A kinetic study of the electrochemical oxidation of 1,3,5-trimethoxybenzene (TMB) by direct electron transfer at treated gold disk was combined with results of electrolysis in order to produce total degradation into CO2 and H2O at Ta/PbO2 anode. The oxidation of TMB at gold electrode was studied by cyclic voltammetry. The cyclic voltammogram shows one irreversible anodic peak (I) corresponding to the oxidation of adsorbed TMB molecules. The proposed mechanism is based on the hypothesis of two-electron oxidation of TMB molecule leading, via intermediate of a radical cation, to the formation of the 2,4,6-trimethoxyphenol (TMP) and an adsorbed polymeric film. The TMP molecule undergoes a rapid oxidation leading to the formation of 2,6-dimethoxy-p-benzoquinone (DMBQ) as a major product. Degradation of TMB was studied by galvanostatic electrolysis using Ta/PbO2 anode. The influence of initial TMB concentration and applied current density was investigated. Measurement of total organic carbon (TOC) and analysis by HPLC were used to follow this degradation. The experimental data indicated that the removal of TMB follows a pseudo first-order kinetic. The efficiency of the electrochemical process increases at lower current density and higher TMB initial concentration while it decreases with the TOC removal progress. 相似文献
Internet of things (IoT) and cloud computing (CC) becomes widespread in different application domains such as business, e-commerce, healthcare, etc. The recent developments of IoT technology have led to an increase in large amounts of data from various sources. In IoT enabled cloud environment, load scheduling remains a challenging process which is applied for ensuring network stability with maximum resource utilization. The load scheduling problem was regarded as an optimization problem that is solved by metaheuristics. In this view, this study develops a new Circle Chaotic Chameleon Swarm Optimization based Load Scheduling (C3SOA-LS) technique for IoT enabled cloud environment. The proposed C3SOA-LS technique intends to effectually schedule the tasks and balance the load uniformly in such a way that maximum resource utilization can be accomplished. Besides, the presented C3SOA-LS model involves the design of circle chaotic mapping (CCM) with the traditional chameleon swarm optimization (CSO) algorithm for improving the exploration process, shows the novelty of the work. The proposed C3SOA-LS model computes an objective with the minimization of energy consumption and makespan. The experimental outcome implied that the C3SOA-LS model has showcased improved performance and uniformly balances the load over other approaches. 相似文献
The human body contains a near-infinite supply of energy in chemical, thermal, and mechanical forms. However, the majority of implantable and wearable devices are still operated by batteries, whose insufficient capacity and large size limit their lifespan and increase the risk of hazardous material leakage. Such energy can be used to exceed the battery power limits of implantable and wearable devices. Moreover, novel materials and fabrication methods can be used to create various medical therapies and life-enhancing technologies. This review paper focuses on energy-harvesting technologies used in medical and health applications, primarily power collectors from the human body. Current approaches to energy harvesting from the bodies of living subjects for self-powered electronics are summarized. Using the human body as an energy source encompasses numerous topics: thermoelectric generators, power harvesting by kinetic energy, cardiovascular energy harvesting, and blood pressure. The review considers various perspectives on future research, which can provide a new forum for advancing new technologies for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases by integrating different energy harvesters with advanced electronics. 相似文献
With the increasing growth of the chemical and process industries, it is necessary to ensure the safe operation of their complex and often hazardous installations, given their proximity to residential areas. Several techniques, such as fault tree analysis (FTA), bow-tie analysis (BTA), and Bayesian belief networks (BBNs), have been developed for adequate probabilistic risk assessment and management. The current work is aimed at performing a brief statistical review of the use of Bayesian networks in the chemical and process industry within the last decade. The review reveals that Bayesian networks have been used extensively in various forms of safety and risk assessment. This trend is attributable to the complexity of the installations found in this industry and the ability of BBN to intuitively represent these complexities, handle uncertainties, and update event probabilities. The paper is concluded with an illustrative example of the use of BBN to investigate the effectiveness of the safety barriers of a gas facility.
