Constituents of the fruit of Amomum tsao-ko were investigated following a preliminary screening of the antioxidant activity of several extracts of the fruit of this plant that showed that the dichloromethane extract and the ethyl acetatesoluble and water-soluble fractions of the 70% aqueous acetone extract had higher activity than α-tocopherol and butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT). Eleven compounds were isolated from the ethyl acetate-soluble fraction, and their structures were elucidated as (+)-hannokinol (1), meso-hannokinol (2), (+)-epicatechin (3), (−)-catechin (4), β-sitosterol (5), β-sitosterol 3-O-glucoside (6), 2,6-dimethoxyphenol (7), protocatechualdehyde (8), protocatechuic acid (9), vanillic acid (10), and p-hydroxybenzoic acid (11) based on mass and various nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopic techniques. This is the first isolation of epicatechin and catechin from the genus Amomum. The radical scavenging activity of the isolated compounds was evaluated using 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and colorimetric and electron spin resonance (ESR) analyses. The antioxidant activity of the compounds was also determined based on the oxidative stability index (OSI). The catechins and catechol derivatives showed strong activities in both the DPPH radical scavenging activity and antioxidant activity assays.  相似文献

We propose a method of long-term stabilization of the repetition rate and the spectral envelope in a femtosecond mode-locked (fs-ML) laser pulse by a simple control method without modifying the laser cavity configuration. The effectiveness of the repetition-rate-stabilized fs-ML laser was evaluated in a long-optical-path (LOP) pulse interferometer with a short reference arm. The resulting accuracy in the LOP pulse interferometer was improved to one-seventh that of a free-running fs-ML laser. Moreover, the stabilization of the spectral envelope was estimated to suppress the fluctuation in the phase and group indices of an object under testing by 1/50, which can increase the measurement accuracy in pulse interferometry. The simple and practical stabilization method provides a means to increase the application of pulse interferometry using the fs-ML laser  相似文献

Pulmonary fibrosis is a progressive and fatal disorder characterized by dysregulated repair after recurrent injury. Destruction of the lung architecture with excess extracellular matrix deposition induces respiratory failure with hypoxia and progressive dyspnea. The impact of hypoxia on pulmonary endothelial cells during pulmonary fibrogenesis is unclear. Using a magnetic-activated cell sorting system, pulmonary endothelial cells were isolated from a mouse model of pulmonary fibrosis induced by intratracheally administered bleomycin. When endothelial cells were exposed to hypoxic conditions, a hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF)-2α protein was detected in CD31- and α-smooth muscle actin (SMA)-positive cells. Levels of plasminogen activator inhibitor 1, von Willebrand factor, and matrix metalloproteinase 12 were increased in endothelial cells isolated from bleomycin-treated mice exposed to hypoxic conditions. When endothelial cells were cultured under hypoxic conditions, levels of fibrotic mediators, transforming growth factor-β and connective tissue growth factor, were elevated only in endothelial cells from bleomycin-treated and not from saline-treated lungs. The increased expression of α-SMA and mesenchymal markers and collagen production in bleomycin- or hypoxia-stimulated endothelial cells were further elevated in endothelial cells from bleomycin-treated mouse lungs cultured under hypoxic conditions. Exposure to hypoxia damaged endothelial cells and enhanced fibrogenesis-related damage in bleomycin-treated pulmonary endothelial cells.  相似文献

This paper proposes a restart control method for position sensorless PMSM drive systems without a potential transformer for railway vehicle traction. This method can estimate the initial rotor speed and position under coasting conditions over the entire speed range. The method can also be used when the back‐EMF voltage is higher than the inverter DC link voltage. The proposed method is verified by experiments using a 200‐kW PMSM.  相似文献

Micronutrient deficiencies probably have few direct effects on the functioning of immune cells. The main effect appears to be a reduction in cell mass that may indirectly affect immune cell function, particularly where T helper cell numbers are reduced. Results of many human studies are contradictory. Some of this contradiction may be accounted for by the fact that disease may lower concentrations of micronutrients in plasma that may be misinterpreted as deficiency. Low plasma vitamin A concentrations however appear to impair immune responsiveness and have deleterious effects on membrane integrity and mucosal function. Zinc may have similar effects on gut integrity and appears to be particularly useful in the treatment of acute diarrhoea. Low concentrations of other nutrients such as ascorbate and iron, may not necessarily impair immune function. Low plasma ascorbate may assist the removal of iron from plasma and low iron concentrations appear to increase the cytotoxicity of macrophages.  相似文献

