This paper presents a review of the development of large-scale hydrogen liquefaction processes throughout the world from 1898 to 2009. First, there is a concise literature review including numerous past, present, and future designs given such as the first hydrogen liquefaction device, long time ago simple theoretical processes, today's actual plants with efficiencies 20–30%, a list of the capacity and location of every hydrogen liquefaction plant in the world, and some modern more efficient proposed conceptual plants with efficiencies 40–50%. After that, further information about the development and improvement potential of future large-scale liquid hydrogen liquefaction plants is given. It is found that every current plant is based on the pre-cooled Claude system, which is still the same as was 50 years ago with little improvement. Methods to resolve the challenges of the future plants include proposing completely new configurations and efficient systems coupled with improved efficiencies of the main system components such as compressors, expanders, and heat exchangers. Finally, a summary and comparison of the process efficiencies are described, including a newly proposed Multi-component Refrigerant (MR) system being developed by NTNU and SINTEF Energy Research AS. 相似文献

将黑豆及麦麸作为发酵基质,分别以高产植酸酶的乳酸片球菌(Pediococcus acidilactici)L-19及产β-葡萄糖苷酶的戊糖片球菌(Pediococcus pentosaceus)J-28作为发酵剂制作酸面团面包。探究菌株的生长、酸化及产酶特性,分析体系中植酸与膳食纤维的变化,采用低场核磁共振及磁共振成像技术表征面筋的水合情况,并比较面包面团的物性与微观结构差异,同时对黑豆麦麸酸面团面包的营养及感官品质进行评价。结果表明:在黑豆麦麸基质中,两株乳酸菌生长良好,酸化能力强,两者表现出不同的产酶特性。经发酵后,两种酸面团的植酸降解率分别达到81.08%、59.79%,可溶性膳食纤维含量在总膳食纤维中的占比由发酵前的22.49%分别提高至31.47%、44.15%。黑豆及麦麸干扰面筋水合,不利于形成连续的网络结构,而乳酸菌发酵能够降低黑豆及麦麸对面筋网络的破坏作用。在营养方面,两种酸面团面包的总膳食纤维含量均高于6%,蛋白质含量分别达到13.82%、13.91%,并且具有更优的氨基酸组成模式及更高的体外蛋白消化率。因此,实验中的两株乳酸菌能够有效改善黑豆麦麸酸面团面包的营养及感... 相似文献

A new potassium tetraamidoboranealuminate, K[Al(NH2BH3)4], has been synthesized by a mechanochemical reaction between KAlH4 and NH3BH3. The compound, K[Al(NH2BH3)4], crystallizes in a triclinic unit cell with space group symmetry P?1. The crystal structure consists of [K(NH2BH3)6]5? octahedra which facilitate the bridging between K+ in 1D chains, while also bridging K+ to Al3+ to connect the 1D chains in a 3D network. Thermal analysis reveals that K[Al(NH2BH3)4] decomposes in two exothermic steps at T ~ 94 and 138 °C and releases primarily hydrogen. The total gas release amounts to ~6.0 wt% H2. The decomposition products are investigated ex situ by powder X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, and 11B and 27Al NMR and identified as KBH4 and amorphous phases, possibly BN3, N2BH, and/or NBH2 whereas aluminum is found in four-, five-, and six-fold coordination. As the world moves toward more green and efficient means of modes of transport, electric vehicles are the most suitable and ideal choice to fulfill this requirement. Rapid developments in the field of battery technology are the main reason for their progress, but thermal management in such systems has been an area of concern for a long time. The work undertaken is to design and develop a battery management system (BMS) with a specific focus on the thermal behavior of the battery pack with varying vehicle loads as well as environmental conditions. To design an efficient BMS, one needs to model the battery behavior covering the thermal as well as electrical aspects of the battery. Apart from the battery model, a mathematical model of the electrical vehicle to mimic the various road load conditions for battery also needs to be modeled. Depending on the need for cooling based on battery behavior, the cooling circuit is modeled for the battery pack used. Beer spoiling lactic acid bacteria are a major reason for quality complaints in breweries around the world. Spoilage by a variety of these bacteria can result in haze, sediment, slime, off-flavours and acidity. As these bacteria occur frequently in the brewing environment, using certain hop products that inhibit the growth of these spoilers could be a solution to prevent problems. To investigate the impact of seven different hop compounds (α-acids, iso-α-acids, tetrahydro-iso-α-acids, rho-iso-α-acids, xanthohumol, iso-xanthohumol and humulinones) on the growth of six major beer spoilage bacteria (Lactobacillus brevis. L. backi, L. coryniformis, L. lindneri, L. buchneri, Pediococcus damnosous), two concentrations (10 and 25 mg/L) of each hop substance were added to unhopped beer. The potential growth of the spoilage bacteria was investigated over 56 consecutive days. A comparison of the results shows a strong inhibition of growth of all spoilage bacteria at 25 mg/L of tetrahydro-iso-α-acids closely followed by α-acids as the second most inhibitory substance. The results showed a high resistance of L. brevis to all hop compounds as well as an inhibition of L. coryniformis and L. buchneri at low concentrations of most hop components. In comparison with the control sample, L. lindneri showed increased growth in the presence of some hop compounds (rho-iso-α-acids, xanthohumol, iso-xanthohumol, humulinones). © 2020 The Authors. Hexabromocyclododecanes (HBCDs) are brominated aliphatic cyclic hydrocarbons used as flame retardants in thermal insulation building materials, upholstery textiles, and electronics. As a result of their widespread use and their physical and chemical properties, HBCDs are now ubiquitous contaminants in the environment and humans. This review summarizes HBCD concentrations in several environmental compartments and analyzes these data in terms of point sources versus diffuse sources, biomagnification potential, stereoisomer profiles, time trends, and global distribution. Generally, higher concentrations were measured in samples (air, sediment, and fish) collected near point sources (plants producing or processing HBCDs), while lower concentrations were recorded in samples from locations with no obvious sources of HBCDs. High concentrations were measured in top predators, such as marine mammals and birds of prey (up to 9600 and 19 200 ng/g lipid weight, respectively), suggesting a biomagnification potential for HBCDs. Relatively low HBCD concentrations were reported in the few human studies conducted to date (median values varied between 0.35 and 1.1 ng/g lipid weight). HBCD levels in biota are increasing slowly and seem to reflect the local market demand. One important observation is the shiftfrom the high percentage of the gamma-HBCD stereoisomer in the technical products to a dominance of the alpha-HBCD stereoisomer in biological samples. A combination of factors such as variations in solubility, partitioning behavior, uptake, and, possibly, selective metabolism of individual isomers may explain the observed changes in stereoisomer patterns. Recommendations for further work include research on how HBCDs are transferred from products into the environment upon production, use, and disposal. Time trends need to be analyzed more in detail, including HBCD stereoisomers, and more data on terrestrial organisms are needed, especially for humans. Peer interactions among children have long interested social scientists. Identifying causal peer effects is difficult, and a number of studies have used random assignment to produce evidence that peers affect each other's outcomes. This focus by sociologists and economists on whether peers affect each other has not been matched by direct evidence on how these effects operate. The authors argue that one reason for the small number of studies in sociology and economics on the mechanisms underlying peer effects is the difficulty of collecting data on microinteractions. They argue technology reduces data collection costs relative to direct observation and allows for realistic school activities with randomly assigned peers. The authors describe a novel strategy for collecting data on peer interactions and discuss how this approach might shed light on mechanisms underlying peer influence. The centerpiece of this strategy is the use of handheld computers by middle and high school students as part of interactive math and science lessons called the Discussion Game. The handhelds collect data on interactions between students and track how students' answers evolve as they interact with different peers.
