The damage process in quasi‐brittle materials is characterized by the evolution of a micro‐crack field, followed by the joining of micro‐cracks, stress localization and crack instability. In network models, masses are lumped at nodal points which are interconnected by one‐dimensional elements with a bilinear constitutive relation, considering the energy consistency during the simulated process. In order to replicate the material imperfections, to render a realistic behaviour in damage localization, the model has not only random elastic and rupture properties, but also a geometric perturbation. In the present paper 2D plates with different levels of brittleness are simulated. The numerical results are presented in terms of global stress vs strain diagram, final network configuration, energy balance during the process and as geometric damage evolution. Therefore, the predictive potential of the lattice discrete element model to capture fracture processes in quasi‐brittle materials is demonstrated.  相似文献

This work was carried out to investigate the effect of different Ti concentrations as a modifying agent on the microstructure and tensile properties of an in-situ Al-15 pctMg2Si composite. Cast, modified, and homogenized small ingots were extruded at 753 K (480 °C) at the extrusion ratio of 18:1 and ram speed of 1 mm/s. Various techniques including metallography, tensile testing, and scanning electron microscopy were used to characterize the mechanical behavior, microstructural observations, and fracture mechanisms of this composite. The results showed that 0.5 pctTi addition and homogenizing treatment were highly effective in modifying Mg2Si particles. The results also exhibited that the addition of Ti up to 0.5 pct increases both ultimate tensile strength (UTS) and tensile elongation values. The highest UTS and elongation values were found to be 245 MPa and 9.5 pct for homogenized and extruded Al-15 pctMg2Si-0.5 pctTi composite, respectively. Fracture surface examinations revealed a transition from brittle fracture mode in the as-cast composite to ductile fracture in homogenized and extruded specimens. This can be attributed to the changes in size and morphology of Mg2Si intermetallic and porosity content.  相似文献

Currently, most of the information available in the Web is adapted primarily for human consumption, but there is so much information that can no longer be processed by a person in a reasonable time, either in digital or physical formats. To solve this problem, the idea of the Semantic Web arose. The Semantic Web deals with adding machine-readable information to Web pages. Ontologies represent a very important element of this web, as they provide a valid and robust structure to represent knowledge based on concepts, relations, axioms, etc. The need for overcoming the bottleneck provoked by the manual construction of ontologies has generated several studies and research on obtaining semiautomatic methods to learn ontologies. In this sense, this paper proposes a new ontology learning methodology based on semantic role labeling from digital Spanish documents. The method makes it possible to represent multiple semantic relations specially taxonomic and partonomic ones in the standardized OWL 2.0. A set of experiments has been performed with the approach implemented in educational domain that show promising results.  相似文献

Two main data models are currently used for representing knowledge and information in computer systems. Database models, especially relational databases, have been the leader in last few decades, enabling information to be efficiently stored and queried. On the other hand, ontologies have appeared as an alternative to databases in applications that require a more ‘enriched’ meaning. However, there is controversy regarding the best information modeling technique, as both models present similar characteristics. In this paper, we present a review of how ontologies and databases are related, of what their main differences are and of the mechanisms used to communicate with each other.  相似文献

This work presents a study on the performance of several algorithms on different continuous dynamic optimization problems. Eight algorithms have been used: SORIGA (an Evolutionary Algorithm), an agents-based algorithm, the mQSO (a widely used multi-population PSO) as well as three heuristic-rule-based variations of it, and two trajectory-based cooperative strategies. The algorithms have been tested on the Moving Peaks Benchmark and the dynamic version of the Ackley, Griewank and Rastrigin functions. For each problem, a wide variety of configuration variations have been used, emphasizing the influence of dynamism, and using a full-factorial experimental design. The results give an interesting overview of the properties of the algorithms and their applicability, and provide useful hints to face new problems of this type with the best algorithmic approach. Additionally, a recently introduced methodology for comparing a high number of experimental results in a graphical way is used.  相似文献

We experimentally demonstrate a hybrid configuration for quantum key distribution that combines the simplicity of distributed-phase-reference protocols with the self-referencing features and polarization insensitivity of the so-called plug-and-play system. Additionally, all the components are arranged in a server–client scheme to allow for practical key distribution. Blank, coherent pulse pair trains are generated at the reception end of the link by means of a pulse sequence and an unbalanced interferometer and sent to the other end. The emitter writes the qubits by erasing one of the pulses from the pair as in a coherent one-way protocol. Detection, as well as eavesdropping monitoring, is performed at the receiver side, using the same interferometer that was used to generate the initial phase-referenced pulses.  相似文献

Major challenges of water use in the drilling and fracturing process in shale gas production are large volumes required in a short‐period of time and the nonsteady nature of wastewater treatment. A new mixed‐integer linear programming (MILP) model for optimizing capital investment decisions for water use for shale gas production through a discrete‐time representation of the State‐Task Network is presented. The objective is to minimize the capital cost of impoundment, piping, and treatment facility, and operating cost including freshwater, pumping, and treatment. The goal is to determine the location and capacity of impoundment, the type of piping, treatment facility locations and removal capability, freshwater sources, as well as the frac schedule. In addition, the impact of several factors such as limiting truck hauling and increasing flowback volume on the solution is examined.
