This paper presents a channel reservation and preemption (CRP) model using overlapping regions in a cellular network with multiple sectors. To fully exploit and reuse the frequencies, directional antennas are installed on base stations (BSs) to divide the coverage into a number of equal‐sized sectors. When traffic is unevenly distributed across the sectors in a BS, channel utilization in every sector may become very different; low‐traffic sectors may be underutilized while high‐traffic sectors may be overutilized. A CRP scheme is thus proposed to more efficiently utilize free channels among sectors. CRP aims at reducing the dropping probabilities of handoff calls. Specifically, when free channels in a sector are not available, a handoff call, instead of being dropped, is allowed to preempt an ongoing call residing in the overlapping region of two adjacent sectors or two neighbor cells. Under CRP, the preempted ongoing call will not be disconnected, because it can switch over its service to the BS of a neighbor cell or to another directional antenna of an adjacent sector. For the purpose of evaluation, we build an analytical model for the proposed CRP using six‐tuple Markov chains. Analytical results show that the proposed CRP can significantly reduce the dropping probabilities of inter‐sector handoff calls, particularly when traffic between two sectors is not evenly distributed. β-Fructofuranosidase (EC 3.2.1.26) in Aspergillus japonicus mycelium was immobilized by entrapment in calcium alginate gel. After immobilization, the enzyme was active over a wider pH range, and had improved thermostability. The total amount of fructooligosaccharides produced by immobilized enzyme was similar to that produced by a free enzyme system. A packed-bed reactor was employed for production of fructooligosaccharides at 42°C using the immobilized enzyme. The reactions were continued for 35 days and only 17% of enzyme activity was lost during this period.  相似文献

Kevlar 49 fibers were surface-modified by NH3-, O2-, and H2O-plasma etching and chlo-rosulfonation and subsequent reaction with some reagents (glycine, deionized water, eth-ylendeiamine, and 1-butanol) to improve the adhesion to epoxy resin. After these treatments, the changes in fiber topography, chemical compositions of the fiber surfaces, and the surface functional groups introduced to the surface of fibers were identified by SEM, XPS, and static SIMS. Interlaminar shear strength (ILSS) and T-peel strenght between the fiber and opoxy resin, as measured by the short-beam test and T-peel test, were remarkedly improved by gas plasma and chlorosulfonation (0.1% and 0.25% CISO3H at 30 s). However, from the results of similar GIC values of the treated and untreated fiber composites, it is clear that the fiber/matrix interfacial bond strength is only a minor contributor to GIC. SEM was also used to study the surface topography of the fracture surfaces of composites in T-peel test. It could be seen from SEM observations that the improvement of fiber/matrix interfacial bond strength often accompanied a change in fracture mode from the interface of fiber/epoxy resins to the fiber fibrillation and the resins. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

An efficient frequency domain relaxation frequency pseudocircuit (RPC) approach is proposed and the associated solvability conditions are derived for analogue fault diagnosis. In this approach all the elements in the circuit are described by the associated relaxation models and the solution of the RPC is obtained iteratively by the phaseor technique. Consequently the diagnostic process is unified in the frequency domain and both the development of the theory and the implementation for practical application are made easier via this unified approach. Besides, both the order of the RPC and the measurement cost are reduced. This is useful especially when a high-Q network is involved or the solution is hard to obtain in the time domain. Two examples are illustrated to show the efficacy of the proposed method.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to analyse the composition of okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L.) extract and investigate the effect of A. esculentus L. polysaccharides (AE-PS) on the maturation and function of dendritic cells (DCs) derived from rat bone marrow hematopoietic cells (BMHCs) in vitro. BMHC-derived immature DCs (BMHC-imDCs) were extracted from rats and treated with AE-PS. The hydrolysed okra extract contained 0.6% β-1, 3-d-glucan. AE-PS induced the presence of polymorphic nuclei and elongated protrusion in the BHMC-imDCs, indicating DC activation. Treatment with100 μg/mL of AE-PS increased the MHC class II and CD80/86 expression levels by 41% and 42%, respectively. Treated cells had reduced endocytosis activity. The secretion of IL-12 and IFN-γ increased significantly by 120% and 75%, respectively, when treated with 100 μg/mL of AE-PS. Moreover, IL-10 production was reduced by 66%. In conclusion, AE-PS exhibits stimulatory effects on rat dendritic cells and promotes the secretion of TH1 cytokines.  相似文献

Abstract

Numerical calculations are reported for the transient cooling of a solidified intrusion embedded in a water-saturated porous layer. Heat transfer rates are increased greatly when the intrusion undergoes thermal cracking as it cools. The effects of a uniform heat flux into the porous layer from below are considered. Solutions are obtained for porous layers that are initially above or below the critical-layer Rayleigh number for thermal convection. For conditions considered in this study, the effects on the cooling intrusion of initial convection and layer aspect ratio are small. Results are correlated by scaling velocities with the intrusion Rayleigh number.  相似文献

Seidel aberration coefficients can be expressed by Zernike coefficients. The least-squares matrix-inversion method of determining Zernike coefficients from a sampled wave front with measurement noise has been found to be numerically unstable. We present a method of estimating the Seidel aberration coefficients by using a two-dimensional discrete wavelet transform. This method is applied to analyze the wave front of an optical system, and we obtain not only more-accurate Seidel aberration coefficients, but we also speed the computation. Three simulated wave fronts are fitted, and simulation results are shown for spherical aberration, coma, astigmatism, and defocus.  相似文献

This paper proposes an approach that can roughly cluster a data set with fuzzy linguistic entries as a prior data arrangement for performance evaluation of R&D employees. The extension principles of fuzzy linguistic numbers are used to modify the K‐means method for handling the linguistic data set. We define the absolute difference of fuzzy linguistic variables as their fuzzy distance. Based on this definition, the K‐means approach can be modified slightly for clustering purposes. The performance of employees engaged in designing and R&D‐oriented jobs is possibly related to some qualitative attributes and the evaluation of such attributes for each employee has a tendency toward semantic scales. In the proposed approach, the supervisor can evaluate the performance of each employee directly with a semantic scale. The modified K‐means approach can roughly cluster their performance into different classes in advance of applying some other sophisticated processes.  相似文献

Distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) and charge asymmetric resonance tunneling (CART) structures were applied to nitride-based green light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to enhance their output efficiency It was found that we can reduce the forward voltage at 20 mA from 3.7 to 3.2 V with the inclusion of CART structure. It was also found that the electroluminescence peak wavelength of the CART LED is less sensitive to the amount of injection current. The output power and external quantum efficiency of the CART LED with DBR structure measured at 20 mA can reach 7.2 mW and 11.25%, respectively  相似文献
