All-solid-state batteries based on fast Li+ conducting solid electrolytes such as Li7La3Zr2O12 (LLZO) give perspective on safe, non-inflammable, and temperature tolerant energy storage. Despite the promise, ceramic processing of whole battery assemblies reaching close to theoretical capacities and finding optimal strategies to process large-scale and low cost battery cells remains a challenge. Here, we tackle these issues and report on a solid-state battery cell composed of Li4Ti5O12 / c-Li6.25Al0.25La3Zr2O12 / metallic Li delivering capacities around 70–75 Ah/kg with reversible cycling at a rate of 8 A/kg (for 2.5–1.0 V, 95 °C). A key aspect towards the increase in capacity and Li+ transfer at the solid electrolyte-electrode interface is found to be the intimate embedding of grains and their connectivity, which can be implemented by the isostatic pressing of cells during their preparation. We suggest that simple adaption of ceramic processing, such as the applied pressure during processing, strongly alters the electrochemical performance by assuring good grain contacts at the electrolyte-electrode interface. Among the garnet-type all-solid-state ceramic battery assemblies in the field, considerably improved capacities and cycling properties are demonstrated for Li4Ti5O12 / c-Li6.25Al0.25La3Zr2O12 / metallic Li pressed cells, giving new perspectives on cheap ceramic processing and up-scalable garnet-based all-solid-state batteries. 相似文献

In this paper we present a software programmable design flow that facilitates the implementation and integration of efficient digital pre-distortion (DPD) solutions on the leading-edge field programmable gate arrays, combining industry-standard embedded processors and programmable logic fabric into one chip. In addition to software programmability, another key contribution of this design flow is the flexible partitioning of functionality among the hardware and software components, depending on the complexity of the DPD parameter estimation algorithm in use. We have applied processor-specific optimizations to the software implementation and used Vivado high-level synthesis (HLS) tool as the design tool for the programmable logic. Furthermore, we have compared two different techniques for the integration of hardware and software components, where we have chosen the one with better area/latency trade-off. We present a comprehensive study reporting the DPD parameter update times when exploring the partitioning of the functionality among hardware and software. For low-complexity algorithms, we show that a software-only solution is applicable after carrying out the processor-specific software optimizations. For higher-complexity algorithms, we use Vivado HLS to accelerate the time-consuming blocks in the programmable logic, leading to a speed-up factor of up to 7× in the overall algorithm execution time. We present the performance results for two target devices. We also show that our accelerators use only a small portion of the programmable logic fabric on these devices and that a significant reduction of the system’s energy consumption can be obtained by leveraging the FPGA fabric. 相似文献

A novel technique is presented that addresses the issue of how to apply internal standard (IS) to dried matrix spot (DMS) samples that allows the IS to integrate with the sample prior to extraction. The TouchSpray, a piezo electric spray system, from The Technology Partnership (TTP), was used to apply methanol containing IS to dried blood spot (DBS) samples. It is demonstrated that this method of IS application has the potential to work in practice, for use in quantitative determination of circulating exposures of pharmaceuticals in toxicokinetic and pharmacokinetic studies. Three different methods of IS application were compared: addition of IS to control blood prior to DBS sample preparation (control 1), incorporation into extraction solvent (control 2), and the novel use of TouchSpray technology (test). It is demonstrated that there was no significant difference in accuracy and precision data using these three techniques obtained using both manual extraction and direct elution. 相似文献
