In this study, the equilibrium and dynamic surface tensions of sodium chloride and potassium chloride solutions have been measured as a function of concentration up to saturation (5.2 M for NaCl and 4.1 M for KCl) using sessile bubble tensiometry. The experimental results show that the surface tension of these and other salts significantly increases with increasing concentration due to negative adsorption of ions at the air/brine interface, regardless of their structure maker and breaker nature. Furthermore, the effect of these salts on the surface tension of aqueous solutions of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and methyl isobutyl carbinol (MIBC) was also studied. These results show that the salts increased the surface activity of SDS and MIBC. In the case of SDS, KCl increased the surface activity of SDS more significantly than NaCl did. In the case of MIBC, the effect of NaCl on MIBC surface activity was more significant than that of KCl. 相似文献

We prepared constrictions on ferromagnetic GaMnAs layer by the local anodic oxidation (LAO) using the atomic force microscope (AFM). These oxide lines, produced by the negatively biased AFM tip, formed the electrical barrier to the conducting holes in the layer. The constricted samples were characterized at low temperature (12 K). They showed magnetoresistance effect specific for nanoconstrictions during in-plane magnetic field sweep in both polarities for the different mutual orientation of magnetic field and current. The LAO appears to become a useful patterning technique for research of ferromagnetic semiconductor nanostructures. Further optimization of LAO parameters for reaching better homogeneity of the oxide lines is needed. 相似文献

Liquid natural gas (LNG) delivered by means of sea-ships is compressed and then evaporated before its introduction to the system of pipelines. The possibilities of the utilization of cryogenic exergy of LNG for electricity production without any additional combustion of any its portion, have been analyzed. Three variants of the plant have been investigated. A cascade system with two working fluids has been analyzed in two first of them. The economic optimization proved that the optimum temperature difference in the LNG evaporation is higher than initially assumed. Therefore, a third variant of the plant has been analyzed, with ethane as a single working fluid. Only the third variant has been analyzed in detail. 相似文献

The clustering of spatio-temporal patterns are essential for many applications. Established from the biological analogy of the cortex, the parametrically coupled logistic map network (PCLMN) provides a viable solution to the clustering problem. To engineer for a single-chip spatio-temporal pattern clustering system, the highly modular PCLMN is designed in analog circuit. In this paper, the 0.6 μm 5 V CMOS design of the processing element is presented. The analog design employs self-calibration techniques to improve the accuracy and robustness of the nonlinear circuits. A fabricated element covers a die area of 0.55 mm2, and consumes 240 mW power at 5 V supply. After calibration, simulation and testing results show that the element fulfills the system-level requirement of the Cort-X model for driving signals up to 1 MHz. 相似文献

This paper gives an overview of physics-based modeling of optoelectronic nanostructures, driven by diverse applications such as photovoltaics, solid-state lighting, communications and sensing. The AE44 (Mg–4Al–4RE) alloy was prepared by a hot-chamber die casting method. The microstructure, microstructural stability and creep properties at 175 °C were investigated. The microstructure was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and the Rietveld method. The results show that die cast AE44 magnesium alloy consists of α-Mg, Al11RE3, Al2RE and Al2.12RE0.88 phases. The Al11RE3 phase is thermally stable at 175 °C whereas the metastable Al2.12RE0.88 phase undergoes a transition into the equilibrium Al2RE phase. The alloy investigated is characterized by good creep properties at temperatures of 175 °C and 200 °C. 相似文献

This study evaluates the role of partial coalescence of whey protein-stabilized emulsions on sensory perception. The selection of fats was restricted to vegetable fats that are essentially melted at oral temperatures. The sensitivity to partial coalescence was controlled by a variation in the fat melting curve and by addition of unsaturated monoglyceride. Most fat-related sensory attributes appear to be well-correlated to an increase in viscosity and coalescence in the mouth due to partial coalescence. Moreover, it was found that in-mouth aeration induces extra coalescence, which increases the perception of fat-related sensory attributes significantly. 相似文献

Nitric oxide (NO) affects multiple gastrointestinal functions, including mucosal inflammation and antimicrobial activity. The aim of this study was to screen the ability of probiotic bacteria to stimulate NO production in porcine intestinal epithelial cells and macrophages in the presence and absence of interferon gamma (INF-γ). Production of NO in intestinal epithelium was stimulated by individual strains of lactobacilli without INF-γ priming. While none of the tested bifidobacteria were capable of inducing NO production, most constitutively secreted NO. Most tested strains induced a significant increase in NO production compared with the control cells in the macrophage cell line 3D4/21. Results support the protective role of the individual strains of the genera Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium and may lead to new approaches for manipulating and regulating immune responses at the mucosal surfaces of the gastrointestinal tract. 相似文献
