The main activity of the RBDATA-EULEP project is the development of an electronic database of information on the biokinetics of radionuclides after intake by inhalation, ingestion or injection. It consists of linked tables of publications and experiments, with details and comments on the materials, procedures and results. By March 2004 it contained information on more than 1600 experiments from 600 publications. It will be extended and Internet access will also be provided.  相似文献

Alkali refined palm oil and hydrogenated cotton-seed oil were stabilized with butylated hydroxytoluene, butylated hydroxyanisole, and tertiary butylhydroquinone. Under bulk storage temperatures significant reductions in the peroxide formation of palm oil were obtained only with tertiary butyl-hydroquinone. The reduction in peroxide formation with tertiary butylhydroquinone was much greater than anticipated from the active oxygen method results. The stability improvement of a snack product fried in palm oil stabilized with tertiary butylhydroquinone depended greatly on the frying conditions used. Under mild frying conditions tertiary butyl-hydroquinone had somewhat greater carry-through than butylated hydroxytoluene. Under more severe frying conditions tertiary butylhydroquinone provided less protection than butylated hydroxytoluene. Both palm oil and hydrogenated cottonseed oil stabilized with only butylated hydroanisole had higher active oxygen stabilities than the unstabilized controls; however, no reduction in peroxide formation of the butylated hydroxyanisole oils compared to the controls was found during storage of the oil or the snack product at 50–60 C.  相似文献

Laser surface melting experiments were carried out on an alloy cast iron with 3% C, 2% Si and 0.25% Ti containing undercooled graphite. Different heating times and energy densities were used to achieve different penetration depths and cooling rates. The microstructures obtained after surface melting and after various heat treatments are presented and discussed. It is shown how the cooling rate and concentration influence the solidification behaviour of high carbon cast irons. The composition chosen for the experiments can be considered as representative of many cast irons.  相似文献

DNA microarrays are an increasingly important tool that allow biologists to gain insight into the function of thousands of genes in a single experiment. Common to all array-based approaches is the necessity to analyze digital images of the scanned DNA array. The ultimate image analysis goal is to automatically quantify every individual array element (spot), providing information about the amount of DNA bound to a spot. Irrespective of the quantification strategy, the preliminary information to extract about a spot includes the mapping between its location in the digital image and its possibly distorted position in the spot array (gridding). We present a gridding approach divided into a spot-amplification step (matched filter), a rotation estimation step (Radon transform), and a grid spanning step. Quantification of the spots is performed by robustly fitting of a parametric model to pixel intensities with the help of M-estimators. The main advantage of parametric spot fitting is its ability to cope with overlapping spots. If the goodness-of-fit is too bad, a semiparametric spot fitting is employed. We show that our approach is superior to simple quantification strategies such as averaging of the pixel intensities. An electrochemical enzyme-linked immobilized DNA-hybridization assay for the detection of Cryptosporidium parvum in water has been developed. The target molecule was a 121-nucleotide sequence from the C. parvum heat shock protein 70 (hsp70 mRNA from U71181 gene). This analyte offers the possibility of distinguishing dead from live oocysts. The assay involves covalent attachment of a primary DNA probe via its 5'-amine-terminus to self-assembled monolayers of mercaptoundecanoic acid to a gold surface. The primary DNA probe was used to capture the target (sequence 1039-1082 of U71181 gene for the mRNA), by hybridization to a 20-base complementary sequence on the target (at sequence 1063-1082). A secondary DNA probe labeled with alkaline phosphatase (AP) was then hybridized to base sequence 1039-1062 on the target. p-Aminophenol, which is enzymatically generated by the immobilized AP from p-aminophenyl phosphate (PAPP), is detected using electrochemistry. The peak current of cyclic voltammograms from a PAPP solution, in which gold-coated silicon wafer modified with the complete assembly of the assay components was incubated, is linear with concentration of the target (5-50 microg/mL, where P1 and P2-AP concentrations are 50 microg/mL). A detection limit of 2 microg/mL (or 146 nM) of the DNA target was obtained. Cross-reactivity tests showed high selectivity for heat-shocked C. parvum. No signal was obtained for either the synthetic DNA for hsp70 of Campylobacter lari, Escherichia coli, Giardia lamblia, Salmonella typhimurium, and Listeria monocytogenes or for the products of heat-shocked whole organisms of E. coli, G. lamblia, Staphylococcus aureus, and Cryptosporidium muris.  相似文献

Capillary electrophoresis (CE) was coupled to ICPMS in order to combine the good performance of this separation technique with the high sensitivity of the ICPMS for the analysis of plutonium and neptunium oxidation states. The combination of a fused-silica capillary with a MicroMist AR 30-I-FM02 nebulizer and a Cinnabar small-volume cyclonic spray chamber yielded the best separation results. With this setup, it was possible to separate a model element mixture containing neptunium (NpO2(+)), uranium (UO2(2+)), lanthanum (La3+), and thorium (Th4+) in 1 M acetic acid. The same conditions were also suitable for the separation of various oxidation states of plutonium and neptunium in different aqueous samples. All separations were obtained within less than 15 min. A detection limit of 50 ppb identical with 2 x 10(-7) M (3-fold standard deviation of a blank) was achieved. To prove the negligible disturbance of the plutonium and neptunium redox equilibria during the CE separations, plutonium and neptunium speciation by CE-ICPMS in acidic solutions was compared with the results of UV/visible absorption spectroscopy and was found to be in good agreement. The CE-ICPMS system was also applied to study the reduction of Pu(VI) in a humic acid-containing groundwater at different pH values.  相似文献

We describe recent developments in the synthesis of semiconductor nanoparticles, which lead to a substantial improvement of the luminescence quantum efficiency. Concerning a theoretical model for the growth of an ensemble of nanoparticles, the highest quantum efficiencies are achieved in particles that grow under conditions of a rapid exchange of monomers at the particle surface, leading to a smooth surface structure. Selective etching, core-shell formation and doping of nanoparticles are also discussed as fluorescence-enhancing preparative techniques. Examples of self-assembly of almost-uniformly-sized nanoparticles are given, which result in two-dimensional and three-dimensional superlattices, colloidal crystals and crystalline structures built-up from particles of different sizes. Finally, the self-assembled oriented attachment of quasi-spherical ZnO nanoparticles onto single-crystalline nanorods is presented.  相似文献
