A comprehensive investigation on all dissolved nitrogen and phosphorus components at both local and regional scales in the headwaters from forested watersheds is valuable to improve our understanding of the factors controlling water quality. Here, we investigated the baseflow concentrations of dissolved nitrogen and phosphorus components, N:P ratio, and their associations with region and vegetation type in forested headwaters in fives regions of Japan. We found that inorganic nitrogen and phosphorus were the dominant components in the 26 temperate forested streams, rather than organic forms. There were significant positive correlations between the concentrations of N and P components. Furthermore, the regional patterns of the concentrations of nitrate, dissolved inorganic P (DIP), and dissolved total N (DTN) and P (DTP) were similar. Our results suggest that the regional patterns of the concentrations of N and P components should be related to the regional atmospheric deposition of both N and P nutrients. We also found that the nitrate and DTN concentrations were higher in man-made evergreen conifer (EC) than those in the natural deciduous broadleaf (DB). In contrast, the DIP and DTP concentrations in EC were lower than those in DB. The uniformly higher N:P ratio in EC- than in DB-forested streams for each region suggest that EC-forested streams could be more affected by P-limited than DB-forested streams when N inputs from atmospheric sources increased. 相似文献

The aim of the present work is to apply the liquid–liquid interfacial crystallization using a piezoelectric inkjet nozzle to the sol–gel processing. The instillation process was compared with the batch process to elucidate the effectiveness of the inkjet technique on the liquid–liquid interfacial sol–gel processing. The effect of frequency and water concentration in titanium tetraisopoxide (TTIP) solution on titania particle properties was investigated for sol–gel processing with a piezoelectric inkjet nozzle. Titania particles produced by each process were calcined at 500 °C. The crystal structure, morphology, pore size distribution and specific surface area of titania particles were evaluated by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), nitrogen physisorption measurement. The system-level impacts of innovations often can be more significant than the direct, primary impacts in certain industries. In particular, these system interactions can be seen with large, complex multi-system constructed facilities. Approximately half of the 200 specific innovations identified in eleven recent long span and multi-segmental bridges are linked to other innovations. Three general types of ‘cluster’ interaction are system, actualizing, and complementary links. The system interactions are nurtured through coordinated innovation development programmes. The actualizing links connect one set of innovations to another set, to aid in their realization of the innovation and project objectives. The complementary links provide additional benefits through the joint use of multiple innovations. The results of these analyses provide significant new insight for innovation theory into the system-level interactions of innovations. Since the frequency of the linkages among the innovations appears to reflect the relative stability of the design and construction parameters, recent innovation trajectories may be more difficult to link effectively to other innovations. These innovation interactions can provide critical capabilities for achieving the project objectives, but must be identified and managed effectively to achieve desired performance levels. 相似文献

Forest areas have been identified as important sources of nonpoint pollution in Japan. The managers must estimate stormwater quality and quantities from forested watersheds to develop effective management strategies. Therefore, stormwater runoff loads and concentrations of 10 constituents (total suspended solids, dissolved organic carbon, PO(4)-P, dissolved total phosphorus, total phosphorus, NH(4)-N, NO(2)-N, NO(3)-N, dissolved total nitrogen, and total nitrogen) for 72 events across five regions (Aichi, Kochi, Mie, Nagano, and Tokyo) were characterised. Most loads were significantly and positively correlated with stormwater variables (total event rainfall, event duration, and rainfall intensity), but most discharge-weighted event concentrations (DWECs) showed negative correlations with rainfall intensity. Mean water quality concentration during baseflow was correlated significantly with storm concentrations (r=0.41-0.77). Although all pollutant load equations showed high coefficients of determination (R(2)=0.55-0.80), no models predicted well pollutant concentrations, except those for the three N constituents (R(2)=0.59-0.67). Linear regressions to estimate stormwater concentrations and loads were greatly improved by regional grouping. The lower prediction capability of the concentration models for Mie, compared with the other four regions, indicated that other watershed or storm characteristics should be included in the prediction models. Significant differences among regions were found more frequently in concentrations than in loads for all constituents. Since baseflow conditions implied available pollutant sources for stormwater, the similar spatial characteristics of pollutant concentrations between baseflow and stormflow conditions were an important control for stormwater quality. 相似文献