We have assessed the dose-response relationship of a solution of ropivacaine 2 mg ml-1, given as a continuous extradural infusion to women in labour. A total of 133 parturients were allocated randomly to one of four groups to receive a fixed rate ropivacaine infusion of 4, 6, 8 or 10 ml h-1 with additional bolus doses as necessary. Contraction pain, quality of analgesia, sensory block, motor block and neonatal Apgar scores were assessed. There were no significant differences between groups in terms of analgesia or motor block, although significantly more bolus doses were required by the group receiving 4 ml h-1 (P < 0.05 compared with the other groups), and a significantly higher total dose of ropivacaine was administered to the 10-ml h-1 group compared with the 6-ml h-1 group (P = 0.044). There were no significant differences between groups in terms of obstetric or neonatal outcome. We conclude that ropivacaine 2 mg ml-1 was effective and well tolerated when given as a continuous extradural infusion at 6-8 ml h-1 and may be used as the sole analgesic during labour. 相似文献
This research examines the Saudi Consolidated Electric Company in the Eastern Province, a typical service provider in Saudi Arabia in which service quality is of primary importance. Four gaps have an impact on the consumer's evaluation of service quality: consumer expectation-management perception, service quality specification, service performance, and external communication. The study revealed that Gap 3 (service performance) is more critical than the others in affecting perceived service quality, making service delivery the main area of improvement. Frontline staff also agree that Gap 4 contributed to the problem (i.e., when delivery does not match the company's promises) but to a lesser degree than Gap 3. 相似文献
Post-ischemic left ventricular (LV) remodeling and its hypothetical prevention by repeated remote ischemic conditioning (rRIC) in male Sprague–Dawley rats were studied. Myocardial infarction (MI) was evoked by permanent ligation of the left anterior descending coronary artery (LAD), and myocardial characteristics were tested in the infarcted anterior and non-infarcted inferior LV regions four and/or six weeks later. rRIC was induced by three cycles of five-minute-long unilateral hind limb ischemia and five minutes of reperfusion on a daily basis for a period of two weeks starting four weeks after LAD occlusion. Sham operated animals served as controls. Echocardiographic examinations and invasive hemodynamic measurements revealed distinct changes in LV systolic function between four and six weeks after MI induction in the absence of rRIC (i.e., LV ejection fraction (LVEF) decreased from 52.8 ± 2.1% to 50 ± 1.6%, mean ± SEM, p < 0.05) and in the presence of rRIC (i.e., LVEF increased from 48.2 ± 4.8% to 55.2 ± 4.1%, p < 0.05). Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) activity was about five times higher in the anterior LV wall at six weeks than that in sham animals. Angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) activity roughly doubled in post-ischemic LVs. These increases in ACE and ACE2 activities were effectively mitigated by rRIC. Ca2+-sensitivities of force production (pCa50) of LV permeabilized cardiomyocytes were increased at six weeks after MI induction together with hypophosphorylation of 1) cardiac troponin I (cTnI) in both LV regions, and 2) cardiac myosin-binding protein C (cMyBP-C) in the anterior wall. rRIC normalized pCa50, cTnI and cMyBP-C phosphorylations. Taken together, post-ischemic LV remodeling involves region-specific alterations in ACE and ACE2 activities together with changes in cardiomyocyte myofilament protein phosphorylation and function. rRIC has the potential to prevent these alterations and to improve LV performance following MI. 相似文献
Treatment of the α, β-diketo-ester-α-arylhydrazones 1a–e and 2a–d with GRIGNARD reagents results in the formation of the ketocarbinols 3a–h and 4a–g , respectively. The arylhydrazones of ethyl mesoxalate 5a–e react with phenylmagnesium bromide to yield compounds 3a–e . A novel synthesis of α-arylazo-β-arylchalcones 6a–e and their reaction with hydrazines are reported. Whereas the arylhydrazones 10a, b, 2a, b, d, 13a–c and 14a–c react with piperidine and formaldehyde to yield the MANNICH bases 11a, b, 12a–c and 15a–c , compound 5a was recovered unchanged. 相似文献
