People routinely carry mobile devices in their daily lives and obtain a variety of information from the Internet in many different situations. In searching for information (content) with a mobile device, a user’s activity (e.g., moving or stationary) and context (e.g., commuting in the morning or going downtown in the evening) often change, and such changes can affect the user’s degree of concentration on his or her mobile device’s display and information needs. Therefore, a search system should provide the user with an amount of information suitable for the current activity and a type of information suitable for the current context. In this study, we present the design and implementation of a content search system that considers a mobile user’s activity and context, with the goal of reducing the user’s operation load for content search. The proposed system switches between two kinds of content search systems according to the user’s activity: the location-based content search system is activated when the user is stationary (e.g., standing and sitting), while a menu-based content search system is activated when the user is moving (e.g., walking). Both systems present information according to user context. The location-based system presents detailed information via menus and a map according to location-based categories. The menu-based system presents only a few options to enable users to get content easily. Through user experiments, we confirmed that participants could get desired information more easily with this system than with a commercial search system. 相似文献

Abstract— A high‐pixel‐rate, high‐contrast (30,000:1) wide‐color‐gamut grating‐light‐valve laser projector is reported. A new optical engine enabling high‐frame‐rate (240 Hz) scan projection is employed. Panoramic wide‐angle‐scan projection with a 64:9 aspect ratio was also developed. A novel column is described that does not require frits to keep packing material within a capillary. A continuous bed is prepared in situ in aqueous solution by radical copolymerization of N-isopropylacrylamide and 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid (the resultant gel is denoted poly(AMPS-co-IPAAm). N,N'-Methylenebisacrylamide is used for cross-linking. On the application of an electrical field, electroosmotic flow (EOF) is developed in the bed along the capillary, where fluid propulsion would be otherwise difficult to achieve. The resultant EOF transports neutral compounds through the column without forcing the gel out of the capillary. Examination of the fluid motion in the continuous bed using a video microscope system and an image processor shows a relatively flat flow profile of EOF. The bed functions as the stationary phase for reversed-phase capillary electrochromatography (CEC). This new approach is an alternative to packed capillary columns which have been used previously in CEC. A high efficiency is obtained for a steroid which is separated on a 4.0% total monomer concentration (T), 10.0% degree of cross-linking (C), and 10.0% mole fraction of AMPS in the total monomer (S), poly(AMPS-co-IPAAm) column. A mixture of polyaromatic hydrocarbons is separated on a 6.9% T, 5.8% C, and 5.5% S poly(AMPS-co-IPAAm) column. The capacity factor of benzo[a]pyrene increases from 0.63 to 1.91 as the acetonitrile content in a Tris-boric acid buffer is decreased from 45 to 30% (v/v). The run-to-run RSD of analyte migration time is less than 0.73%, and the day-to-day RSD is acceptable. Potential benefits of this approach are also mentioned. 相似文献

The tangential momentum accommodation coefficient (TMAC) was investigated experimentally from the mass flow rate through a
single microtube under the slip flow and the early part of the transition regime. The measurements were carried out by the
constant-volume method under the mean Knudsen number smaller than 0.3, which is based on the mean pressure of the inlet and
the outlet of the microtube, to apply the second-order slip boundary condition. To measure TMACs on various materials, quite
large microtube was employed, which require the reduction in leakage. TMAC was obtained from the slip coefficient determined
by the relation of the mass flow rate to the mean Knudsen number. The obtained mass flow rate was well explained by the theoretical
equation. TMACs of deactivated-fused silica with argon, nitrogen, and oxygen were measured, showing the tangential momentum
was not accommodated completely to the surface, and the values showed good agreement with previous studies. From the comparison
between microtubes with different inner diameter, it is showed that TMAC is determined mainly by gas species and surface material. 相似文献

