The flow-field for reactant distribution is an important design factor that influences the performance of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs). Under-rib convection between neighboring channels has been recognized to enhance the performance of PEMFCs with serpentine flow-fields. This study presents a simple design method to generate multi-pass serpentine flow-fields (MPSFFs) that can maximize under-rib convection in a given cell area. Geometrical characterization indicates that MPSFFs lead to significantly higher under-rib convection intensities and more uniform conditions, such as reactant concentrations, temperature, and liquid water saturation, compared with conventional serpentine flow-fields. The implications of the enhanced under-rib convection due to MPSFFs on the performance of PEMFCs are discussed. 相似文献

The interfacial tensions of immiscible binary blends of poly(dimethyl siloxane) (PDMS) and polybutadiene (PBD) have been determined as a function of molecular weight and temperature. The technique employed for these measurements takes advantage of recent advances in the determination and analysis of pendant fluid drop profiles. The experimental data are compared to the predictions of square gradient theories and theories based on the diffusion equation approach as developed by Helfand and co-workers. Qualitative agreement is obtained with both types of theory when the Flory-Huggins interaction parameter is taken to be comprised of two terms: a temperature independent term of entropic origin; and an enthalpic term that is inversely dependent upon the temperature. 相似文献

As Asian economies have grown rapidly, Asia has become a new leading market of the luxury goods industry. This paper used conjoint analysis (CA) for the optimal design of a luxury brand outlet mall to maximize the customer lifetime value (CLV). This approach complements a simple CA by considering CLV. The proposed approach is then applied to designing a suburban luxury brand outlet mall in Korea, a new concept to Korea. The results indicate that the optimal design for the outlet mall is the medieval European-style mall, with the linkage to Natural Tourism, which consists of the restaurants with delicious food and the stores with similar ratio between masstige and luxury brands. 相似文献

Poly(methyl methacrylate)-grafted polyethylene (PE-g-PMMA) separators were prepared by pre-irradiation grafting technique of methyl methacrylate onto a commercial polyethylene separator. The prepared separators were characterized by using charge/discharge (C/D) cycling test, AC impedance, and thermal stability analyses. Thermal shrinkage (TS) of the PE-g-PMMA separators decreased with an increasing degree of grafting up to 70% above which it was saturated. The PE-g-PMMA separators showed a better oxidation stability on the anode up to 5 V and a better cycle life performance than the original PE separator. These characteristics make the prepared separators suitable for applications in high voltage secondary lithium batteries. 相似文献

Structural evolution during heat treatment of melt spun Ti36Y20Al24Co20 alloy was studied using differential scanning calorimetry, X-ray diffractometry and transmission electron microscopy. The as-melt spun Ti36Y20Al24Co20 specimen showed a hierarchical complex microstructure consisting of Ti-rich and Y-rich amorphous phases and crystallized with two-step process. Crystallization in the phase separated two phase mixture took place in a confined mode due to different thermal stability and complex microstructure, resulting in various nano-scaled microstructural formation ranging from fine distribution of crystalline particles in amorphous matrix to fine distribution of amorphous particles in crystalline matrix. 相似文献

Enhanced matrix-filler adhesion is realized after filler treatment with a surface treatment process. The hydrosol/coupling agent treatment was applied to a wide range of inorganic and organic fillers, and adhesion to a variety of matrix resins was improved. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) was used to determine the locus of failure in the filled systems. The locus of failure shows the relative degree of adhesion between the filler and the polymer matrix. Significant improvement in adhesion in humid environments is also observed. 相似文献

To evaluate the possibility for development of apple wine containing medicinal herbs, we have prepared ‘Fuji’ apple (Malus domestica) wines containing pine (Pinus densiflora Siebold et Zuccarini) needle and hwanggi (Radix Astragali)/mistletoe (Viscum album). Normal apple wine was fermented rapidly, but after 40 days fermentation/maturation, the final ethanol content, pH, total acidity, and contents of sugar/organic acid showed similar levels in 3 kinds of apple wines. In other hands, the total phenols content, antocyanins content, and brightness were higher in apple-pine wine and apple-herb wine than in normal apple wine. Apple-herb wine had higher values in total phenol contents, brightness, free amino acid contents, and quenching activity for ABTS free radicals than normal apple wine, and had similar sensory evaluation values with normal apple wine. Taken together, it is supposed that hwanggi and mistletoe might provide functional components to normal apple wine and might be applied to development of functional apple wines. 相似文献

This study compared patterns of self-disclosure in psychotherapy and marriage. Participants (48 married, current psychotherapy patients, mean age = 42) completed a 101-item Disclosure to Therapist Inventory and a companion measure, a 101-item Disclosure to Spouse Inventory. Results indicated a pattern of greater disclosure to one's therapist in regard to issues involving despair (e.g., feelings of depression), and to one's spouse in regard to procreation and body concerns (e.g., birth control) and values (e.g., feelings about religion, race, or politics). Issues involving sex were infrequently discussed in either context. Discrepancy scores (differences between extent of disclosure and perceived importance) were greater in the spouse condition. Outcome predictors varied by situation, with overall disclosure predicting therapeutic outcome and both overall disclosure and discrepancy scores predicting marital satisfaction. Findings suggest that although there is substantial overlap in issues discussed in these two contexts, certain intimate disclosures are perceived as situation-specific. A novel method for estimating the instantaneous phasor of a fault current signal is proposed for high-speed distance protection
immune to a DC-offset. The method uses a modified notch filter in order to eliminate the fundamental frequency component from
the fault current signal. Since the output of the modified notch filter is the delayed DC-offset, delay compensation results
in the same waveform as the original DC-offset. Subtracting the obtained DC-offset from the fault current signal yields a
sinusoidal waveform, which becomes the real part of the instantaneous phasor. The imaginary part of the instantaneous phasor
is based on the first difference of the fault current signal. Since a DC-offset also appears in the first difference, the
DC-offset is removed from the first difference using the results of the delay compensation. The performance of the proposed
method was evaluated for a–phase to ground faults on a 345 kV 100 km overhead transmission line. The Electromagnetic Transient
Program was used to generate fault current signals for different fault locations and fault inception angles. The performance
evaluation showed that the proposed method can estimate the instantaneous phasor of a fault current signal with high speed
and high accuracy. The paper concludes by describing the hardware implementation of the proposed method on a prototype unit
