66 inpatients who met the DSM-III-R and ICD-10 criteria for paranoid schizophrenia-active phase were assessed using the SAPS and CDS in order to establish interrelations between depressive and positive symptomatology. The results were then analyzed in reference do particular items of the scale CDS and the three stages of examinations. Numerous positive correlations were found between depressive symptoms and the symptoms from the subscale of Delusions and Hallucinations SAPS (Delusions of Sin or Guilt, of Mind Reading, of Being Controlled, of Reference, Somatic Delusions and Hallucinations) and negative correlations with the symptoms from the subscale of Positive Formal Thought Disorder.  相似文献

OBJECTIVES: Major operative trauma like aorta-coronary bypass operation may lead to postoperative immunodisturbance, putting the patient at an increased risk for infection and sepsis. The monocyte/macrophage system and the endotoxin receptor CD14 are important in the early recognition and elimination of invading bacteria. The aim of this study was to analyze changes in membrane-associated CD14 and soluble CD14 during and after cardiac involving cardiopulmonary bypass. METHODS: We studied numbers of leukocytes, monocytes, and monocyte subpopulations, expression of monocyte membrane-associated CD14 and plasma levels of soluble CD14 in 10 patients (63 +/- 8 years of age), who underwent elective cardiopulmonary bypass. RESULTS: Cardiopulmonary bypass induced marked postoperative monocytosis, which was maximal 20 hours after the operation (485 +/- 242 cells/microl before, 1080 +/- 264 cells/microl 20 hours after surgery). Expression of membrane-associated CD14 on classical CD14++ monocytes decreased significantly by 40%, reaching a nadir 20 hours after surgery (p < 0.05). At the time of maximal membrane-associated CD14 suppression, the levels of soluble CD14 measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay were clearly increased (3.2 +/- 1.0 microg/ml before versus 5.6 +/- 1.0 microg/ml 20 hours after, p < 0.001). No significant change of the percentage of small (alpha) and large (beta) forms of soluble CD14 was found. CONCLUSIONS: Cardiopulmonary bypass leads to reduced membrane-associated CD14 expression on peripheral blood monocytes and increased levels of soluble CD14 through shedding or secretion of membrane-associated CD14 from the cell surface. These findings indicate that bypass is associated with significant monocyte activation.  相似文献

C57BL/6 (B6) and C57BL/6.Fv-1n (B6.Fv-1n) mice mount AKR/Gross murine leukemia virus (MuLV)-specific cytolytic T lymphocyte (CTL) responses following primary and secondary stimulation with AKR/Gross MuLV-induced tumor cells. In contrast, mice exposed to infectious virus rather than virus-infected cells generate little, if any, antiviral CTL activity. In this report, we show that inoculation of B6 or B6.Fv-1n mice with MuLV prior to priming with H-2-matched AKR/Gross virus antigen-positive tumor cells resulted in a profound inhibition of the virus-specific CTL response. Antiallogeneic major and minor histocompatibility antigen-specific CTL responses were not significantly diminished in MuLV-infected mice. The AKR/Gross MuLV-specific CTL response in B6 mice was inhibited by NB-tropic (SL3-3NB, Friend and Moloney), but not N-tropic (AKR623) MuLV, suggesting that productive infection of host cells was required. We were unable to inhibit the in vitro generation of virus-specific CTL by adding modulator cells from virus-infected mice to mixed lymphocyte-tumor cell cultures (MLTC) of spleen cells from uninfected animals. We also failed to augment CTL generation in MLTC from virus-infected animals by adding exogenous IL-2 or CD4+ lymphocytes from uninfected, tumor-primed mice. Taken together, the data suggested that the inhibition resulted from either a direct or an indirect effect on the in vivo priming of virus-specific CD8+ cells. It is therefore interesting that MuLV such as Friend and Moloney, which do not encode the immunodominant epitope recognized by anti-AKR/Gross MuLV CTL, are nonetheless able to specifically inhibit this response. These results demonstrate a potentially important mechanism by which retroviruses may escape CTL-mediated immunity.  相似文献

