The catalytic activity in the polymerization of styrene has been examined using commercially available simple rare earth metal compounds such as Sm(OiPr)3, Sm(acac)3, Sm(OCOMe)3, SmI2(THF)2 or SmCl3 coupled with Et3Al or methylaluminoxane (MAO). Among these compounds, the Sm(OiPr)3/AlEt3 system shows the highest catalytic activity, especially in the presence of a minor amount of toluene at 60 °C. The random copolymerization of styrene with methyl methacrylate suggests that the present polymerization proceeds with a radical polymerization mechanism. (C5Me5)SmCl3Na(THF) and (C5Me5)SmCl3Li(THF) systems exhibit relatively low catalytic activity, even in the presence of AlEt3. © 2001 Society of Chemical Industry 相似文献

Resorcinol-formaldehyde hydrogels were synthesized by sol-gel polycondensation of resorcinol with formaldehyde in a slightly basic aqueous solution. RF cryogels, RF xerogels, and RF xerogels (MW gels) were respectively prepared from RF hydrogels by freeze drying, hot air drying, and microwave drying. Carbon cryogels, carbon xerogels and carbon MW gels were subsequently obtained by pyrolyzing RF drygels in an inert atmosphere. Freeze drying and microwave drying were effective to prepare mesoporous RF drygels and carbon gels. RF cryogels and carbon cryogels showed high mesoporosity over wide ranges of the molar ratio of resorcinol to catalyst (R/C) and the ratio of resorcinol to water (R/W) used in sol-gel polycondensation. Although RF xerogels had a few mesopores, carbon xerogels had no mesopores. RF MW gels and carbon MW gels showed mesoporosity if appropriate values of R/C and R/W were selected. 相似文献

Solid electrolyte interface (SEI) films formed on Li1−xCoO2 electrodes were observed with hard X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (HX-PES). This paper particularly focuses on film thickness estimation using HX-PES with theoretical calculation. The validity of the calculation was proven by experiments using model SEI films. The native film formed on a LiCoO2 composite electrode was estimated to be LiF with its thickness of 5 nm. Formation of Co (II) species on top of LiCoO2 was also indicated. Storage of the electrode at 60 °C brought about considerable film growth (30-40 nm) with carbonate compounds formation. SEI film changes during charging of the LiCoO2 electrode were also examined. The main component in the film was deduced to be LiF or a kind of fluorite, with its thickness decreased during charging. The SEI formation mechanisms are also elucidated. 相似文献

Various liquid polybutadiene derivatives were examined as modifiers to improve the brittleness of phenolic resins. Amidated polybutadienes obtained from a maleinated polybutadiene and ammonia had the highest curing tendency when they were reacted with resole under mild conditions. The cured resins were homogeneous and the brittleness of the phenolic resins was remarkably improved. Crosslinking efficiency was closely related to the succinamic acid group of the amidated polybutadiene. Thermal behavior of the succinamic acid group was also related to the effects of curing temperature and curing time on crosslinking. From these observations, cross-condensation between the succinamic acid group of an amidated polybutadiene and resole seemed to have occurred to a great extent than the self-condensation of resole itself and oxidative crosslinking of the amidated polybutadiene. 相似文献

Diabetes mellitus is a major cause of chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal disease. However, the management of chronic kidney disease, particularly diabetes, requires vast improvements. Recently, sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitors, originally developed for the treatment of diabetes, have been shown to protect against kidney injury via glycemic control, as well as various other mechanisms, including blood pressure and hemodynamic regulation, protection from lipotoxicity, and uric acid control. As such, regulation of these mechanisms is recommended as an effective multidisciplinary approach for the treatment of diabetic patients with kidney disease. Thus, SGLT2 inhibitors are expected to become key drugs for treating diabetic kidney disease. This review summarizes the recent clinical evidence pertaining to SGLT2 inhibitors as well as the mechanisms underlying their renoprotective effects. Hence, the information contained herein will advance the current understanding regarding the pleiotropic effects of SGLT2 inhibitors, while promoting future research in the field. 相似文献

