ZnO is a very promising material for spintronics applications, with many groups reporting room-temperature ferromagnetism in films doped with transition metals during growth or by ion implantation. In films doped with Mn during pulsed laser deposition (PLD), we find an inverse correlation between magnetization and electron density as controlled by Sn-doping. The saturation magnetization and coercivity of the implanted single-phase films were both strong functions of the initial anneal temperature, suggesting that carrier concentration alone cannot account for the magnetic properties of ZnO:Mn and factors such as crystalline quality and residual defects play a role. Plausible mechanisms for ferromagnetism include the bound magnetic polaron model or exchange that is mediated by carriers in a spin-split impurity band derived from extended donor orbitals. The progress in ZnO nanowires is also reviewed. The large surface area of nanorods makes them attractive for gas and chemical sensing, and the ability to control their nucleation sites makes them candidates for microlasers or memory arrays. Single ZnO nanowire depletion-mode metal-oxide semiconductor field effect transistors exhibit good saturation behavior, threshold voltage of ∼−3 V, and a maximum transconductance of 0.3 mS/mm. Under ultraviolet (UV) illumination, the drain-source current increased by approximately a factor of 5 and the maximum transconductance was ∼5 mS/mm. The channel mobility is estimated to be ∼3 cm2/Vss, comparable to that for thin film ZnO enhancement mode metal-oxide semiconductor field effect transistors (MOSFETs), and the on/off ratio was ∼25 in the dark and ∼125 under UV illumination. The Pt Schottky diodes exhibit excellent ideality factors of 1.1 at 25°C, very low reverse currents, and a strong photoresponse, with only a minor component with long decay times thought to originate from surface states. In the temperature range from 25°C to 150°C, the resistivity of nanorods treated in H2 at 400°C prior to measurement showed an activation energy of 0.089 eV and was insensitive to ambient used. By contrast, the conductivity of nanorods not treated in H2 was sensitive to trace concentrations of gases in the measurement ambient even at room temperature, demonstrating their potential as gas sensors. Sensitive pH sensors using single ZnO nanowires have also been fabricated.  相似文献

We described a method for the simultaneous determination of preservatives including benzoic acid, methyl-, ethyl- and propyl-benzoate by micellar electrokinetic capillary chromatography (MECC). The factors affecting the reproducibility in the quantitative analysis of pharmaceuticals by MECC were investigated by varying the running buffer and washing condition in-between runs. Preservatives in liquid formula medicines have been determined by optimum MECC condition using p-hydroxy benzoic acid as an internal standard. The reproducibility of this method was acceptable as a validate method for the quality control of pharmaceuticals (RSD < 2%). Routine quantitative analysis of pharmaceuticals using MECC could be possible with well characterized reproducible procedure.  相似文献

Titanium implants and BMP-7 in bone: an experimental model in the rabbit   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
This study evaluates the effect of rhBMP-7/OP-1 on the osseointegration of commercially pure titanium implants in an experimental implant model in rabbits. Threaded titanium implants with two transverse parallel canals were inserted in the femur and tibia of rabbits. The canals were filled with, 10 g of BMP-7/collagen carrier, pure collagen carrier or were left empty as a control. The stiffness of the implant fixation was evaluated by Resonance Frequency Analysis (RFA) at baseline and four weeks postoperativly. Percentage of bone ingrowth in the canals was measured on microradiographs. Histomorphometry along the threaded part of the implants was performed on 15 m thin sections. The results from the RFA demonstrated a higher mean value for the BMP-7 treated implants in the tibia than the carrier treated implants but not compared to the control implants. The control implants in the tibia demonstrated more bone ingrowth in the upper canal than to the carrier or the BMP-7 treated implants. Apart from these differences there were no significant effects of BMP. In this study BMP-7 did not contribute to any substantially improved bone anchorage of titanium implants.  相似文献

This paper presents new techniques to evaluate the energy and delay of flip-flop and latch designs and shows that no single existing design performs well across the wide range of operating regimes present in complex systems. We propose the use of a selection of flip-flop and latch designs, each tuned for different activation patterns and speed requirements. We illustrate our technique on a pipelined MIPS processor datapath running SPECint95 benchmarks, where we reduce total flip-flop and latch energy by over 60% without increasing cycle time.  相似文献

