A new method for the ab initio derivation of Buerger-reduced primitive cell parameters from coordinate measurements of spots on single convergent-beam electron diffraction (CBED) patterns is described, which does not involve trial-and-error. The pattern can be taken along any zone axis, and misorientations of the crystallite by as much as a few degrees are taken into account without loss of accuracy. This derivation of cell parameters by least-squares analysis of the measurements has been automated in a program called NRCBED. Present accuracy is about 1% on lengths and 2 degrees on angles, but could be significantly improved by modelling projector lens aberrations, or by using a microscope without a projector lens. With present technology, it is possible to obtain a CBED pattern and a semi-quantitative energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) analysis simultaneously from a single microcrystal a few hundred Angstr?ms across. It becomes therefore possible to identify the material of the crystal on a single CBED pattern: a cell parameter database for known compounds is searched with the primitive cell parameters obtained in the above way, and with a mask describing the EDX results qualitatively. Feasibility is demonstrated on a crystallite of CeO2 500 Angstr?ms across. With this new approach, trial-and-error should disappear from the solution of other long-standing problems: interpretation of X-ray powder patterns for new compounds in the presence of impurity lines, or in the case of multiple phases should become straight-forward. 相似文献

This paper describes a highly digitized direct conversion receiver of a single-chip quadruple-band RF transceiver that meets GSM/GPRS and EDGE requirements. The chip uses an advanced 0.25-/spl mu/m BiCMOS technology. The I and Q on-chip fifth-order single-bit continuous-time sigma-delta (/spl Sigma//spl Delta/) ADC has 84-dB dynamic range over a total bandwidth of /spl plusmn/135 kHz for an active area of 0.4 mm/sup 2/. Hence, most of the channel filtering is realized in a CMOS IC where digital processing is achieved at a lower cost. The systematic analysis of dc offset at each stage of the design enables to perform the dc offset cancellation loop in the digital domain as well. The receiver operates at 2.7 V with a current consumption of 75 mA. A first-order substrate coupling analysis enables to optimize the floor plan strategy. This paper presents a new method, based on a multi-agent system and on a digital mock-up technology, to assess an efficient path planner for a manikin or a robot for an access and visibility task taking into account ergonomic constraints or joint and mechanical limits. In order to solve this problem, the human operator is integrated in the process optimization to contribute to a global perception of the environment. This operator cooperates, in real time, with several automatic local elementary agents. The paper reports the results of on-site regeneration catalytic bed of the natural gas reformer in a 5 kW PEM fuel cell system. The Ni catalyst previously poisoned by sulphur from the available natural gas, could be re-activated by injection of pure water steam, following the method developed for industrial reformers using the same metal catalyst: this method was shown to be perfectly efficient, provided no natural gas was fed during the operation. Integrated laser modulators are attractive devices for wavelength-division-multiplexing optical systems due to their compactness, high output power, and low cost. Their fabrication simplicity is a way to decrease further the transmitter cost and address new opening markets of short range and metropolitan networks. We report a new integration scheme electroabsorption-modulator distributed feedback (DFB) laser based on well-established industrial solutions for discrete buried ridge (BRS) DFB lasers and discrete shallow ridge modulators. Processing simplification with an identical active layer has been possible due to a good behavior of strongly positively detuned BRS lasers. The integrated devices demonstrated 30-dB extinction ratio with 10-GHz bandwidth and P/sub out/=10 dBm for emission in 1.55-/spl mu/m range. 相似文献

This article reports the purification process of detonation soot to obtain pure nanodiamond powder. Nanodiamonds are synthesized by detonation using a high explosive mixture composed of trinitrotoluene and hexogen. The detonation of the charge leads to a powder containing nanodiamonds as well as metallic impurities and sp2 carbon species. Further, to remove metallic particles, an unusual acidic treatment (hydrofluoric/nitric acids; i.e. fluorinated aqua regia) was set up. To eliminate sp2 carbon species such as graphite and amorphous carbon, a thermal oxidation treatment was performed at 420 °C under air in a furnace during several hours. Transmission Electronic Microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and Thermo-Gravimetric Analysis showed that this purification process is very efficient. From TGA measurements, a model of the carbon grain combustion was developed by considering graphitic shells surrounding the nanodiamond particles, and was used to demonstrate that the selective oxidation of graphite was experimentally realistic. Moreover, another model was set up from specific area measurements to evaluate the thickness of the functional groups surrounding the nanodiamonds after the oxidation of sp2 carbonaceous species. The migration of leucocytes through the walls of venules was examined in detail in the posterior latissimus dorsi muscle of quail-chick spinal cord chimeras, in which flaccid paralysis of the wings was observed. Examinations were made from the 70th to 80th day after hatching. Muscle fibers were degenerated and intramuscular nerve bundles destroyed. Massive leucocytes (almost lymphocytes) were found around the venules, depending on the passage of wandering leucocytes through the endothelium. Lymphocytes penetrated and were encased in the cytoplasm of the venular endothelial cell, and did not pass through the interendothelial junction. These findings suggest that, in the venules of the atrophied chimeric muscle, wandering leucocytes in the blood may pass through the endothelial cell body and migrate into the inflamed extravascular space. 相似文献

The density of HCFC 141b has been measured at several temperatures between 260 and 320 K, Mid pressures up to 20 MPa, with a mechanical oscillator densimeter. The densimeter was calibrated with 2,2,4-trimethylpentane, whose density was obtained from a correlating cyuation with 0.3% uncertainty. The density data obtained for HCFC 14H) hits a reproducibility of 0.05% and an uncertainty of 0.3%. Within the framework of an EEC project involving ten European laboratories, research on the application of several electric and electromagnetic methods to a geothermal field (Travale, Tuscany), has been undertaken by the B.R.G.M. The objective was to refine the conceptual model of the Travale field and, therefore, to describe the morphology of the basement (down to 2 km depth) and of the Rhaetian reservoir covered by impermeable series.The method best suited to this type of prospection appeared to be electrical dipole — dipole profiling, combined with a 2-D interpretation. Contrasts at more than 2 km depth (500 m long dipoles) could be seen and compared to the depths measured in the boreholes. The EM Melos method (Syscal equipment) should be improved (lower frequencies) to increase the depth penetration. It is, however, a good complementary method for the surface layers. An attempt at a computational interpretation of the self potential profiles gave promising results. To make full advantage of the bipole — dipole measurements efforts should be devoted to their computational interpretation. 相似文献