Basophil granulocytes and their mediators are involved in the pathogenesis of allergic inflammation. We evaluated basophil count, blood histamine content, eosinophil count and serum total IgE levels in one hundred-thirteen healthy newborns at birth. 102 children were prospectively studied with a follow up to 18 months of age for development of atopic disorders. No difference was found in newborns with biparental family history of atopy (FHA) in comparison with newborns with monoparental FHA and with newborns without FHA. Children who developed atopic disorders had neonatal basophil counts higher than those who did not develop atopic symptoms (p = 0.03). No significant correlation was found between basophil and eosinophil counts (rs = 0.013), between basophil count and serum total IgE levels (rs = 0.012) and between basophil count and blood histamine content. Positive predictive value and sensitivity of basophil count for allergy up to 18 months of age was only 33% and 27%, respectively. Our data indicate that an increased basophil count at birth is not associated with FHA and is not a good predictive marker of atopy.  相似文献

An investigation of the M23C6 carbide (M = metal atom) precipitation induced by ageing at 550°C and 700°C in AISI 304 stainless steel was performed using Small Angle Neutron Scattering (SANS) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). Coherent scattering cross section curves were obtained for the differently aged samples from which the total surface and total volumes of precipitates per unit volume of sample were determined. The size distribution function of M23C6 carbide was obtained for each ageing time. The SANS results are in satisfactory agreement with the localized TEM observations.  相似文献

The way in which the brain integrates fragmentary neural events at multiple locations to produce unified perceptual experience and behaviour is called the binding problem. Binding has been proposed to involve correlated activity at different cortical sites during perceptuomotor behaviour, particularly by synchronization of narrow-band oscillations in the gamma-frequency range (30-80 Hz). In the rabbit olfactory system, inhalation induces increased gamma-correlation between sites in olfactory bulb and cortex. In the cat visual system, coherent visual stimuli increase gamma-correlation between sites in both the same and different visual cortical areas. In monkeys, some groups have found that gamma-oscillations transiently synchronize within striate cortex, superior temporal sulcus and somatosensorimotor cortex. Others have reported that visual stimuli produce increased broad-band power, but not gamma-oscillations, in several visual cortical areas. But the absence of narrow-band oscillations in itself does not disprove interregional synchronization, which may be a broad-band phenomenon. We now describe episodes of increased broad-band coherence among local field potentials from sensory, motor and higher-order cortical sites of macaque monkeys performing a visual discrimination task. Widely distributed sites become coherent without involving other intervening sites. Spatially selective multiregional cortical binding, in the form of broad-band synchronization, may thus play a role in primate perceptuomotor behaviour.  相似文献

In traditional sediment grain-size separation using sieve technique, the bulk of the organic matter passes through the smallest mesh size (generally 38 microm) and is not further fractionated. In this study, a common sieve separation has therefore been coupled with an extra high capacity split flow thin cell fractionation (EHC-SPLITT) instrument to separate the bulk surface sediment not only into size-based sieve fractions (> 100, 63-100, 38-63 and < 38 microm) but particularly to further fractionate hydrodynamically the fine fraction (< 38 microm) using the EHC-SPLITT. Compared to the few previous studies using a smaller high capacity (HC) SPLITT cell, the EHC-SPLITT evaluated in detail here has several advantages (e.g., 23 times higher throughput and allowance for large particle diameters). First, the EHC-SPLITT was calibrated with particle standards. Then, its ability to fractionate fine surface sediments hydrodynamically was demonstrated with material from biogeochemically distinct regimes using two cutoff velocities (1 and 6 m d(-1)). The results from particle standards indicated a good agreement between theory and experiment and a satisfactory mass recovery for the sieve-SPLITT method (80-97%) was observed for sediment samples. The mass distributions revealed that particles < 38 microm were predominant (70-90%), indicating the large need for a technique such as the EHC-SPLITT to further fractionate the fine particles. There were clearly different compositions in the EHC-SPLITT-mediated sub-fractions of the sediment fines as indicated by analyses of organic and inorganic parameters (POC, Si, Fe and Al). The EHC-SPLITT technique has the potential to provide information of great utility to studies of benthic boundary layer transport and off-shelf export and how such processes fractionate geochemical signals.  相似文献