The effect of low-molecular-weight polyphenols extracted from lychee (Oligonol) on metabolic syndrome characterized by abdominal obesity was examined. We performed a clinical trial for Oligonol conducted by randomized double-blind, placebo-controlled study. Eighteen (male, 14; female, 4) adult volunteers with abdominal circumference over 85 cm were enrolled and divided into two groups, Oligonol and placebo groups. All subjects took two capsules of Oligonol (50 mg/capsule) or placebo twice a day for 10 weeks. Physical and haematological examinations as well as a CT scan of the abdomen were carried out, before (control) and 10 weeks after Oligonol intake. Clinical parameters of body weight, abdominal circumference and visceral fat volume were significantly decreased in the Oligonol group compared to the control. Insulin resistance was improved by Oligonol in conjunction with elevation of serum adiponectin. These results suggest that Oligonol ameliorates metabolic syndrome by reducing visceral fat obesity. 相似文献

A newly developed real-time PCR assay rapidly quantifies the total bacterial numbers in contaminated ready-to-eat vegetables and fruits compared with the standard plate count method. Primers targeting the rpoB gene, which encodes for the beta subunit of the bacterial RNA polymerase and which is common to most bacterial species, was used instead of the 16S rRNA gene, which has multiple copies and varies among bacterial species. A primer pair specific for rpoB was confirmed to amplify rpoB in a wide range of bacterial species after we assessed 49 strains isolated from five kinds of fruits and vegetables. We purchased fruits and vegetables from retail shops and enumerated the bacteria associated with them by use of real-time PCR and compared this to the number found by the culture method. We found a high correlation between the threshold PCR cycle number when compared with the plate count culture number. The real-time PCR assay developed in this study can enumerate the dominant bacterial species in ready-to-eat fruits and vegetables. 相似文献

The existence of more than two liquid states in a single-component substance and the ensuing liquid-liquid transitions (LLTs) has attracted considerable attention because of its counterintuitive nature and its importance in the fundamental understanding of the liquid state. Here we report direct experimental evidence for a genuine (isocompositional) LLT without macroscopic phase separation in an aqueous solution of glycerol. We show that liquid I transforms into liquid II by way of two types of kinetics: nucleation and growth, and spinodal decomposition. Although liquid II is metastable against crystallization, we could access both its static and dynamical properties experimentally. We find that liquids I and II differ in density, refractive index, structure, hydrogen bonding state, glass transition temperature and fragility, and that the transition between the two liquids is mainly driven by the local structuring of water rather than of glycerol, suggesting a link to a plausible LLT in pure water. 相似文献

Ordered structures of barium titanate (BT) nanocubes, strontium titanate (ST) nanocubes and BT/ST nanocubes mixture were directly fabricated on Si and Pt-coated Si substrates using a capillary force assisted assembly method. The morphology of self-assembled structures was observed using field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and scanning probe microscopy (SPM). It was revealed that nanocubes were arranged with various degrees of ordering to develop multilayer and monolayer regions at the surface of substrates. The elemental mapping of the structure consisting of the nanocubes mixture was also investigated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) with an energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX). It was revealed that BT and ST nanocubes coexisted homogeneously in the structure and had possibility to be arranged in order to each other. The piezoresponse properties obtained by scanning probe microscopy (SPM) indicated that the hetero-interface between BT and ST nanocubes would introduce anomaly in piezoelectric properties. 相似文献

Capacitance distribution of {(Ni(0.6)Nb(0.4)(1-x)Zrx}(100-y)-Hy (x = 0.30, 0.35, 0.40, 0.45 and 0.50, 0 < or = y < or = 20) glassy alloy ribbons was carried out by ac impedance analysis at frequency of 1 kHz, in terms of a distributed constant equivalent circuit. The capacitance can be represented by oblique contour lines. The highest capacitance (1-11 microF) could be found near the point when x = 0.40, y = 10, which is a composition occurring room-temperature Coulomb oscillation, while capacitance of the composition (x = 0.35, y = 4) occurring ballistic transport was around 0.8 microF. The capacitance difference would be explained by an effect of hydrogen localization derived from morphology of distorted Zr-centered icosahedral Zr5Ni5Nb3 clusters and ideal Ni-centered clusters. The electrocapillarity equation showed that the specific capacitance between two electrodes increases parabolic with decreasing the distance, as a polarized glutinous liquid. 相似文献