The tribological performance of halogen-free ionic liquids at steel–steel and diamond-like carbon (DLC)–DLC contacts was investigated. Hydrogenated amorphous carbon (a-C:H) and tetrahedral amorphous carbon (ta-C) were used as test specimens. Friction tests were carried out on steel–steel, a-C:H–a-C:H, and ta-C–ta-C contacts by using a reciprocating cylinder-on-disk tribotester lubricated with two different types of halogen-free ionic liquids: 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium dicyanamide ([BMIM][DCN]) and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tricyanomethanide ([BMIM][TCC]). From the results of friction tests, the ta-C–ta-C tribopair lubricated with [BMIM][DCN] or [BMIM][TCC] exhibited an ultralow friction coefficient of 0.018–0.03. On the other hand, ultralow friction was not observed at the steel–steel and a-C:H–a-C:H contacts. Measurements obtained with a laser scanning microscope and an atomic force microscope (AFM) showed that a chemical reaction film, derived from the ionic liquid lubricant used, was formed on the steel surfaces. However, this chemical reaction film was not observed on either of the DLC surfaces. The AFM results showed that there were high-viscosity products on the ta-C surfaces, that the wear tracks on the ta-C surfaces exhibited low frictional properties, and that the ta-C surfaces were extremely smooth after the friction tests. Based on these results, it was concluded that an ionic liquid–derived adsorbed film formed on the ta-C surface and resulted in the ultralow friction when lubricated with a halogen-free ionic liquid. 相似文献

In this paper, we approximate the distribution of disturbances by the Edgeworth series distribution and propose a Bayesian analysis in a nonnormal AR(1) model. We derive the posterior distribution of the autocorrelation and the posterior odds ratio for unit roots hypothesis in the AR(1) model when the first four cumulants of the Edgeworth series distribution are finite and the higher order cumulants are negligible. Highly purified and organic solvent-free fullerene-C60 was dissolved, at nearly saturated concentration of 278 ppm, in squalane prepared from olive oil, which is designated as LipoFullerene (LF-SQ) and was examined for usage as a cosmetic ingredient with antioxidant ability. The aim of this study was to assess the anti-wrinkle formation efficacy of LF-SQ in subjects. A total of 23 Japanese women (group I: age 38.9 +/- 3.8, n = 11, group II; age 39.4 +/- 4.3, n = 12) were enrolled in an 8-week trial of LF-SQ blended cream in a randomized, matched pair double-blind study. The LF-SQ cream was applied twice daily on the right or left half of the face, and squalane blended cream (without fullerene-C60) was applied as the placebo on another half of the face. As clinical evaluations of wrinkle grades, visual observation and photographs, and silicone replicas of both crow's feet areas were taken at baseline (0 week) and at 4th and 8th weeks. Skin replicas were analyzed using an optical profilometry technique. The wrinkle and skin-surface roughness features were calculated and statistically analyzed. Subsequently, trans-epidermal water loss (TEWL), moisture levels of the stratum corneum, and visco-elasticity (suppleness: RO and elasticity: R7) were measured on cheeks by instrumental analysis. LF-SQ cream enhanced the skin moisture and the anti-wrinkle formation. LF-SQ cream that was applied on a face twice daily was not effective at 4th week, but significantly more effective than the placebo at 8th week (p < 0.05) without severe side effects. The roughness-area ratio showed significant improvement (p < 0.05) at 8th week with LF-SQ cream as compared to 0 week with LF-SQ cream, but no significant difference was detected between LF-SQ cream and the placebo. This paper presents an iterative learning control using an information database (ILCID) for linear as well as nonlinear continuous time systems. It is proposed that a proper and efficient selection of the initial control input using the experience of previously tracked trajectories can improve the convergence rate of an iterative learning controller without modifying its control structure. The information database consists of previously tracked trajectories and their corresponding control inputs. For a new trajectory, the database can be searched for a trajectory similar to the new one by using a similarity index defined in this paper. Initial control input for the new trajectory then can be set by using the control input of the similar trajectory found from the database. It is shown by the simulations that the convergence rate of the iterative learning controller can be improved by using this technique. 相似文献

In a robotic cell, assembly robots have to grasp parts in various shapes robustly and accurately even under some uncertainties in the initial poses of the parts. For this purpose, it is necessary to develop a universal robotic hand and robust grasping strategies, i.e. finger motions that can achieve planned grasping robustly against the initial pose uncertainty of parts. In this paper, we propose a methodology to plan robust grasping strategies of a universal robotic hand for assembling parts in various shapes. In our approach, parts are aligned toward planned configurations during grasping actions, and the robustness of grasping strategies is analyzed and evaluated based on pushing operation analysis. As an application example, we plan robust grasping strategies for assembling a three-dimensional puzzle, and experimentally verify the robustness and effectiveness of the planned strategies for this assembly task. 相似文献
