Conduction band states of transition metal (TM) high-k gate dielectrics as determined from X-ray absorption spectra

This paper uses X-ray absorption spectroscopy to study the electronic structure of the high-k gate dielectrics including TM and RE oxides. The results are applicable to TM and rare earth (RE) silicate and aluminate alloys, as well as complex oxides comprised of mixed TM/TM and TM/RE oxides. These studies identify the nature of the lowest conduction band d^* states, which define the optical band gap, E_g, and the conduction band offset energy with respect to crystalline Si, E_B. E_g and E_B scale with the atomic properties of the TM and RE atoms providing important insights for identification high-k dielectrics that meet performance targets for advanced CMOS devices.     

A modified rainflow counting method

The rainflow counting method is commonly recognized to be a good cyclic counting method in fatigue life prediction and for testing engineering components and structures. However, it has some shortcomings, which are pointed out in this paper in connection with the analysis of the stress-strain response. A modified rainflow counting method is presented. Case studies show that all the cycles really existing in the stress-strain response that cannot be counted by the rainflow counting method can be counted by the modified rainflow counting method. So it can be said that the modified rainflow counting method is a more reasonable cycling counting method than the traditional rainflow counting method.     

杭-宁输气管道工程定向钻穿越设计浅析

杭州-宁波天然气输气管道工程（简称杭-宁输气管道工程）是浙江省天然气长输管网主干线之一，根据工程河流穿越众多、渠塘穿越频繁的特点，对杭-宁输气管道工程水域穿越的特点和穿越方式作了总结；重点分析了水域定向钻穿越设计及需要注意的问题，为今后浙江省天然气管网建设的水域穿越设计作了探讨。     

WiMAX系统中载波与采样钟同步的研究

IEEE802．16协议采用的OFDMA技术提供了两种子信道使用方式，分别为FUSC和PUSC，结合FUSC的固有结构特点，对导频配置方法和采样钟同步算法进行更深入的忱化。提出了一种更精确的载波和采样钟同步方案。仿真结果表明，此方案所得到的载波同步估计值比普通算法更加准确，同步性能也随之有了很大的改善。     

Intermittent Phenomena in Switched Systems With High Coupling Strengths

In this paper, one kind of intermittency generated by a discontinuous system is studied. Although this system, which is composed of two switched subsystems coupled with a high strength, is nonsmooth, the mechanism of this kind of intermittency can be analyzed with several explicit relations between the intermittency characteristics and the system control parameters. In particular, estimates of "steady-state" values of the system (in the laminar phases) and a critical value for this intermittency can be derived, which are helpful in relevant control systems design. Moreover, some power laws for the observed intermittency are obtained and discussed     

Longitudinal Wave Propagation in Dielectric Waveguide Array

Based on the established rigorous theory for two-dimensionally periodic (2DP) medium, Longitudinal propagation in Dielectric Waveguide Array (DWA) was analyzed in detail. Firstly, given longitudinal wave vector (k _z), Brillouin dispersion relations between transversal wave vectors were analyzed. Interactions between space harmonics were also studied. Secondly, on condition that transversal wave vector k _x equaled k _y, dispersion relations between longitudinal and transversal wave vectors were analyzed in detail. Because of interactions between space harmonics increasingly getting stronger with k _z or modulation coefficients increasing, stop-bands could be distinctly displayed and thus longitudinal propagation in DWA could be comprehensively analyzed. The applications about longitudinal propagation in DWA were also discussed.     

Training ratio and comparison of trained vector quantizers

The vector quantizer (VQ) codebook is usually designed by clustering a training sequence (TS) drawn from the underlying distribution function. In order to cluster a TS, we may use the K-means algorithm (generalized Lloyd (1982) algorithm) or the self-organizing map algorithm. In this paper, a survey of trained VQ performance is conducted to study the effect of the training ratio on training quantizers. The training ratio, which is defined by the ratio of the TS size to the codebook size, is dependent on the VQ structure. Hence, different VQs may show different training properties, even though the VQs are designed for the same TS. A numerical comparison of trained VQs is then conducted in conjunction with deriving their training ratios. Through the comparison, it is shown that structured VQs can achieve better performance than the full-search scheme if the codebooks are trained by a finite TS. Further, we can derive a design or comparison guideline that maintains equal training ratios in training different VQs.

25mm厚钢板产生层间撕裂的原因和防治

层间撕裂并非是厚板独有的质量问题 ,结合工程实例 ,分析 2 5mm厚低合金钢板产生层间撕裂的原因。通过对钢材的超声波探伤检测、化学成分分析和Z向性能检测 ,指出层间撕裂主要与节点设计不当和钢材内非金属夹杂物偏析、分层有关 ,并提出了预防措施。对产生裂纹的构件视严重情况提出了不同的修补处理方法     

山西铝厂锅炉水冷壁膨胀异常原因分析及对策

针对山西铝厂160t／h锅炉在实际运行中膨胀异常的问题，对不同的施工方法下，水冷壁膨胀量是否正常这一问题进行分析，找出了水冷壁膨胀异常的原因，并提出了解决对策。
