This paper tackles the problem of discovering subtle fall risks using skeleton clustering by multi-robot monitoring. We aim to identify whether a gait has fall risks and obtain useful information in inspecting fall risks. We employ clustering of walking postures and propose a similarity of two datasets with respect to the clusters. When a gait has fall risks, the similarity between the gait which is being observed and a normal gait which was monitored in advance exhibits a low value. In subtle fall risk discovery, unsafe skeletons, postures in which fall risks appear slightly as instabilities, are similar to safe skeletons and this fact causes the difficulty in clustering. To circumvent this difficulty, we propose two instability features, the horizontal deviation of the upper and lower bodies and the curvature of the back, which are sensitive to instabilities and a data preprocessing method which increases the ability to discriminate safe and unsafe skeletons. To evaluate our method, we prepare seven kinds of gait datasets of four persons. To identify whether a gait has fall risks, the first and second experiments use normal gait datasets of the same person and another person, respectively. The third experiments consider that how many skeletons are necessary to identify whether a gait has fall risks and then we inspect the obtained clusters. In clustering more than 500 skeletons, the combination of the proposed features and our preprocessing method discriminates gaits with fall risks and without fall risks and gathers unsafe skeletons into a few clusters. 相似文献

Hybrids were obtained by crossing males of the turnip moth Agrotis segetum, which has a period of arrested development in the larval stage, with females of the migrant and nondiapausing black cutworm, Agrotis ipsilon. No progeny were obtained by crossing females of A. segetum with males of A. ipsilon. Backcrosses were successful only by crossing hybrids with both sexes of A. ipsilon. No larval oligopause occurred when hybrid larvae were reared under conditions inducing arrest in A. segetum (12L:12D, 21°C). Wind tunnel tests showed interattractiveness of F1 hybrids with A. ipsilon but not with A. segetum. Single sensillum recordings of pheromone-sensitive hairs on the antennae of males of the parent species revealed differences in the distribution of sensilla. F1 and F2 hybrids exhibited the same receptor cell types and distribution as A. ipsilon. Gas chromatographic analysis of female pheromone gland extracts revealed that F1 hybrids were also very close to A. ipsilon. 相似文献

In the frame of the EU Coordination Action CONRAD (coordinated network for radiation dosimetry), WP4 was dedicated to work on computational dosimetry with an action entitled 'Uncertainty assessment in computational dosimetry: an intercomparison of approaches'. Participants attempted one or more of eight problems. This paper presents the results from problems 4-8-dealing with the overall uncertainty budget estimate; a short overview of each problem is presented together with a discussion of the most significant results and conclusions. Scintillation effects are not negligible in the stratosphere. We present a model based on a 3D model of anisotropic and isotropic refractive index fluctuations spectra that predicts scintillation rates within the so-called small perturbation approximation. Atmospheric observations of stellar scintillation made from the AMON-RA (AMON, Absorption par les Minoritaires Ozone et NO(x); RA, rapid) balloon-borne spectrometer allows us to remotely probe wave-turbulence characteristics in the stratosphere. Data reduction from these observations brings out values of the inner scale of the anisotropic spectrum. We find metric values of the inner scale that are compatible with space-based measurements. We find a major contribution of the anisotropic spectrum relative to the isotropic contribution. When the sight line plunges into the atmosphere, strong scintillation occurs as well as coupled chromatic refraction effects. 相似文献

In cognitive aging research, the study of a general cognitive factor has been shown to have a substantial explanatory power over the study of isolated tests. The authors aimed at differentiating the impact of gender and education on global cognitive change with age from their differential impact on 4 psychometric tests using a new latent process approach, which intermediates between a single-factor longitudinal model for sum scores and an item-response theory approach for longitudinal data. The analysis was conducted on a sample of 2,228 subjects from PAQUID, a population-based cohort of older adults followed for 13 years with repeated measures of cognition. Adjusted for vascular factors, the analysis confirmed that women performed better in tests involving verbal components, while men performed better in tests involving visuospatial skills. In addition, the model suggested that women had a slightly steeper global cognitive decline with oldest age than men, even after excluding incident dementia or death. Subjects with higher education exhibited a better mean score for the 4 tests, but this difference tended to attenuate with age for tests involving a speed component. Capillary zone electrophoresis and carrier ampholytes based capillary electrophoresis have been used as a second separation step to Off-Gel isoelectric focusing for the analysis of complex peptide mixtures. A tryptic digest of four proteins (bovine serum albumin, beta-lactoglobulin, horse myoglobin, cytochrome c) has been chosen as a peptide test mixture. After assessment of different modes of capillary electrophoresis as a second dimension to Off-Gel isoelectric focusing, the optimized two-dimensional platforms provide a degree of orthogonality comparable to state-of-the-art multidimensional liquid chromatography systems as well as a practical peak capacity above 700. 相似文献

The passive remote monitoring of multi-gas mixtures was experimentally investigated using Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) radiometry. The spectral radiance data were collected using a dual-port radiometrically balanced interferometer for a variety of multi-gas plumes at a standoff distance of 60 m. Two basic sets of mixtures were studied. The first set corresponded to mixtures consisting of three gases with no overlapping spectral bands (C(2)H(2), C(2)H(4), and R14). The second set corresponded to mixtures of three gases having significant spectral overlap (C(2)H(4), R114, and R134a). For each mixture the flow rates of individual constituents were adjusted to yield specific constituent optical-density (CL) ratios. These ratios were compared to the optical-density ratios retrieved from the measured infrared radiance spectra. Results of this study indicated that for both sets of multi-gas mixtures the optical-density ratios retrieved by the passive remote monitoring technique were in good agreement with those derived from the release flow rates, provided that a simple correction scheme was introduced to compensate for the limited accuracy of the fast radiance model implemented in the monitoring algorithm. 相似文献

Using an exhaustive database on academic publications in mathematics all over the world, we study the patterns of productivity by mathematicians over the period 1984–2006. We uncover some surprising facts, such as the weakness of age related decline in productivity and the relative symmetry of international movements, rejecting the presumption of a massive “brain drain” towards the US. We also analyze the determinants of success by top US departments. In conformity with recent studies in other fields, we find that selection effects are much stronger than local interaction effects: the best departments are most successful in hiring the most promising mathematicians, but not necessarily at stimulating positive externalities among them. Finally we analyze the impact of career choices by mathematicians: mobility almost always pays, but early specialization does not. 相似文献

In this paper, we propose a method for real-time horizon tracking (i.e., separation line between the sky and the sea) in a maritime operations context. We present the fusion of an image processing algorithm with the data obtained from the inertial measurement unit (IMU). The initial aim is to filter out environmental conditions using inertial information in order to combine a video stream with onboard electronic charts. This is achieved by the detection of the horizon with an image processing algorithm in an area defined by the IMU. We then present an evaluation of the algorithm with regard to the rate of detection of the horizon and the impact of the image resolution on the computational time. The purpose of developing this method is to create an augmented reality maritime operations application. We combine the video stream with electronic charts in a single display. We use the position of the horizon in the image to split the display into different areas. Then, we use transparency to display the video, the electronic charts or both. 相似文献
