the biofilm formation on two titanium and one zirconia substrates in relation to the topography and surface roughness of the materials. METHODS: Twenty‐four discs specimens for each evaluated material (Machined pure titanium, Cast pure titanium, or Zirconia) were evaluated after oral cavity exposure in six healthy subjects. The study was conducted in 3 phases according to the material evaluated. Each subject was asked to use a removable splint containing 4 disks of the same tested substrate, 2 located in the anterior, and 2 in the posterior region. Participants were asked to use the intraoral splint during 24 h. The total biofilm covering on the discs was evaluated by 1% of neutral red staining. EMV and surface roughness was carried out to correlate with the biofilm found between different substrates. RESULTS: Data showed higher mean roughness values for zirconia (Zc) when compared with titanium specimens (MPT and CPT; P < 0.001). MPT and CPT presented no differences between them (P > 0.05). The mean percentage (%) of covering biofilm on substrates was 84.14 for MPT, 86.22 for CPT and 90.90 for Zc. CONCLUSION: There were no significant differences in the total area of formed biofilm among the tested groups. Shape memory alloys (SMAs) present the capability to develop large forces and displacements with low power consumption. Due their special characteristics, SMAs have been used in many different applications. Pseudoelastic hysteresis loop observed in austenitic SMAs is associated with energy dissipation. Therefore, pseudoelastic SMA elements can be used as vibration attenuators. Joining methods present some technological challenges for the use of these elements. Welding can strongly affect the properties of the alloy. Mechanical joints using rivets and screws are commonly used but promote stress concentration effects. The use of adhesives offers some benefits, being an alternative to be investigated. This work presents a numerical model based on the finite-element method and experimental procedures to study the behaviour of bonded vibration attenuators with SMA elements. The proposed model considers the pseudoelastic behaviour of SMA elements, and a cohesive zone model was used to study the union between absorber and an aluminium plate. Finally, several loading conditions were analysed with the proposed models to assess the capability of bonded pseudoelastic SMA elements to dissipate energy. The proposed geometry allows the elements to actuate as an efficient vibration attenuator, in particular when submitted to axial loading.  相似文献

The variety of chemical classes present in oils, as well as possible co-elutions in conventional chromatographic separations, makes the identification of biomarkers a difficult task. Comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography (GC × GC) coupled to time-of-flight mass spectrometry (TOFMS) is a powerful tool for overcoming these problems and limitations, since it (i) separates substances using two interconnected capillary columns containing different stationary phases and (ii) uses the fast data acquisition of time-of-flight analyser as a robust registry for GC × GC. In this work, biomarkers present in Brazilian oils were identified both individually and in groups by GC × GC-TOFMS much better than in previous works using one-dimensional GC. In the extracted ion chromatograms (EIC) for ions of mass-to-charge ratio (m/z) 191, co-elutions between tri- and pentacyclic terpanes were resolved in the second column. Noteworthy separation between the C30 hopane and C30R demethylated homohopane was observed. Overlap of hopanes with steranes in the m/z 217 EIC was eliminated. Besides hopanes, demethylated tri- and tetracyclic terpanes were identified and reported for the first time in Brazilian oil samples. These results indicate the superiority of GC × GC-TOFMS as a technique for separation and identification of biomarkers in oils.  相似文献

This study investigated the differences in the consumers’ quality perception of national branded, national store branded, and imported store branded beef. Partial Least Squares analysis is used for modelling the quality perception process. Results show that consumers perceived national branded Carnalentejana beef, as better on all quality cues and quality aspects than the other two store branded beefs. Preference for Carnalentejana beef stayed highly consistent even after the blind test, where consumers differentiated this beef from the other two beef brands on all sensory dimensions: taste, tenderness, and juiciness, and chose it as the preferred one. Consumers utilized more perceived intrinsic cues to infer expected eating quality of store branded beefs.  相似文献

We study the dynamics of a Z 2Z 2-equivariant vector field in the neighbourhood of a heteroclinic network with a periodic trajectory and symmetric equilibria. We assume that around each equilibrium the linearization of the vector field has non-real eigenvalues. Trajectories starting near each node of the network turn around in space either following the periodic trajectory or due to the complex eigenvalues near the equilibria. Thus, in a network with rotating nodes, the rotations combine with transverse intersections of two-dimensional invariant manifolds to create switching near the network; close to the network, there are trajectories that visit neighbourhoods of the saddles following all the heteroclinic connections of the network in any given order. Our results are motivated by an example where switching was observed numerically by forced symmetry breaking of an asymptotically stable network with O(2) symmetry.  相似文献

Hydrogen production via steam electrolysis may involve less electrical energy consumption than conventional low temperature water electrolysis, reflecting the improved thermodynamics and kinetics at elevated temperatures. The present paper reports on the development of a one-dimensional dynamic model of a cathode-supported planar intermediate temperature solid oxide electrolysis cell (SOEC) stack. The model, which consists of an electrochemical model, a mass balance, and four energy balances, is here employed to study the steady state behaviour of an SOEC stack at different current densities and temperatures. The simulations found that activation overpotentials provide the largest contributions to irreversible losses while concentration overpotentials remained negligible throughout the stack. For an average current density of 7000 A m−2 and an inlet steam temperature of 1023 K, the predicted electrical energy consumption of the stack is around 3 kW h per normal m3 of hydrogen, significantly smaller than those of low temperature stacks commercially available today. However, the dependence of the stack temperature distribution on the average current density calls for strict temperature control, especially during dynamic operation.  相似文献

The action of various proteases was tested for preparing whey protein concentrate (WPC) hydrolysates with high degree of hydrolysis (DH), appropriate peptide profiles and reduced phenylalanine (Phe) content. The peptide profile analysis included the fractionation of hydrolysates by size‐exclusion HPLC. The rapid correct fraction area method was used to quantify the components of the chromatographic fractions. Activated carbon (AC) was used to remove Phe, and its efficiency was evaluated by measuring the amount of Phe by second‐derivative spectrophotometry. The results showed that the DH of WPC hydrolysates increased and that the protease from Aspergillus oryzae yielded the highest DH value. This protease also produced the best peptide profile, that is, the highest di‐ and tripeptide content (16.14%), the highest amounts of free amino acids (18.43%) and the lowest amount of large peptides (18.76%). The proteases from both A. oryzae and Bacillus subtilis produced the highest Phe removals (79.0 and 77.8%, respectively).  相似文献
