Soymilk was made less astringent by the addition of skimmed cow's milk (SCM), CaSO4 or citric acid. The additions of CaSO4 and citric acid were not sufficient to cause visible separation of soymilk solids, but there was some difference in mouthfeel due to the additions. Warm temperatures (65°C) of the soymilk resulted in a loss of astringency compared to sensory evaluation at room temperature or 4°C. Analyses for total polyphenols showed statistically significant decreases in apparent polyphenol content per gram of soymilk solids with the first level of addition of SCM, CaSO4, or citric acid but not with subsequent additions. 相似文献

In this paper, we present a complete and novel solution to the well known buffer storage design problem in a serial production line. The key ingredient of the solution is the efficient calculation of the gradient vector of the throughput with respect to the various buffer sizes. Yttrium hydroxide gel was dried by five techniques to study their influences on the sintering behavior of yttria. Dried precursors, calcined and sintered oxides, and the initial gel were examined via Fourier transform infrared photoacoustic and/or attenuated total reflection spectroscopies. Carbonate was found to be in unidentate coordination to surface yttrium on both the dried hydroxide precursor and calcined oxide particles. An inverse correlation was found between the normalized surface carbonate concentration (carbonate concentration (wt%)/surface area (m2 /g) of precursors and calcined oxides and the density of their corresponding sintered bodies. Carbonate affects sintered density during the calcination and sintering steps. 相似文献

From several mercury removing microorganisms, we selected Bacillus megaterium MB1, which is non-pathogenic, broad-spectrum mercury resistant, mercuric ion reducing, heat tolerant, and spore-forming, as a useful bacterium for bioremediation of mercury pollution. In this study, mercury removal performance of the immobilized B. megaterium MB1 was investigated to develop safe, efficient and stable catalytic bio-agent for mercury bioremediation. The results showed that the alginate gel immobilized B. megaterium MB1 cells efficiently removed 80% of mercury from the solution containing 10 mg/L mercuric chloride within 24 h. These cells still had high activity of mercury removal even after mercuric ion loading was repeated for nine times. The analysis of mercury contents of the alginate beads with and without immobilized B. megaterium MB1 suggested that a large portion of reduced metallic mercury was trapped in the gel beads. It was concluded that the alginate gel immobilized B. megaterium MB1 cells have potential to remove and recover mercury from mercury-containing water. 相似文献

We present the application of Fourier transform‐second‐harmonic generation (FT‐SHG) imaging to evaluate the arrangement of collagen fibers in five nonpregnant rat cervices. Tissue slices from the mid‐cervix and near the external orifice of the cervix were analyzed in both two‐dimensions (2D) and three‐dimensions (3D). We validate that the cervical microstructure can be quantitatively assessed in three dimensions using FT‐SHG imaging and observe collagen fibers oriented both in and out‐of‐plane in the outermost and the innermost layers, which cannot be observed using 2D FT‐SHG analysis alone. This approach has the potential to be a clinically applicable method for measuring progressive changes in collagen organization during cervical remodeling in humans. 相似文献
