This paper presents a low‐cost RF parameter estimation technique using a new RF built‐in self‐test (BIST) circuit and efficient DC measurement for 4.5 to 5.5 GHz low noise amplifiers (LNAs). The BIST circuit measures gain, noise figure, input impedance, and input return loss for an LNA. The BIST circuit is designed using 0.18 μm SiGe technology. The test technique utilizes input impedance matching and output DC voltage measurements. The technique is simple and inexpensive.  相似文献

When quadrature error exists, the shape of the M‐ary phase shift keying (MPSK) signal constellation becomes skewed‐elliptic. Each MPSK symbol takes on a different symbol error probability (SEP) value. The analytical results presented thus far have been derived from studies which examined the SEP problem assuming that the SEP of each MPSK symbol is equally likely; therefore, those results should not be treated as offering a complete solution. In this letter, we present a new and more complete solution to the SEP problem of MPSK by relaxing the above assumption and finding the expressions for the average as well as individual SEP in the presence of quadrature error.  相似文献

In order to evaluate exactly the performance of some diversity schemes, the probability density function (pdf) of a sum of independent exponential random variables (r.v.'s) must be known. This paper proposes a simple method to find it by using characteristic function., The resultant pdf is successfully applied to formulate the closed-form BER expression of 2 Tx-J Rx transmit diversity as well as the outage probability of repetition coding.  相似文献

Linearized microring-loaded Mach-Zehnder modulator with RF gain   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
A linearized modulator based on the Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) loaded with a second-order allpass microring resonator is proposed and analyzed. The device is shown to exhibit much smaller intermodulation distortion than standard Mach-Zehnder modulators, thus greatly enhancing the device dynamic range. Gain effect associated with the microring resonance results in a modulator transfer function with high slope efficiency and large RF gain. Moreover, combined with the use of a highly electrooptic polymer, the high slope efficiency allows for the possibility of realizing modulators with subvolt drive voltage. The detrimental effect of loss in the microring resonators on device performance is also investigated and a design approach to mitigate its effect is presented. The proposed modulator can be linearized to any arbitrary nth order by loading the MZI with a higher order allpass microring resonator.  相似文献

Transient thermal analysis of sapphire wafers subjected to thermal shocks   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Rapid heating and cooling are commonly encountered events in integrated circuit processing, which produce thermal shocks and consequent thermal stresses in wafers. The present paper studies the heat transfer in sapphire wafers during a thermal shock as well as the dependence of the wafer temperature on various process parameters. A three-dimensional finite-element model of a single sapphire wafer was developed to analyze the transient heat conduction in conjunction with the heat radiation and heat convection on the wafer surfaces. A silicon wafer was also investigated, for comparison. It was found that the rapid thermal loading leads to a parabolic radial temperature distribution, which induces thermal stresses even if the wafer is not mechanically restrained. The study predicted that for sapphire wafers the maximum furnace temperature of 800 /spl deg/C should be held for two hours in order to get a uniform temperature throughout the wafer.  相似文献

An analog of a quantum search method, known as Grover's algorithm, is modeled without entanglement on the macroscopic level, using numerical simulation of microwave devices and methods. An array of microstrip annular-ring resonators simulates a quantum bit array. An oracle that performs a test to determine which element in the array is the answer to the search algorithm is provided by a microwave-frequency plane wave, modulated by a Gaussian pulse. A single annular ring with a resonant frequency identical to the frequency of the incident pulse serves as the answer to the search. It is shown that the number of Gaussian pulses needed to identify the answer element is equal to the radicN iterations predicted by the Grover algorithm. The decay in a microwave-resonator element is used to show that the quantum dual - a spontaneous decay of the excited energy level of a quantum bit, also described as its decoherence - can be a serious obstacle to the development of large quantum-bit data arrays  相似文献

The surface of layered double hydroxide nanoparticles, a potential drug‐delivery nanovehicle, is modified with the cancer‐cell‐specific ligand, folic acid. The surface modification is successfully accomplished through step‐by‐step coupling reactions with aminopropyltriethoxysilane and 1‐ethyl‐3‐(3‐dimethyl aminopropyl)‐carbodiimide. In order to evaluate the cancer‐cell targeting effect of folic‐acid‐grafted layered double hydroxide utilizing fluorescence‐related assay, both layered double hydroxide with and without folic acid moiety are labeled with fluorescein 5′‐isothiocyanate. The uptake of layered double hydroxide and folic acid conjugated into KB and A549 cells is visualized using fluorescence microscopy and measured by flow cytometry. Both chemical and biological assay results demonstrate that the folic acid molecules are indeed conjugated to the surface of layered double hydroxide and thus the selectivity of nanovehicles to cancer cells overexpressing folate receptors increases. In this study, it is suggested that layered double hydroxide nanoparticles can be used as drug‐delivery carriers with a targeting function due to the chemical conjugation with specific ligand.  相似文献

A polymeric nanoparticle comprised of surface furan groups is used to bind, by Diels–Alder (DA) coupling chemistry, both targeting anti‐human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (anti‐HER2) antibodies and chemotherapeutic doxorubicin (DOX) for targeted, intracellular delivery of DOX. In this new approach for delivery, where both chemotherapeutic and targeting ligand are attached, for the first time, to the surface of the delivery vehicle, the nuclear localization of DOX in HER2‐overexpressing breast cancer SKBR‐3 cells is demonstrated, as determined by confocal laser scanning microscopy. Flow cytometric analysis shows that the conjugated DOX maintains its biological function and induces similar apoptotic progression in SKBR‐3 cells as free DOX. The viable cell counts of SKBR‐3 cancer cells following incubation with different nanoparticle formulations demonstrates that the combined DOX and anti‐HER2 nanoparticle is more efficacious than the nanoparticle formulation with either DOX or anti‐HER2 alone. While free DOX shows similar cytotoxicity against both cancerous SKBR‐3 cells and healthy HMEC‐1 cells, the combined DOX‐anti‐HER2 nanoparticle is significantly more cytotoxic against SKBR‐3 cells than HMEC‐1 cells, suggesting the benefit of nanoparticle‐conjugated DOX for cell type‐specific targeting. The DOX‐conjugated immuno‐nanoparticle represents an entirely new method for localized co‐delivery of chemotherapeutics and antibodies.  相似文献

High efficiency red phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes have been developed using a spirobenzofluorene type phosphine oxide (SPPO2) as a host material. The SPPO2 had a high glass transition temperature of 119 °C and a smooth surface morphology with a surface roughness less than 1 nm. The red device with the SPPO2 as a host showed a quantum efficiency of 14.3% with a current efficiency of 20.4 cd/A.  相似文献

β-Ga2O3 nanobelts were synthesized using a vapor transport process in a controlled ambient. Structural characterization revealed that the as-synthesized samples consisted of monoclinic β-Ga2O3 nanobelts, and the presence of gallium-associated defects was verified using cathodoluminescence (CL). The formation of gallium-associated defects was explained by the insufficiency of the supply of cations, generating gallium vacancies on the (010) facet during growth. Furthermore, field-emission measurements indicated that β-Ga2O3 nanobelts exhibited defect-related electron emission. The turn-on fields of β-Ga2O3 nanobelts increased significantly with the degree of structural defects. For a sample prepared under 15% ambient oxygen, Fowler–Nordheim (F–N) analysis revealed two distinct field-enhancement factors of 1194 and 276, respectively. A correlation between field emission and structural defects was proposed. The experimental results demonstrate the presence of gallium-associated defects, which behave as electron traps, degrading the electron field-emission properties of β-Ga2O3 nanobelts.  相似文献
