Transonic flows around a rocket were computed using the second-order TVD scheme proposed by Harten for solving the two- and three-dimensional unsteady, compressible Navier-Stokes equations in the conservation-law form. LU-ADI and DD-ADI schemes were employed to the implicit part. The influences of the Reynolds number on the shock-wave/boundary-layer and the shock-wave/vortex interaction were clarified by the two-dimensional analysis. The three-dimensional computations show that there is no stationary shock-wave except near the nose cone. In the wake region, a pair of asymmetrical vortices separates periodically, and the shear layer oscillates. The computed pressure distribution on the surface of the body was compared with that of the three-dimensional experiment. The qualitative agreement of the general profile was good.  相似文献

A simple circulating system was developed, in which an aqueous solution, cow milk, or human milk was circulated through hydrophobic polymeric tubing to remove the endocrine disruptors from the solution by sorption into the tubing. The effect of circulating parameters, such as tube length, circulating time, and flow rate, against the removal ratio (R) of endocrine disruptors was investigated. R of 1,2,3,4,5,6‐hexachlorocyclohexane (γ‐HCH, lindane) increased with the length of the hydrophobic polymeric tubing, circulating time, and flow rate when cow milk containing 1 ppm γ‐HCH was circulated through polydimethylsiloxane tubing. The R values of several endocrine disruptors with different octanol–water distribution coefficients (log Pow) was investigated for γ‐HCH and dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane in an aqueous solution, cow milk, and human milk. A similar trend for R versus log Pow of the human milk to that of the aqueous solution and cow milk was observed. The R values of the endocrine disruptors decreased in the following order: Aqueous solution > Human milk > Cow milk. Stable micelles in cow milk disturbed the shift of the endocrine disruptors from the milk micelles into the hydrophobic tubing. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A latch-up-like failure phenomenon that shows hysteresis in the Vcc-Icc characteristics observed in a high-density CMOS dynamic RAM that utilizes an on-chip substrate-bias generator is discussed. This failure is caused by large substrate-current generation due to the depletion-mode threshold voltage of n-channel transistors at near-zero substrate-bias operation. A self-assembled monolayer of polystyrene (PS) beads is formed on a silicon wafer by spin-coating. After drying at 80?°C, a thin film of metal/oxide is deposited. During the deposition, the PS beads are detached due to forces such as the inner stress induced by plasma sputtering deposition, mechanical vibration, and centrifugal shearing induced by substrate rotation, resulting in nanoring/nanohole formation. Further experiments demonstrate that the PS?detachment can be controlled by scanning probe microscopy (SPM) tip manipulation. We believe this is a promising set of processes for fabricating nanodevice structures such as those of vertical nanotransistors, which provides high flexibility for nanocrystal characterizations and application for single-electron devices.  相似文献

In all living systems, the genome is replicated by proteins that are encoded within the genome itself. This universal reaction is essential to allow the system to evolve. Here, we have constructed a simplified system involving encapsulated macromolecules termed a "self-encoding system", in which the genetic information is replicated by self-encoded replicase in liposomes. That is, the universal reaction was reconstituted within a microcompartment bound by a lipid bilayer. The system was assembled by using one template RNA sequence as the information molecule and an in vitro translation system reconstituted from purified translation factors as the machinery for decoding the information. In this system, the catalytic subunit of Qbeta replicase is synthesized from the template RNA that encodes the protein. The replicase then replicates the template RNA that was used for its production. This in-liposome self-encoding system is one of the simplest such systems available; it consists of only 144 gene products, while the information and the function for its replication are encoded on different molecules and are compartmentalized into the microenvironment for evolvability.  相似文献

Human skin temperatures were measured under exposure to near-infrared radiation through solar control glazings containing SiWOx films as solar control materials. It was found that the increase in skin temperature corresponds to the solar transmittance (Ts) value of the glazings. When the hand was exposed to radiation through a glazing containing solar films, the skin temperature after five minutes was less 0.9–1.8°C lower than when the corresponding glass without the films was used. The solar control glazings were effective in reducing the increase in skin temperature.  相似文献

