Presented in this paper are the results of a series of column experiments and a pilot scale test conducted to develop the treatment system of freshwater and wastewater by their percolation through soil and the other materials at the rate of a few metres per day. Materials that had high ability to sorb fulvic acid (FA hereafter) and phosphate ion were selected based on the results of the batch sorption tests and were processed into beads before subjecting them to the column test. The results of the column experiment suggested that the reagents added to increase the strength of the beads reduced the sorption of FA, thus causing the early breakthrough of the FA injected into the column. Less effect from the bead processing was observed for the removal of phosphate ion. Pilot scale test showed that the removal of particulate fraction of phosphorus differed among the materials used. The bead processing technique that can ensure the high water permeability while maintaining the sorption capacity of the material was required for further development of the treatment system.  相似文献

The diagnosis of abnormal conditions at current-conducting contacts by measuring the metal-enclosure vibrations of gas-insulated switchgear was studied experimentally and theoretically. Vibrations appeared when current flowed through artificially simulated abnormal contacts. Vibration peaks existed at frequencies which were integral values times the current frequency, especially between 400 Hz and 2 kHz. Vibration peak values increased as contact voltage increased above 400 Hz. Contact voltage waveforms in the stable state were distorted and their top peaks became sharp as the contact voltage increased. We report here an autopsy case of Binswanger's disease (BD) without hypertension and associated with cerebral infarction in the terminal stage. The female patient, who was 74 years old at the time of death, had initially demonstrated manic-depressive disorder-like mental disorder, followed by dementia and neurological deficits. A brain CT scan showed white matter low attenuation bilaterally and symmetrically. BD was clinically diagnosed despite the lack of hypertension. In the terminal stage, she suffered an infarction in the left anterior cerebral artery region, and died of pneumonia. Neuropathologically, we found the infarction of the left anterior cerebral artery region, demyelination, fibrillary gliosis, lacunae and arteriosclerosis of the small arteries and arterioles in the white matter.  相似文献

Recently, there has been considerable interest in various renewable energies. Among them, solar cell production has increased markedly because the photovoltaic is a clean and safe power generation method. The dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) has attracted much attention as an alternative to silicon solar cells due to lower manufacturing costs and plentiful resources for DSSC production. However, the performance of DSSCs has been limited by their durability and low photoelectric conversion efficiency. Temperature control of DSSCs via phase-change materials (PCMs) is expected to improve performance. In this study, DSSCs were heated or cooled with a heat exchanger copper block that was in contact with a PCM (heptadecane), while being irradiated by a solar simulator light source. The durability and photoelectric conversion efficiency of the DSSC improved under PCM temperature control.  相似文献

A conflict between accommodation and vergence is one possible cause of visual fatigue and discomfort while viewing conventional three‐dimensional displays. Previous studies have proposed the super multi‐view (SMV) display technique to solve the vergence–accommodation conflict, in which two or more parallax images enter the pupil of the eye with highly directional rays. We simultaneously measured accommodative, vergence, and pupillary responses to SMV three‐dimensional displays to examine whether they can reduce the conflict. For comparison, responses to two‐view stereo images and real objects were also measured. The results show that the range of the accommodative response was increased by the SMV images compared with the two‐view images. The slope of the accommodation–vergence response function for the SMV images was similar to that for the real objects rather than the two‐view images. We also found that enhancement of the accommodative range by the SMV images is noticeable with binocular viewing, indicating that vergence‐induced accommodation plays an important role in viewing SMV displays. These results suggest that SMV displays induced a more natural accommodative response than did conventional, two‐view stereo displays. As a result, SMV displays reduced the vergence–accommodation conflict.  相似文献

Pd and Pd–Zn alloy were supported on various supporting materials using impregnation, co-precipitation and microemulsion methods, and their catalytic performances in oxidative methanol reforming (OMR) were investigated. Pd/ZnO exhibited much higher selectivity than either Pd/Al2O3 or Pd/ZrO2 in the OMR for hydrogen production. This was attributed to the presence of Pd–Zn alloy on the ZnO support. Elemental Pd on Al2O3 or ZrO2 promotes methanol decomposition reaction and increases CO formation. Using a microemulsion method, a highly selective Pd/ZnO can be obtained with much lower Pd loading than that in samples prepared by co-precipitation. Modification of Al2O3 with ZnO produced a ZnAl2O4 phase, which was found to be a good support for the Pd/ZnO catalyst. Highly active and selective Pd/ZnO/ZnAl2O4 catalysts for the OMR reaction, containing much lower Pd loadings have been developed by impregnation of the supports with an aqueous solution of Pd(NO3)2 + Zn(NO3)2.  相似文献

Fracture behavior of amorphous poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) films added multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) has been compared with that of the PET films added with carbon black (CB) to elucidate the effects of the large aspect ratio of MWCNT. Fracture toughness has been evaluated using the essential work of fracture tests. Evolution of the crazes has been analyzed by conducting time‐resolved small‐angle X‐ray scattering measurements during tensile deformation of the films at room temperature using synchrotron radiation. CB and MWCNT increased the fracture toughness of the PET film by increasing the plastic work of fracture. This resulted from the effects of the fillers to prevent the localization of deformation upon the crazes formed at earlier stages of tensile deformation and to retard the growth of the fibrils in the crazes to a critical length. The CB particles provided a number of sites where the crazes were preferably formed due to stress concentration. In the case of MWCNT, on the other hand, the widening of the crazes formed at earlier stages was suppressed due to the bridging effect arising from the large aspect ratio of MWCNT. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. NiSix films were deposited using chemical vapor deposition (CVD) with a Ni(PF3)4 and Si3H8/H2 gas system. The step coverage quality of deposited NiSix was investigated using a horizontal type of hot-wall low pressure CVD reactor, which maintained a constant temperature throughout the deposition area. The step coverage quality improved as a function of the position of the gas flow direction, where PF3 gas from decomposition of Ni(PF3)4 increased. By injecting PF3 gas into the Ni(PF3)4 and Si3H8/H2 gas system, the step coverage quality markedly improved. This improvement in step coverage quality naturally occurred when PF3 gas was present, indicating a strong relationship. The Si/Ni deposit ratio at 250 °C is larger than at 180 °C. It caused a decreasing relative deposition rate of Ni to Si. PF3 molecules appear to be adsorbed on the surface of the deposited film and interfere with faster deposition of active Ni deposition species.  相似文献
