A case undergoing conduit procedure for tetralogy of Fallot with pulmonary atresia was complicated postoperatively by bacteremia due to non-fermentative Gram-negative rods and by disseminated intravascular coagulation. He was able to be cured without any sequela. The patient was a 16-year-old male, who had undergone Blalock-Taussig anastomosis in his infancy. The present operation was carried out as follows: ventricular septal defect was closed with a Teflon-patch and discontinuity between the right ventricle and the pulmonary artery was corrected using a Hancock's valved conduit. Two weeks after the operation, pleural effusion in the right chest cavity was shown by a chest X-ray film. On the 32nd postoperative day, high fever with chills occurred, and subsequently developed pulmonary edema, shock and hemorrhagic tendencies with petechia. Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Flavobacterium and Alcaligenes faecalis were detected by the culture of pleural effusion. The platelet count decreased to about 10,000/microliters. Carbenicillin, tobramycin and minocycline were administered for the infection, and heparin and aprotinin were used for disseminated intravascular coagulation. By these treatments for about 6 months, the patient became well and was discharged without any sequela.  相似文献

A total of 137 Enterococcus strains isolated from chicken meat were subjected to antimicrobial susceptibility tests. Strains with the vanCl gene were isolated from seven of nine samples of chicken meat processed in Japan and from all chickens from China and Brazil between July 2001 and April 2002. The pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) patterns of the isolates were distinguishable from each other, suggesting that VanCl-type vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus is preferentially colonized in broiler chickens in these countries. The incidence of high-level gentamicin resistant (HLGR) enterococci that harbored the aac(6')-le-aph(2")-la or aph(2')-Id gene varied among the countries from which the chickens originated (Japan, 2 of 65; China, 11 of 43; Brazil, 6 of 29). Moreover, the PFGE patterns of the HLGR strains were distinguishable from each other, except for two strains obtained from chickens from Brazil. The results suggest that HLGR Enterococcus is highly prevalent in broiler chickens.  相似文献

Chemical structural analysis of tape-stripped surfaces at dark spots growing in organic electroluminescent (EL) devices during exposure to the atmosphere was done by time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (OF-SIMS). The EL devices consist of indium-tin-oxide, triphenylamine-tetramer, tris(8-hydroxyquinoline)aluminum (Alq3), and a Mg-Ag cathode deposited in order under vacuum on a glass substrate. It was found that the interface between the Alq3 layer and the Mg-Ag cathode was exposed as a result of tape-stripping, where a large number of dark spots were observed on both sides. Secondary ion images of O-, Mg+, and Alq2+ were observed from the dark spots on the cathode side. On the other hand, Mg+ and O- images with a nucleus in the center were observed from the Alq3 side. It is concluded from the results that the constituent element Mg of the cathode was oxidized at the interface adjacent to the Alq3 layer during exposure to the atmosphere, forming a dark spot with a nucleus in the center. Finally, it was confirmed that the TOF-SIMS analysis of the tape-stripped surface is useful for the analysis of the mechanism of dark spot formation.  相似文献

The microstructures of MgH2 catalyzed with Ni nano-particle or Nb2O5 mesoporous powders are examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) observations. For MgH2 catalyzed with Ni, the Ni particles with the diameter smaller than 1 μm were detected on the MgH2 particles with the diameter smaller than 5 μm by the back scattering electron (BSE) microscopy. In details, the TEM micrograph indicates that the Ni particles distribute 20 nm in diameter on MgH2 uniformly, which was the same size as the additive doped in MgH2 before milling. On the other hand, for MgH2 catalyzed with Nb2O5, the additive particles could not be found anywhere in the BSE image. Even in the TEM micrograph by much larger magnification than the SEM micrograph, the particles corresponding to the additive cannot be observed at all. Furthermore, an energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) analysis in spots with a diameter of 20 nm indicated that the existing ratio of Mg to Nb was evaluated to 98:2, being the same as the starting ratio before milling. Therefore, the metal oxide Nb2O5 becomes extremely small particle that could not be observed by the present work after milling compared to metal Ninano.  相似文献

