The effect of oral administration, for 24 or 48 hr, of different octadeca fatty acids containing a 9,12-dienoic structure
on the fatty acid composition and Δ9 desaturation activity of liver microsomes of rat fed a fat-free diet was studied. The
ethyl esters of linoelaidic and γ-linolenic acids, the methyl ester of linoleic acid and free columbinic acid were administered
to rats maintained on a fat-free diet. The supplementation of the fat-free diet with linoelaidate produced no relevant changes
in the fatty acid composition pattern of liver microsomes and did not modify the percentage of conversion of palmitic to palmitoleic
acid. The addition of linoleate or γ-linolenate to the fat-free diet returned liver microsome Δ9 desaturation activity toward
the control and partially restored the liver microsome fatty acid spectrum found in the fat-free diet. Columbinic acid (5-trans-9-cis,12-cis-18∶3), which cannot be transformed into arachidonic acid, also decreased the Δ9 desaturation activity enhanced by the fat-free
diet and evoked changes in the microsomal fatty acid composition similar to those produced by the ω6 fatty acids. These results
suggest that the modulation of Δ9 desaturase activity evoked by dietary administration of unsaturated acids of ω6 series would

Prior to fertilization, mammalian sperm must undergo the acrosome reaction, which involves modifications of the plasma and
outer acrosomal membranes followed by vesiculation and release of the membranes. The membrane fraction that was released from
caudal boar sperm undergoing an in vitro acrosome-like reaction was isolated and characterized with respect to density, marker
enzymes and lipid composition. This membrane had a lower phospholipid/protein ratio (mg/mg) than the sperm plasma membrane,
whereas both membranes had similar molar sterol/phospholipid ratios. The major phospholipid was sphingomyelin, followed by
phosphatidylethanolamine and phosphatidylcholine, whereas in the plasma membrane the order was reversed; the two major phosphoglycerides
contained alkylacyl and alkenylacyl species in addition to the diacyl species. The released membrane also contained lower
amounts of cholesterol sulfate and unsaturated fatty acids than the plasma membranes. These results, in combination with our
studies on the changes of the sperm membranes during maturation and acrosome reaction, will allow a better understanding of

In this paper, we present a general recommendation framework able to uniformly manage heterogeneous multimedia data coming from several web repositories and to provide context-aware recommendation techniques supporting intelligent multimedia services for the users—i.e. dynamic visiting paths for a given environment. With the advent of low-cost 3D sensors and 3D printers, scene and object 3D surface reconstruction has become an important research topic in the last years. In this work, we propose an automatic (unsupervised) method for 3D surface reconstruction from raw unorganized point clouds acquired using low-cost 3D sensors. We have modified the growing neural gas network, which is a suitable model because of its flexibility, rapid adaptation and excellent quality of representation, to perform 3D surface reconstruction of different real-world objects and scenes. Some improvements have been made on the original algorithm considering colour and surface normal information of input data during the learning stage and creating complete triangular meshes instead of basic wire-frame representations. The proposed method is able to successfully create 3D faces online, whereas existing 3D reconstruction methods based on self-organizing maps required post-processing steps to close gaps and holes produced during the 3D reconstruction process. A set of quantitative and qualitative experiments were carried out to validate the proposed method. The method has been implemented and tested on real data, and has been found to be effective at reconstructing noisy point clouds obtained using low-cost 3D sensors. 相似文献

Understanding how the search space is explored for a given constraint problem – and how it changes for different models, solvers or search strategies – is crucial for efficient solving. Yet programmers often have to rely on the crude aggregate measures of the search that are provided by solvers, or on visualisation tools that can show the search tree, but do not offer sophisticated ways to navigate and analyse it, particularly for large trees. We present an architecture for profiling a constraint programming search that is based on a lightweight instrumentation of the solver. The architecture combines a visualisation of the search tree with various tools for convenient navigation and analysis of the search. These include identifying repeated subtrees, high-level abstraction and navigation of the tree, and the comparison of two search trees. The resulting system is akin to a traditional program profiler, which helps the user to focus on the parts of the execution where an improvement to their program would have the greatest effect. 相似文献

Configuration fragments developed separately and focusing on different aspects, such as availability, security or performance of a system need to be integrated into a consistent system configuration to avoid system malfunctions. The main challenges of such integration are due to the overlapping entities and the integration relations between the entities of the different configuration fragments. In this paper we propose a model based approach for a consistent integration of configuration fragments into a system configuration. We use and extend the model weaving technique to capture the semantics of the relations between the entities of the configuration fragments. Moreover, we generate automatically the constraints corresponding to these semantic relations to complete the target system configuration profile. Monitoring of cloud computing infrastructures is an imperative necessity for cloud providers and administrators to analyze, optimize and discover what is happening in their own infrastructures. Current monitoring solutions do not fit well for this purpose mainly due to the incredible set of new requirements imposed by the particular requirements associated to cloud infrastructures. This paper describes in detail the main reasons why current monitoring solutions do not work well. Also, it provides an innovative monitoring architecture that enables the monitoring of the physical and virtual machines available within a cloud infrastructure in a non-invasive and transparent way making it suitable not only for private cloud computing but also for public cloud computing infrastructures. This architecture has been validated by means of a prototype integrating an existing enterprise-class monitoring solution, Nagios, with the control and data planes of OpenStack, a well-known stack for cloud infrastructures. As a result, our new monitoring architecture is able to extend the exiting Nagios functionalities to fit in the monitoring of cloud infrastructures. The proposed architecture has been designed, implemented and released as open source to the scientific community. The proposal has also been empirically validated in a production-level cloud computing infrastructure running a test bed with up to 128 VMs where overhead and responsiveness has been carefully analyzed. 相似文献

This work describes a neural network based architecture that represents and estimates object motion in videos. This architecture addresses multiple computer vision tasks such as image segmentation, object representation or characterization, motion analysis and tracking. The use of a neural network architecture allows for the simultaneous estimation of global and local motion and the representation of deformable objects. This architecture also avoids the problem of finding corresponding features while tracking moving objects. Due to the parallel nature of neural networks, the architecture has been implemented on GPUs that allows the system to meet a set of requirements such as: time constraints management, robustness, high processing speed and re-configurability. Experiments are presented that demonstrate the validity of our architecture to solve problems of mobile agents tracking and motion analysis. 相似文献