Abstract

Pairs trading is an instance of statistical arbitrage that relies on heavy quantitative data analysis to profit by capitalising low-risk trading opportunities provided by anomalies of related assets. A key element in pairs trading is the rule by which open and close trading triggers are defined. This paper investigates the use of time series regression to define the rule which has previously been identified with fixed threshold-based approaches. Empirical results indicate that our approach may yield significantly increased excess returns compared to ones obtained by previous approaches on large capitalisation stocks in the Korean equities market.  相似文献

AISI304 steel welded joints are used in cold‐stretched liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage tanks used for storing and transporting of liquefied gases. Compared with a conventional liquefied natural gas storage tank, a cold‐stretched liquefied natural gas storage tank has many advantages such as reduced thickness, light weight, low cost and low energy consumption. However, liquefied natural gas storage tanks can be subjected to alternative loads at cryogenic temperatures; thus, it is important to investigate the fatigue crack propagation behavior in AISI 304 steel welded joints at cryogenic temperatures. Specimens were machined from a cold‐stretched liquefied natural gas storage tank with a welding structure. The crack length was determined using compliance method and confirmed by examination with traveling microscope. Fatigue crack propagation rates were evaluated at various stress ratios and temperatures. The fatigue crack growth rate of all specimens a little appears the effect of stress ratio, but it has a great influence at a cryogenic temperature. The fatigue crack growth rate of longitudinal welded joint is the fastest at room and cryogenic temperature. Fracture mechanism in the specimen is examined using a scanning electron microscope.  相似文献

This work proposes a highly efficient sensorless motor driver chip for various permanent‐magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) in a wide power range. The motor driver chip is composed of two important parts. The digital part is a sensorless controller consisting mainly of an angle estimation block and a speed control block. The analog part consists of a gate driver,which is able to sense the phase current of a motor. The sensorless algorithms adapted in this paper include a sliding mode observer (SMO) method that has high robust characteristics regarding parameter variations of PMSMs. Fabricated SMO chips detect back electromotive force signals. Furthermore, motor current–sensing blocks are included with a 10‐bit successive approximation analog‐to‐digital converter and various gain current amplifiers for proper sensorless operations. Through a fabricated SMO chip, we were able to demonstrate rated powers of 32 W, 200 W, and 1,500 W.  相似文献

The characteristics and growth behaviors of alumina dielectric layer formed by anodic oxidation were investigated. The aluminum oxide layer anodized at 400 V was predominantly amorphous alumina, but at the applied potentials more than 500 V, amorphous and crystalline γ-alumina were existed in anodic oxide layer and the ratio of γ-alumina increased with the increasing applied potential. During the heat treatment at 600°C or higher temperature, amorphous alumina layer was transformed into the crystalline γ-alumina. The phase transition of anodic amorphous alumina into crystalline depends on anodic applied potentials and heat-treatment temperatures.  相似文献

Tumor-associated (TA) autoantibodies have been identified at the early tumor stage before developing clinical symptoms, which holds hope for early cancer diagnosis. We identified a TA autoantibody from HBx-transgenic (HBx-tg) hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) model mouse, characterized its target antigen, and examined its relationship to human HCC. The mimotopes corresponding to the antigenic epitope of TA autoantibody were screened from a random cyclic peptide library and used for the detection of serum TA autoantibody. The target antigen of the TA autoantibody was identified as an oncogenic bi-functional purine biosynthesis protein, ATIC. It was upregulated in liver cancer tissues of HBx-tg mouse as well as human HCC tissues. Over-expressed ATIC was also secreted extracellularly via the cancer-derived exosomes, which might cause auto-immune responses. The cyclic peptide mimotope with a high affinity to anti-ATIC autoantibody, CLPSWFHRC, distinguishes between serum samples from HCC patients and healthy subjects with 70.83% sensitivity, 90.68% specificity (AUC = 0.87). However, the recombinant human ATIC protein showed a low affinity to anti-ATIC autoantibody, which may be incompatible as a capture antigen for serum TA autoantibody. This study indicates that anti-ATIC autoantibody can be a potential HCC-associated serum biomarker and suggests that autoantibody biomarker’s efficiency can be improved by using antigenic mimicry to native antigens present in vivo.  相似文献
