Pyridylamination is a versatile method for fluorescence labeling of oligosaccharides. The technique affords sensitive detection of saccharides with reducing termini and high-resolution separation by high-performance liquid chromatography. The conventional method, based on a liquid-phase reaction, has been extensively used in various aspects of glycobiology and glycotechnology. Unfortunately, the necessity for removing excess 2-aminopyridine makes the technique both laborious and time-consuming. Furthermore, removal of excess reagent can result in a significant loss of short saccharide components. In the present paper, we report an alternative methodology based on a "gas-phase" reaction, in which dried saccharides are reacted with vaporized 2-aminopyridine. The resultant Schiff base was also reduced in the gas phase within the same reaction microtube using a purpose-built device. The newly developed procedure was applied to both monosaccharide (GlcNAc) and oligosaccharides (isomalto-oligosaccharides) at quantitative yields with no requirement to remove excess reagent. The acid-labile sialyl linkages of alpha2-6-disialobiantennary oligosaccharides proved to be fully stable during the procedure. The developed method was also successfully applied to profiling N-linked oligosaccharides liberated from glycoproteins by hydrazinolysis and, thus, should contribute to various fields of glycomics. 相似文献

Active layers of polymer solar cells were prepared by aerosol jet printing of organic inks. Various solvents and additives with high boiling points were screened for the preparation of high-quality polymer films. The effects on device performance of treating the films by thermal and solvent vapor annealing were also investigated. The components of the solvent were important for controlling the drying rate of the liquid films, reducing the number of particle-like protrusions on the film surface, and realizing high molecular ordering in the polymer phases. The optimized solar cell device with poly(3-hexylthiophene) and a C(60) derivative showed a high fill factor of 67% and power conversion efficiency of 2.53% without thermal annealing. The combination of poly[N-9-heptadecanyl-2,7-carbazole-alt-3,6-bis(thiophen-5-yl)-2,5-diethylhexyl-2,5-dihydropyrrolo-[3,4-]pyrrole-1,4-dione] and a C(70) derivative led to power conversion efficiency of 3.92 and 3.14% for device areas of 0.03 and 1 cm(2), respectively. 相似文献

In this study unsteady and chaotic characteristics of thermal convection fields between concentric annuli were experimentally examined, and they were compared with those reported in a vertical slot. The inner cylinder was heated by an embedded heater and the outer one was cooled by temperature‐controlled cold water, and 84 wt% glycerol‐water solution was used for the present test liquid. The main results are as follows: (1) The region where the characteristic frequency of temperature fluctuation is detected is located in the upper portion of the region where the secondary cells exist. (2) The time scale of the temperature change at which the autocorrelation coefficient becomes 1/e is relatively small in the secondary‐cell region, and this corresponds to the result of the natural convection field in a vertical slot. (3) The significant chaotic characteristics of temperature fluctuation are observed in almost the same region where the characteristic frequency of temperature fluctuation is detected, and this also corresponds to the results on the vertical slot. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this paper, the thermal convection field and its resonance phenomena in a square cavity with sinusoidal heat‐flux vibration were numerically investigated. As the angular velocity ω is changed, the thermal convection field at Pr = 0.71,Ra = 106 is found to be classified into 5 regions. In particular, the field has the local maximum relative amplitude of midplane Nusselt's number at ωc = 350, which corresponds to the angular velocity of internal gravity wave ωr estimated by a theoretical equation proposed by Thorpe. This shows that the local enhancement is induced by internal gravity wave resonance. Such correspondence is observed for Ra ≥ 105,Ra ≥ 106 for Pr = 0.71, 7.1, respectively. For these ranges of Ra we propose a correlation equation, a function of Pr and Gr only, to estimate the resonant angular velocity. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
