Gelatinous polymer matrix microparticles containing silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were prepared by a novel method to obtain quasi non-swelling anti-fouling paint additives with slow-release characteristics. A w/o type dispersion were elaborated with the aqueous phase of gelatin, urea, silver-nitrate and formaldehyde dispersed in linseed oil. Gelatin was cross-linked by formaldehyde, together with urea for limiting the swelling of the product. Silver-nitrate was reduced with the assistance of gelatin and formaldehyde into homogenously dispersed AgNPs. The microparticles and embedded AgNPs were visualized by scanning and transmission electronmicroscopy. Encapsulated AgNPs with ∼18 nm crystallite size were identified by X-ray powder diffraction. Characterization of gelatin–urea–formaldehyde polymer matrices was carried out by attenuated total reflectance FTIR spectroscopy. Silver dissolution from microparticles and paints with AgNP-containing microparticles was measured by inductively coupled plasma spectrometer and resulted in highly sustained release, compared to unmodified gelatin microparticles and paints containing uncapsulated silver salts. A 7-month-long fouling experiment run in natural sweetwater media showed that solvent-based acrylic paint with AgNPs-containing gelatinous microparticles as additives offered resistance against biofouling at low Ag-release ratio. 相似文献

Although the slicing of programs written in a high-level language has been widely studied in the literature, relatively few papers have been published on the slicing of binary executable programs. The lack of existing solutions for the latter is really hard to understand since the application domain for slicing binaries is similar to that for slicing high-level languages. Furthermore, there are special applications of the slicing of programs without source code like source code recovery, code transformation and the detection of security critical code fragments. In this paper, in addition to describing the method of interprocedural static slicing of binaries, we discuss how the set of the possible targets of indirect call sites can be reduced by dynamically gathered information. Our evaluation of the slicing method shows that, if indirect function calls are extensively used, both the number of edges in the call graph and the size of the slices can be significantly reduced.Ákos Kiss obtained his M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Szeged in 2000. His research interests include program comprehension, slicing, reverse engineering and compiler optimization. He has published over 60 papers in these areas and was the leader of several software engineering R&D projects. An image can be seen as an element of a vector space and hence it can be expressed in as a linear combination of the elements
of any non necessarily orthogonal basis of this space. After giving a matrix formulation of this well-known fact, this paper
presents a reconstruction method of an image from its moments that sheds new light on this inverse problem. Two main contributions
are presented: (a) the results using the standard approach based on the least squares approximation of the result using orthogonal
polynomials can also be obtained using matrix pseudoinverses, which implies higher control on the numerical stability of the
problem; and (b) it is possible to use basis functions in the reconstruction different from orthogonal polynomials, such as
Fourier or Haar basis, allowing to introduce constraints relative to the bandwidth or the spatial resolution on the image
to be reconstructed.
Judit Martònez received the B.Sc. degree in 1993 and the PhD degree (with honors) in 1998, both in telecommunications engineering from the
Technical University of Catalonia. She developed her research at the Institut de Robútica i Informütica Industrial of the
Spanish High Council for Scientific Research. In 1999 she joined the Computer Vision Center, a R&D center founded by the Autonomous
University of Barcelona and the Autonomous Government of Catalonia. She has been principal researcher of several industrial
and research projects related to computer vision technologies. Her research interests include industrial applications of machine
vision, efficient algorithms for low-level image processing, multiresolution mathematical models, statistical clustering,
pattern classification and inverse problems.
Josep M. Porta received the Engineer Degree in Computer Science in 1994 and the Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence in 2001, both from the
Technical University of Catalonia (UPC). After that, he joined the IAS group of the University of Amsterdam and currently,
he holds a post-doc position at the Institut de Robútica i Informütica Industrial (CSIC-UPC) in Barcelona. He carried research
in legged robots, machine learning, vision-based methods for autonomous robot localization, and computational kinematics.
Federico Thomas is Research Professor at the Spanish Scientific Research Council (CSIC) and director of the Institut de Robútica i Informütica
Industrial (CSIC-UPC), Barcelona, Spain. He received the telecommunications engineering degree in 1984, and the Ph.D. degree
(with honors) in computer science in 1988, both from the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC). In 1991, he won a NATO postdoctoral
scholarship at the University of Massachusetts with the late Prof. Robin Popplestone. In 1999, he was visiting professor,
sponsored by the Autonomous Government of Catalonia, at the Oxford University Computing Laboratory with Prof. Stephen Cameron.
He has been project leader of several national projects financed by the Spanish Committee for Science and Technology (CICYT),
and by local companies such as ENHER, a power generation company now part of ENDESA.
His current research interests are in Geometry and Kinematics with applications to Robotics, Computer Graphics and Computer

The purpose of the current study was to evaluate the usefulness of a radiofrequency (RF) personal exposimeter (dosimeter) for assessing individual RF exposure in an urban environment. Measurements taken by RF personal dosimeter were also compared to preliminary site measurements taken around mobile base stations. The results from personal exposure showed that one third of the participants spent 40–70% of 24 h recording time above the detection limits (0.05 V/m), and half of subjects spent less than 10%. The highest exposure was detected during the traveling period and the lowest in bed at home. Based on our results, we concluded that site measurements cannot be used to accurately determine personal exposure. We also concluded that duration of time exposed to RF levels above the detection limit of the personal dosimeter is a useful exposure metric to compare and contrast individual RF exposure of study subjects. 相似文献