Pancreatic cancer is a fatal disease, and thus its chemoprevention is an important issue. Based on the recent report that patients with allergic diseases have a low risk for pancreatic cancer, we examined the potential chemopreventive effect of anti-allergic agents using a hamster pancreatic carcinogenesis model. Among the three anti-allergic drugs administered, montelukast showed a tendency to suppress the incidence of pancreatic cancer. Further animal study revealed a significantly decreased incidence of pancreatic cancer in the high-dose montelukast group compared with controls. The development of the pancreatic intraepithelial neoplasia lesions was also significantly suppressed. The Ki-67 labeling index was significantly lower in pancreatic carcinomas in the high-dose montelukast group than in controls. In vitro experiments revealed that montelukast suppressed proliferation of pancreatic cancer cells in a dose-dependent manner with decreased expression of phospho-ERK1/2. Montelukast induced G1 phase arrest. Conversely, leukotriene D4 (LTD4), an agonist of CYSLTR1, increased cellular proliferation of pancreatic cancer cells with an accumulation of phospho-ERK1/2. In our cohort, pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma patients with high CYSLTR1 expression showed a significantly unfavorable clinical outcome compared with those with low expression. Our results indicate that montelukast exerts a chemopreventive effect on pancreatic cancer via the LTD4–CYSLTR1 axis and has potential for treatment of pancreatic carcinogenesis.  相似文献

A total of seven pipe fracture tests were performed to provide the data for establishing fracture criteria of leak before break for the low alloy steel pipe, which is expected to be applied to reactor coolant piping and feedwater piping in advanced PWRs in Japan. Test pipes were 6-inch and 8-inch diameter pipes made of SFVQ1A or STPA24 low alloy steel. A circumferential through-wall crack was introduced at the center of a pipe, and four-point bending load was applied without internal pressure. Stable crack extensions were observed in all of the experiments. The net-section criteria (NSC), R6 method option 2 and option 3 were used to estimate the maximum applied load. The predicted values by three kinds of evaluation methods were compared with the experimental loads. Most of the predicted maximum loads agreed well with the experimental maximum loads within 20% difference. The NSC gave the most accurate prediction but also gave unconservative results in some test cases. The predicted maximum loads by R6 option 2 were conservative in all of the test cases. From the viewpoint of conservativeness R6 method can be used for evaluation of the low alloy steel pipe fracture. Therefore, the leak before break (LBB) concept could be applied to the protective design standard against pipe break for the material.  相似文献

Human nails analysis as biomarker of exposure to perfluoroalkyl compounds   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Extensive human exposure to perfluoroalkyl compounds (PFAA) together with their persistence and various toxicities have arisen increasing concern. A noninvasive method would improve exposure assessment for large population, especially the children susceptible to contaminants. The aim of the study was to assess the use of PFAA measurements in human nails as a biomarker of exposure to PFAAs. Fingernail, toenail, and blood samples were collected from 28 volunteers. The PFAA concentrations were determined by high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS). Six PFAA were detected in nails, with perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) being the compound with the highest median concentration (33.5 and 26.1 ng/g in fingernail and toenail, respectively). Followed was perfluorononanoate (PFNA), with the median concentrations of 20.4 and 16.8 ng/g, respectively, in fingernail and toenail. Other PFAA detected were perfluorooctanoate (PFOA), perfluorodecanoate (PFDA), perfluorododecanoate (PFDoA), and perfluorotetradecanoate (PFTA), with median levels ranging between 0.19 and 8.94 ng/g. PFOS and PFNA concentrations in fingernail significantly correlated with those in serum. Fingernail PFOS and PFNA levels were 2.8 and 24.4 times, respectively, higher than the serum levels. The accumulation of PFAA in nails, together with its advantages in noninvasive sampling and ability of reflecting long-term exposure, made nails PFAA an attractive biomarker of exposure.  相似文献
