We present a method to fabricate handcrafted thermoelectric devices on standard office paper substrates. The devices are based on thin films of WS2, Te, and BP (P-type semiconductors) and TiS3 and TiS2 (N-type semiconductors), deposited by simply rubbing powder of these materials against paper. The thermoelectric properties of these semiconducting films revealed maximum Seebeck coefficients of (+1.32 ± 0.27) mV K−1 and (−0.82 ± 0.15) mV K−1 for WS2 and TiS3, respectively. Additionally, Peltier elements were fabricated by interconnecting the P- and N-type films with graphite electrodes. A thermopower value up to 6.11 mV K−1 was obtained when the Peltier element were constructed with three junctions. The findings of this work show proof-of-concept devices to illustrate the potential application of semiconducting van der Waals materials in future thermoelectric power generation as well as temperature sensing for low-cost disposable electronic devices.  相似文献

This document shows that the proof of Theorem 3.3 in the work of Liu et al (Int J Robust Nonlinear Control. 2015. 10.1002/rnc.3108) is incorrect and, thus, the theorem is not proved. Since the results of the paper are strongly based on this theorem, the problem has to be addressed. If a natural correction is introduced, the problem still holds. Therefore, a new linear matrix inequality is proposed here to show its equivalence with the stochastic stability of a Markov jump linear singular system under a similar assumption as that in the work of Liu et al.  相似文献

This paper aims at designing a contour tracking scheme based on an adaptive velocity field formulation, for the case of uncertain nonholonomic (differential drive) mobile robots, with its dynamic controller. First, to handle kinematic uncertainties that deviate the map of the velocity field into wheel velocities, a linear parameterization of the uncertain Jacobian operator is proposed to synthesize an adaptive kinematic controller that shapes correctly the velocity field. Then, a robust model‐free dynamic controller is proposed to compensate in finite time for uncertain dynamics and disturbances, enforcing the kinematic reference. Finally, a representative simulation study is discussed to show the reliability of the proposed scheme.  相似文献

Bacterial infections affect about 1 in 5 patients who receive a dental implant within 5 years of surgery. To avoid the implant rejection it is necessary for the development of innovative biomaterials, with addition or substitution of the ions, for implant coatings that promote a strong bond with the new host bone and antibacterial action. The objective of this work was to synthesize a bioactive glass with different silver concentrations to evaluate their antibacterial performance. The glasses were synthesized with up to 2% silver content by melt-quenching. Structural, morphological, biological, and electrical properties of all samples were studied. The biological behavior was evaluated through cytotoxicity tests and antibacterial activity. The structural analysis shows that the introduction of silver do not promote significant changes, not altering the advantageous properties of the bioglass of the bioglass. It was verified that the glasses with a silver content from 0.5% to 2%, completely prevented the growth of both Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli while being nontoxic toward mammalian cells. Therefore, these bioglasses are promising materials to be used in the production of dental implants with antimicrobial activity.  相似文献

Temperature‐sensitive polyaspartamide obtained by the aminolysis reaction of polysuccinimide with isopropylamine has been proposed as a good material for biomedical applications. The polymer is susceptible to hydrolysis producing carboxyl groups; thus the temperature‐sensitive behavior of the polymer depends on pH. A set of polyaspartamides was synthesized with different degrees of hydrolysis (DH) and substitution (DS). The influence of DH, DS and pH on the lower critical solution temperature (LCST) of the polyaspartamides was studied. The LCST of the polyaspartamides increases as the pH increases and at the same pH the polymer with higher DH presents a higher LCST. Also, at the same pH an increment in the DS produces a decrease in the LCST. These tendencies are explained by the presence of a carboxylate group on the polyaspartamide structure. The behaviors can be tailored as functions of DS and DH enabling the use of temperature‐sensitive polyaspartamide in different biomedical applications where pH and/or temperature changes will trigger a drug delivery. © 2018 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

The fatty acid (FA) profile of oysters generally reflects the dietary FA composition. Moreover, incorporation of FA into tissues is modulated by various metabolic factors, and final composition will depend upon the dietary sources, cumulative intake, and oysters' development stage. Thus, the aim of this study was to assess the impact of dietary incorporation of seaweed (SW) Ulva rigida, in replacement of traditional microalgae diet, on the FA composition of Pacific oysters Crassostrea gigas, during broodstock conditioning. The dietary conditioning consisted of direct replacement of microalgae (33% Tisochrysis lutea, 50.25% Skeletonema costatum, and 16.75% Chaetoceros calcitrans) by SW at four different substitution levels (0%, 25%, 50%, and 100% diet). The dietary docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) (22:6n-3) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) (20:5n-3) contents showed a positive correlation with the dietary microalgae level. During the trial, oysters fed with higher percentages of microalgae revealed a depletion of DHA and accumulation of EPA. The 100% SW caused a significant reduction in oxygen consumption and, consequently, in the standard metabolic rate. Based on these results, a partial substitution of up to 25% of dietary microalgae seems to be a suitable alternative, because it elicited similar results to the commercial 100% microalgae diet.  相似文献

Two different fractal regression methodologies were employed with the aim of understanding the relationship between prices of ethanol produced in the USA and Brazil, the most important producers of ethanol. These methodologies, which have the advantage of giving us information about the relationships between different timescales, could also provide interesting and important information about this particular market. Our results suggest, first, some differences in the basic price in these markets, and second, a positive relationship between prices (as expected) but not a one-to-one relationship. © 2021 Society of Chemical Industry and John Wiley & Sons, Ltd  相似文献