Hydroxyapatite (HAp) was successfully produced by using recycled eggshell. The observed phases of the synthesised materials were dependent on the mechanochemical activation method (ball milling and attrition milling). The structures of the HAp were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and infrared spectroscopy. This paper presents a study of the effect of the low temperature atmospheric helium dielectric barrier discharge(DBD) on the Streptococcus mutans biofilms formed on tooth surface. Pig jaws were also treated by plasma to detect if there is any harmful effect on the gingiva.The plasma was characterized by using optical emission spectroscopy.Experimental data indicated that the discharge is very effective in deactivating Streptococcus mutans biofilms.It can destroy them with an average decimal reduction time(D-time) of 19 s and about 98%of thein were killed after a treatment time of 30 s.According to the survival curve kinetic an overall 32 s treatment time would be necessary to perform a complete sterilization.The experimental results presented in this study indicated that the helium dielectric barrier discharge,in plan-parallel electrode configuration,could be a very effective tool for deactivation of oral bacteria and might be a promising technique in various dental clinical applications. 相似文献

Gastrin-releasing peptide receptors (GRPR) are overexpressed in prostate cancer (PCa). Since bombesin analogue aminobenzoic-acid (AMBA) binds to GRPR with high affinity, scandium-44 conjugated AMBA is a promising radiotracer in the PET diagnostics of GRPR positive tumors. Herein, the GRPR specificity of the newly synthetized [44Sc]Sc-NODAGA-AMBA was investigated in vitro and in vivo applying PCa PC-3 xenograft. After the in-vitro assessment of receptor binding, PC-3 tumor-bearing mice were injected with [44Sc]Sc/[68Ga]Ga-NODAGA-AMBA (in blocking studies with bombesin) and in-vivo PET examinations were performed to determine the radiotracer uptake in standardized uptake values (SUV). 44Sc/68Ga-labelled NODAGA-AMBA was produced with high molar activity (approx. 20 GBq/µmoL) and excellent radiochemical purity. The in-vitro accumulation of [44Sc]Sc-NODAGA-AMBA in PC-3 cells was approximately 25-fold higher than that of the control HaCaT cells. Relatively higher uptake was found in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo in the same tumor with the 44Sc-labelled probe compared to [68Ga]Ga-NODAGA-AMBA. The GRPR specificity of [44Sc]Sc-NODAGA-AMBA was confirmed by significantly (p ≤ 0.01) decreased %ID and SUV values in PC-3 tumors after bombesin pretreatment. The outstanding binding properties of the novel [44Sc]Sc-NODAGA-AMBA to GRPR outlines its potential to be a valuable radiotracer in the imaging of GRPR-positive PCa. 相似文献

Metabolic characteristics of kidney cancers have mainly been obtained from the most frequent clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC) studies. Moreover, the bioenergetic perturbances that affect metabolic adaptation possibilities of papillary renal cell carcinoma (PRCC) have not yet been detailed. Therefore, our study aimed to analyze the in situ metabolic features of PRCC vs. CCRCC tissues and compared the metabolic characteristics of PRCC, CCRCC, and normal tubular epithelial cell lines. The protein and mRNA expressions of the molecular elements in mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) and additional metabolic pathways were analyzed in human PRCC cases compared to CCRCC. The metabolic protein expression pattern, metabolite content, mTOR, and metabolic inhibitor sensitivity of renal carcinoma cell lines were also studied and compared with tubular epithelial cells, as “normal” control. We observed higher protein expressions of the “alternative bioenergetic pathway” elements, in correlation with the possible higher glutamine and acetate consumption in PRCC cells instead of higher glycolytic and mTOR activity in CCRCCs. Increased expression of certain metabolic pathway markers correlates with the detected differences in metabolite ratios, as well. The lower lactate/pyruvate, lactate/malate, and higher pyruvate/citrate intracellular metabolite ratios in PRCC compared to CCRCC cell lines suggest that ACHN (PRCC) have lower Warburg glycolytic capacity, less pronounced pyruvate to lactate producing activity and shifted OXPHOS phenotype. However, both studied renal carcinoma cell lines showed higher mTOR activity than tubular epithelial cells cultured in vitro, the metabolite ratio, the enzyme expression profiles, and the higher mitochondrial content also suggest increased importance of mitochondrial functions, including mitochondrial OXPHOS in PRCCs. Additionally, PRCC cells showed significant mTOR inhibitor sensitivity and the used metabolic inhibitors increased the effect of rapamycin in combined treatments. Our study revealed in situ metabolic differences in mTOR and metabolic protein expression patterns of human PRCC and CCRCC tissues as well as in cell lines. These underline the importance in the development of specific new treatment strategies, new mTOR inhibitors, and other anti-metabolic drug combinations in PRCC therapy. 相似文献

Influence of air temperature on detuning of organ pipes. During winter a lot of pipe organs sound out‐of‐tune. Before playing the organ, the church is heated quite fast. In the organ case different temperature zones arise, and apart from that organ pipes standing in already warm environment are supplied with cold air by the windsystem. In order to examine the influence of blowing cold air into a pipe on its pitch, a model organ was set up in a two room climate chamber at the Fraunhofer‐Institute for Building Physics. Blower and bellows were located in the cold part of the chamber, the windchest with testing pipe was arranged in the warm part. Temperature transients at five different positions in the pipe resonator were measured, the pipe sound was recorded at the same time and finally the fundamental frequency was determined. On several positions in the windsystem temperature sensors were set in order to detect local temperature transients. These experiments were part of a project for the development of climate systems applicable for pipe organs with the purpose of creating a constant temperature distribution in organ cases and inside of windsystems. The detuning of organs and mold growth should be decreased. 相似文献
