A balanced translocation (13; 18) (q 22; p 11) was diagnosed in two generations. Out of 10 pregnancies in these two translocation carriers, mother and daughter, only two phenotypically normal childern were born. One of these, namely the daughter, showed balanced translocation, whilst a normal karyotype was diagnosed prenatally in the second case. The other eight pregnancies ended either in spontaneous abortions, in intrauterine death or in lethal malformations. Optimization of industrial‐scale deodorization of high‐oleic sunflower oil (HOSO) via response surface methodology is presented in this study. The results of an experimental program conducted on an industrial‐scale deodorizer were analyzed statistically. Predictive models were derived for each of the oil quality indicators (QI) in dependence on the studied variable deodorization process parameters. The deodorization behavior of some minor components was analyzed on a pilot‐scale deodorizer. For comparison, a similar experimental program was also performed on the laboratory‐scale. The results of this study demonstrate that optimization of the deodorization process requires a suitable compromise between often mutually opposing demands dictated by different oil QI. The production of HOSO with top‐quality organoleptic and nutritional values (high tocopherol and phytosterol contents and low free and trans fatty acid contents) and high oxidative stability demands deodorization temperatures in the range between 220 and 235 °C and a total sparge steam above 2.0% (wt/wt in oil). The response surface methodology provides the tools needed to identify the optimum deodorization process conditions. However, the laboratory‐scale experiments, while showing similar response characteristics of QI in dependence on the process parameters and thus helpful as a guide, are of limited value in the optimization of an industrial‐scale operation. 相似文献

In this work, the effect of polymer molecular weight and crosslinking reactions on the end-use properties of the microsphere water-based acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSA) is presented. Polymer molecular weight and polymer microstructure were regulated using different chain transfer agent (CTA) concentrations and by addition of a diacrylic monomer (MM). The adhesion properties of the synthesized PSAs were characterized via measurements of tack, peel adhesion and shear strength. The results of experiments have shown that the kinetics of suspension polymerization is relatively independent on the amount of CTA and MM. The amount of gel phase in the adhesive was reduced with increasing amount of CTA agent, and gel phase amount may be considered as a function of polymer molecular weight. With a combination of CTA and MM was possible to regulate the amount of formed gel phase in the adhesive, as well sol phase molecular weight. All of the measured adhesion properties strongly depend on molecular weight of the synthesized polymer and on the amount of gel phase. For adhesives synthesized solely with addition of CTA, tack decreased with lower polymer molecular weight and consecutively also with lower amount of gel phase. The same trend was also observed for peel strength measurements, whereas a cohesive failure was observed for adhesives with low amount of gel phase. A maximum value for tack and shear strength was observed at 80 wt% of gel phase. In case of syntheses with a combination of CTA and MM (amount of gel phase in range from 70 to 80 wt%), tack values were distributed in quite narrow range. On the other hand, peel strength values decreased in comparison with adhesives synthesized only with CTA, regardless to the equal amount of gel phase. Trials were so up under ambient conditions in southern Malawi to determine the effectiveness of admixing locally available powders with maize to protect the grain during storage. All of the powders, dolomite, wood ash, tobacco dust, sawdust and sand, restricted infestation. The effectiveness was directly related to dosage, the highest dose 30% by weight completely covered the grain. In this paper, we present evidence of strong relationships between traffic flow conditions and the likelihood of traffic accidents (crashes), by type of crash. Traffic flow variables are measured using standard monitoring devices such as single inductive loop detectors. The key traffic flow elements that affect safety are found to be mean volume and median speed, and temporal variations in volume and speed, where variations need to be distinguished by freeway lane. We demonstrate how these relationships can form the basis for a tool that monitors the real-time safety level of traffic flow on an urban freeway. Such a safety performance monitoring tool can also be used in cost-benefit evaluations of projects aimed at mitigating congestion, by comparing the levels of safety of traffic flows patterns before and after project implementation. 相似文献