Temperature dependence of water vapor sorption and electro-active polymer actuating behavior of free-standing films made of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) doped with poly(4-styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT/PSS) was investigated by means of sorption isotherm and electromechanical analyses. The non-porous PEDOT/PSS film, having a specific surface area of 0.13 m2 g?1, sorbed water vapor of 1080 cm3(STP) g?1, corresponding to 87 wt%, at relative water vapor pressure of 0.95. A temperature rise from 25 °C to 40 °C lowered sorption degree, indicative of an exothermic process, where isosteric heat of sorption decreased with increasing water vapor sorption and the value reached 43.9 kJ mol?1, being consistent with the heat of water condensation (44 kJ mol?1). Upon application of 10 V, the film underwent contraction of 2.46% at 5 °C caused by desorption of water vapor due to Joule heating, which slightly decreased to 2.10% at 45 °C. The speed of contraction was one order of magnitude faster than that of expansion and less dependent on the temperature since water vapor sorbed in the film were forced to desorb by Joule heating. In contrast, the higher the temperature the faster the film expansion because diffusion coefficient increased as the temperature became higher. 相似文献

The minimum number of NOT gates in a Boolean circuit computing a Boolean function f is called the inversion complexity of f. In 1958, Markov determined the inversion complexity of every Boolean function and, in particular, proved that log2(n+1) NOT gates are sufficient to compute any Boolean function on n variables. In this paper, we consider circuits computing non-deterministically and determine the inversion complexity of every Boolean function. In particular, we prove that one NOT gate is sufficient to compute any Boolean function in non-deterministic circuits if we can use an arbitrary number of guess inputs. 相似文献

We have developed a technique for the anisotropic extension of fragile molecular crystals. The pressure medium and the instrument, which extends the pressure medium, are both made from epoxy resin. Since the thermal contraction of our instrument is identical to that of the pressure medium, the strain applied to the pressure medium has no temperature dependence down to 2 K. Therefore, the degree of extension applied to the single crystal at low temperatures is uniquely determined from the degree of extension in the pressure medium and thermal contractions of the epoxy resin and the single crystal at ambient pressure. Using this novel instrument, we have measured the temperature dependence of the electrical resistance of metallic, superconducting, and insulating materials. The experimental results are discussed from the viewpoint of the extension (compression) of the lattice constants along the parallel (perpendicular) direction. 相似文献

A magnetic probe array is constructed to measure precisely the spatial structure of a small fluctuating field included in a strong confinement field that varies with time. To exclude the effect of the confinement field, the magnetic probes consisting of figure-eight-wound coils are prepared. The spatial structure of the fluctuating field is obtained from a Fourier analysis of the probe signal. It is found that the probe array is more sensitive to the fluctuating field with a high mode number than that with a low mode number. An experimental demonstration of the present method is attempted using a field-reversed configuration plasma, where the fluctuating field with 0.1% of the confinement field is successfully detected. 相似文献

Humans and animals seek appropriate solutions to novel problems through trial-and-error (TE) actions and observation of their outcomes. Once an individual has obtained the knowledge (rule) to solve a problem, knowledge-based (KB) actions may be applied in a stereotypical manner. Solutions can thus be based on TE or KB actions. To characterize this learning process at the behavioral level, we developed a new cognitive task for a laboratory monkey (Macaca fuscata) to perform. In this task, a search array consisting of six elements of different colors was presented, one of which was the behaviorally relevant target. The target color was changed unpredictably with no instruction or signal, requiring the monkey to use a TE search strategy to find the target color. We found that once the monkey identified the relevant color by chance after a color change, correct performance increased in a step-like manner and at the same time, other response properties (reaction time and color-choice tendency) also changed discontinuously. These step-like alternations in behavioral performance may be attributed to the subject’s switching between TE and KB search strategies in the two phases. The present study has therefore provided behavioral evidence for the timing and manner of switching between search strategies during the process of updating knowledge. 相似文献

Pyridinoline is a crosslinking amino acid isolated from collagen. Polarographic oxidation and reduction potentials of pyridinoline were measured and compared with those of structurally related compounds, 3-hydroxypyridine, pyridoxine, pyridoxal, and N-methylpyridoxine. Oxidation and reduction potentials of these compounds were found to be near anodic and cathodic limit potentials, respectively, except for pyridoxal. This indicates that a 3-hydroxypyridine ring is very difficult to be reduced or oxidized. The reducibility of pyridinoline with a reducing agent, sodium borohydride, was also studied. It was not reduced by the reagent, however, it was found to be decomposed by light during the treatment. These results indicate that pyridinoline is a so-called "non-reducible" crosslink. 相似文献