The authors investigated the usefulness of the ultrafast three-dimensional computed tomography (UF-3D-CT) in cervical spine injury. At Osaka City General Hospital, between April 1995 and March 1998, the authors examined 38 patients with cervical spine injury using UF-3D-CT. The ultrafast CT reduces scanning time. There were no complications associated with the examination. We examined 12 patients with vertebral body fracture, 11 patients with lamina fracture, 8 cases with subluxation including locking facet, 2 patients with atlanto-axial dislocation and 8 patients without bony abnormality. Results suggested that UF-3D-CT was very useful for helping us to understand the bony deformity and the relationship between the bone and the important vessels. UF-3D-CT is very useful for preoperative evaluation and pathophysiological evaluation in cervical spin injury.  相似文献

Bronchodilatory substances such as the phosphodisterase inhibitor (PDE-I) theophylline stimulate mucociliary activity. With the introduction of selective PDE-Is it has become possible to study the functional importance of each phosphodiesterase enzyme (PDE) concerning the regulation of the ciliary beat. The effects of rolipram (inhibiting a cAMP specific PDE (PDE4), milrinone (inhibiting a cGMP inhibited PDE (PDE3)) and zaprinast (inhibiting a cGMP specific PDE (PDE5)) were investigated in in vitro preparations from the rabbit maxillary sinus and trachea. Ciliary beat frequency (CBF) was measured with a photoelectrical method. In sinus mucosa all three compounds accelerated CBF. Milrinone (10(-5) M) by 22.6 +/- 5.3% (n = 6; P < 0.01), rolipram (10(-5) M) by 29.7 +/- 5.7% (n = 7; P < 0.01), and zaprinast (10(-5) M) by 19.4 +/- 6.3% (n = 6; P < 0.05). In the tracheal specimens at a concentration of 10(-5) M, milrinone accelerated CBF by 27.5 +/- 9.0% (n = 7; < 0.05), rolipram by 11.6 +/- 2.8% (n = 6; P < 0.05) and zaprinast by 24.3 +/- 5.3% (n = 7; P < 0.01). Comparison of the effects in the upper and lower airways showed that at concentrations of 10(-5) and 10(-4) M rolipram was more effective in the upper than in the lower airways. The reverse was true of milrinone which concentrations of 10(-7) and 10(-6) M had a significant effect in tracheal specimens but not in sinus specimens. Zaprinast was equally effective in both the upper and lower airways. It is concluded that in both the upper and lower airways selective PDE-Is have an accelerating effect on the CBF that may be beneficial in the treatment of airway diseases.  相似文献

The stereoselective local disposition of ketoprofen was evaluated by the single-pass perfusion experiment following a bolus injection of R(-)- or S(+)-ketoprofen into the liver from the portal vein. The elution time profiles of enantiomers into the hepatic vein and the excretion time profiles into the bile were kinetically assessed by local moment analysis. The hepatic recovery ratios (FH) of both enantiomers were < 1%, and the mean hepatic transit times (tH) were approximately 7 s. After the injection of S-ketoprofen into the liver, the biliary excretion ratio (Fb) of total S-ketoprofen was 68% (15% S-ketoprofen and 53% glucuronide) and the mean biliary transit time (tb) of S-ketoprofen was 10 min. R-Ketoprofen inversion from S-ketoprofen was not observed in either the perfusate or in the bile. After the injection of R-ketoprofen, the Fb of total R-ketoprofen was 12% (3% R-ketoprofen and 9% glucuronide), and tb of R-ketoprofen was 8 min. The Fb of total S-ketoprofen inverted from R-ketoprofen was 24% (7% S-ketoprofen and 17% glucuronide), and the tb of inverted S-ketoprofen was 17 min. Forty-six percent of R-ketoprofen was inverted to S-ketoprofen during a single pass through the rat liver, and the mean inversion time was 7.5 min. It was concluded that the unidirectional chiral inversion of ketoprofen was stereospecific, and the hepatic uptake and biliary excretion were stereo-nonspecific.  相似文献