One of the primary determinants of Sunagoke moss Rachomitrium japonicum growth is water availability. There is need to develop a non-destructive method for sensing water content of cultured Sunagoke moss to realize automation and precision irrigation in a close bio-production systems. Machine vision can be utilized as non-destructive sensing to recognize changes in some kind of features that describe the water conditions from the appearance of wilting Sunagoke moss. The goal of this study is to propose and investigate bio-inspired algorithms i.e. Neural-Ant Colony Optimization, Neural-Genetic Algorithms, Neural-Simulated Annealing and Neural-Discrete Particle Swarm Optimization to find the most significant sets of image features suitable for predicting water content of cultured Sunagoke moss. Image features consist of 8 colour features, three morphological features and 90 textural features (RGB, HSV, HSL colour co-occurrence matrix and gray level co-occurrence matrix textural features). Each colour space of textural features consist of energy, entropy, contrast, homogeneity, inverse difference moment, correlation, sum mean, variance, cluster tendency and maximum probability. The specificity of this problem is that we are not looking for single image feature but several associations of image features that may be involved in determining water content of cultured Sunagoke moss. All feature selection models showed that prediction performance is getting better through all the iterations. It indicates that all models are effective. Neural-Ant Colony Optimization had the best performance as a feature selection technique. The minimum average prediction mean square error (MSE) achieved was 1.75 × 10?3. There is significant improvement between method using feature selection and method without feature selection.  相似文献

Protein glycosylation is a major post-translational modification. To elucidate the effect of this modification on protein function, homogeneous glycoproteins are required. Because glycoproteins isolated from biological sources contain glycoforms, a mixture of a single protein chain with several different oligosaccharides appended, homogeneous glycoproteins obtained through chemical synthesis offer a better solution. In this review, several methods used by our group for the chemical synthesis of homogeneous glycoproteins are addressed. First, preparation of sufficient amounts of oligosaccharides with the desired structures was achieved using a combination of chemical protection and enzymatic digestion. Then glycopeptide-αthioesters were prepared by incorporation of oligosaccharides onto the side chains of cysteine residues in peptide-αthioesters. Finally, biologically active homogeneous glycoproteins were prepared through native chemical ligation of glycopeptide-αthioesters and subsequent oxidative folding.  相似文献

A novel liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method was developed for the trace residue determination of vedaprofen (VPF) in livestock products and seafoods. VPF was extracted from each sample with acidified acetone, and the crude extract was re-extracted with ethyl acetate and NaCl solution. Clean-up was performed using a weak anion exchange cartridge (Bond Elut DEA). The LC separation was performed on a C18 column using acetonitrile-0.0025 mol/L formic acid (3 : 2) as the mobile phase and MS was run in the negative ion electrospray ionization mode. The calibration curve was linear in the range of 0.001-0.1 μg/mL VPF. The mean recoveries from equine muscle, cattle muscle, cattle liver, cattle fat, salmon, eel, corbicula, milk, egg and buckwheat honey were 72-94%, and the relative standard deviations (RSDs) were 1.1-2.0%. Limits of quantitation (LOQs) ranged from 0.001 to 0.007 μg/g.  相似文献

By using an in vitro model simulating the potential opportunities for Salmonella enterica serovar Enteritidis (SE) to proliferate within eggs contaminated with this organism following oviposition, we investigated growth of SE in eggs. Seventy to 140 CFU of one of three SE strains originating either from egg contents, chicken meat, or a human infection were experimentally inoculated onto the vitelline membrane of eggs collected from specific-pathogen-free flocks of chickens and incubated at 25 degrees C. SE organisms were detected in 6 of 71 yolk contents of the eggs inoculated with any of the test strains attaining levels ranging from 2.0 x 10(2) to 4.2 x 10(8) CFU/ml by day 6. The organisms were also detected in the albumen from 38 of 55 eggs tested, growing to levels ranging from 1.0 x 10(2) to 4.3 x 10(8) CFU/ml by day 6 after inoculation. An additional three yolk contents and 15 albumen samples were culture positive for SE following enrichment. There was no correlation between the number of the organisms in the yolk contents and that in the albumen from each of the eggs. When 73 to 91 CFU of the egg strain were inoculated into samples of separated albumen obtained from eggs that were stored at 4 degrees C for 1 to 4 weeks or at 25 degrees C for 1 week, slight growth (3.0 x 10(2) to 7.4 x 10(3) CFU/ml) was found in only 3 of the 60 albumen samples by day 6 after inoculation, but the organisms were recovered from 52 samples following enrichment. The results suggest that the environment on or near the vitelline membrane can be conducive to SE proliferation over time.  相似文献
