Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), a highly aggressive malignancy with a poor prognosis is usually detected at the advanced stage of the disease. The only US Food and Drug Administration-approved biomarker that is available for PDAC, CA 19-9, is most useful in monitoring treatment response among PDAC patients rather than for early detection. Moreover, when CA 19-9 is solely used for diagnostic purposes, it has only a recorded sensitivity of 79% and specificity of 82% in symptomatic individuals. Therefore, there is an urgent need to identify reliable biomarkers for diagnosis (specifically for the early diagnosis), ascertain prognosis as well as to monitor treatment response and tumour recurrence of PDAC. In recent years, proteomic technologies are growing exponentially at an accelerated rate for a wide range of applications in cancer research. In this review, we discussed the current status of biomarker research for PDAC using various proteomic technologies. This review will explore the potential perspective for understanding and identifying the unique alterations in protein expressions that could prove beneficial in discovering new robust biomarkers to detect PDAC at an early stage, ascertain prognosis of patients with the disease in addition to monitoring treatment response and tumour recurrence of patients.  相似文献

Foreign (non-mainland Chinese) architectural, engineering and construction (AEC) firms may face difficulties managing construction projects in China because they are unfamiliar with this new operating environment. This study investigates project management (PM) practices adopted by Singaporean AEC firms in China. It determines the performance level of their projects in China; identifies PM practices that led to better performance; and recommends key PM practices that could be adopted by foreign AEC firms in China to achieve project success. A structured questionnaire was designed and data were collected via a self-administered postal and email survey, targeting Singaporean AEC firms that had undertaken and managed projects in China. The study finds that certain PM practices do indeed affect project performance. The most important of these are practices relating to scope management, such as controlling the quality of the contract document, quality of response to perceived variations and extent of changes to the contract. It is recommended that foreign firms adopt some of the PM practices highlighted in this study to help them achieve better project performance in China.  相似文献

A social network perspective helps identify and analyse informal knowledge transfer among people and organisations with the aim to recommend organisational interventions and improvements, for example in the form of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) support. This paper particularly focuses on a key concept of social network analysis (SNA), the concept of tie strength, in an inter-organisational knowledge transfer context. Tie strength describes the strength of a social relationship. In the past, SNA literature with a knowledge management context has often emphasized the importance of strong and/or weak ties rather than of intermediate (medium strong) ties in a social network. Nevertheless, in this study, intermediate ties are identified as the dominant links among key groups of organisation in a social network. Intermediate ties also help connect otherwise weakly linked organisations. Moreover, a definition of intermediate ties in the context of knowledge management is introduced. With the help of cluster analysis and an investigation into the levels of reciprocity, intermediate ties can be clearly defined in a social network. Due to their importance for knowledge transfer in a social network, intermediate ties should be primarily supported, for example by appropriate ICT.  相似文献

A 2-stage model of the construction of explanations for differences between groups is presented. Category norms affect which of 2 groups becomes "the effect to be explained," and stereotypes shape attributions about that group. In 3 experiments, 288 participants wrote explanations for differences between gay and straight men. Explanations focused on gay men who were also judged to have more mutable attributes. However, these effects were not correlated. Participants focused explanations on straight men when explicitly instructed to do so (Experiment 1). Explanations focused on both groups equally when the gay men constituted the numerically larger sample, when gay men were more typical of the overarching category (i.e., people with AMS) than straight men, or when more straight men were described as performing the behavior (Experiment 2). Stereotype-consistent information prompted more essentialist references and fewer reconstructive references to gay men than did stereotype-inconsistent information (Experiment 3). In this paper, we investigate the effects of integration schemes on the STI-CMP performance of two polishers, as well as the influence of consumables and process parameters. The experiment was based on both the blanket-oxide wafers and the patterned wafers processed using 0.18 μm technology. The polishing capability was evaluated, based on the results collected using metrology tools such as Opti-probe, Tencor profiler; atomic force microscope (AFM), and x-ray-scanning electron microscopy (X-SEM) analysis.  相似文献

One of the primary candidates for the liner/etch stop layer in damascene process is silicon nitride (Si3N4). However, silicon nitride has a high dielectric constant of 7.0. To reduce the effective dielectric constant in Copper (Cu) damascene structure, dielectric SiC:H (prepared by plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) using trimethylsilane source) as the Cu diffusion barrier was studied. The dielectric constant of SiC:H used is 4.2. A systematic study was made on the properties of liner material and electro-chemically plated (ECP) Cu to enhance the adhesion strength in Cu/low-dielectric constant (k) multilevel interconnects. Though the effects of as Si3N4 the liner have been much studied in the past, less is known about the relation between adhesion strength of ECP Cu layer and physical vapor deposited (PVD) Cu seeds, with seed thickness below 1000 Å. The annealing of Cu seed layer was carried out at 200 °C in N2 ambient for 30 min was carried out to study the impact on adhesion strength and the microstructure evolution on the adhesion between ECP Cu and its barrier layer. In the study, our claim that SiC:H barrier/etch stop layer is essential for replacing conventional Si3N4 layer in enhancing adhesion strength and interfacial bonding between Cu/dielectric interconnects.  相似文献
