Hen liver preparations which desaturate stearic acid at the 9,10 position to form oleic acid have been found to desaturate other saturated fatty acids of carbon chain length from 12 to 20 and 22. The 9,10-monoenoic fatty acid of the same chain length as the substrate fatty acid is the major product formed. Minor amounts of the 10,11- and 11, 12-monoenoic acids are also formed. Maximum desaturation occurred with the C14 fatty acid substrate and with the fatty acids C17 and C18, suggesting the presence of at least two desaturating systems. The cyclopropene fatty acids, sterculic and malvalic acids, inhibited the desaturation of all thefatty acids at the 9,10 position but desaturation at the 10,11 and 11, 12 positions was affected only slightly. The effect is not due to inhibition of the primary activating enzyme, the long chain acyl CoA synthetase. Sterculic acid is a more effective inhibitor than either malvalic acid or sterculyl alcohol, probably because these cyclopropene compounds do not block the desaturating site of the enzyme as completely as sterculic acid.  相似文献

Electrophoretic deposition (EPD) has been gaining increasing interest as an economical and versatile processing technique for the production of novel coatings or films of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) on conductive substrates. The purpose of the paper is to present an up-to-date comprehensive overview of current research progress in the field of EPD of CNTs. The paper specifically reviews the preparation and characterisation of stable CNT suspensions, and the mechanism of the EPD process; it includes discussion of pure CNT coatings and CNT/nanoparticle composite films. A complete discussion of the EPD parameters is presented, including electrode materials, deposition time, electrode separation, deposition voltage and resultant electric field. The paper highlights potential applications of the resulting CNT and CNT/composite structures, in areas such as field emission devices, fuel cells, and supercapacitors.  相似文献

MCM-41- and silica gel-supported MoS2 catalysts were prepared. MCM-41 was synthesized and impregnated with precursor, then activated to obtain the active phase. The sol–gel method was used for providing the SiO2 support as well as for including the catalyst precursors in one single step of preparation. Such catalysts have applications particularly in hydrodesulfurization (HDS) and hydrodenitrogenation (HDN) processes. A comparison of the activities of the catalysts was made. The catalytic activity results showed the method of preparation used in this study was successful in producing very efficient catalysts for the HDS of dibenzothiophene (DBT).A higher selectivity for direct C–S bond cleavage was observed for the MoS2 catalyst supported on SiO2 by the sol–gel method. X-ray diffraction studies showed that the catalysts were poorly crystallized with a very weak intensity of the (002) line of 2H-MoS2.  相似文献

Zeolite formation in Class F fly ash blended cement pastes is under investigation. A Na–P type zeolite and Zeolite Y were synthesized from Class F fly ash and NaOH solution after 2 days of aging at room temperature and 6 days of curing at 80°C. However, no zeolites formed when KOH was used. In additional experiments, a Na–P type zeolite, Zeolite Y, and chabazite developed in cement pastes blended with Class F fly ash and NaOH solution which had been aged 2 days at room temperature and then cured 6 days at temperatures ranging from room temperature to 90°C. Seeding the pastes with natural zeolites was also investigated.  相似文献

Supercritical impregnation of Radiata pine with ethyl acetate and decanal using CO2 as carrier solvent has been studied at pilot plant scale. Radiata pine is one of the most common wood species that is originally from Australia and is widely grown in Spain and Portugal and ethyl acetate and decanal were selected as organic compounds.Some experiences were carried out to obtain the optimal operating conditions for the supercritical impregnation process. Experiments were conducted at pressures of 7–15 MPa, temperatures of 35–50 °C and solvent flow rate between 1.5 and 3.5 kg/h. The results of this study have indicated that the treatment gives much better preservative penetration and retention operating with low pressures (7.5 MPa), low temperatures (close to 35 °C) and moderate CO2 flow rate (3.5 kg/h) in the selected operating range. Moreover, a simple mathematical model of two adjustable parameters (external mass transfer coefficient and partition coefficient) has demonstrated to fit the experimental impregnation curves with reasonable accuracy (average absolute deviation, 3–10%).  相似文献

The chiral phosphazene copolymers {[NP(O2C12H8)]0.9[NP(O2C20H12)]0.1} (1) and {[NP(O2C12H8)]0.9[NP(O2C20H10Br2)]0.1} n (2) [(O2C12H8) = 2,2′-dioxy-1,1′-biphenyl; (O2C20H12) = R-2,2′-dioxy-1,1′-binaphthyl and (O2C20H10Br2) = R-6,6′-dibromo-2,2′-dioxy-1,1′-binaphthyl] were prepared by sequential substitution from [NPCl2] n and the corresponding dihydroxy-biphenyl or binaphthyl reagents in the presence of Cs2CO3 and K2CO3. The reaction of (2) with tBuLi in THF, followed by addition of PPh2Cl and a treatment with SiHCl3/PPh3 to eliminate any oxidized OC6H4P(O)Ph2 groups, gave the phosphine containing copolymer {[NP(O2C12H8)]0.9[NP(O2C20H10[PPh2]2)]0.1} n (3), that was used as a chiral ligand to support [Ru(p-cymene)Cl] complexes. The resulting catalyst was active for hydrogen transfer from isopropyl alcohol to acetophenone but the placement of the Ru centers in the 6,6′-positions of the binaphthoxyphosphazene units induced no enantioselectivity. A Fourier transform infrared spectroscopic procedure was used to analyze 34 edible fats (22 shortenings and 12 vegetable margarines) as neat fats (IRNF) to determine their total trans fatty acid (TFA) content. The sloping baseline was corrected with a reference spectrum based on a nonprocessed olive oil. The calibration was done using seven partially hydrogenated fats with an individual TFA content previously determined by the combination of gas chromatography (GC) with argentation thin-layer chromatography. Taking into account the different absorptivities of various trans isomers, different correction factors were calculated using the calibration standards (0.83 and 1.71 for single trans bonds in both diethylene and triethylene and for trans, trans-diethylene fatty acids, respectively) and applied to calculate the total TFA of samples. Moreover, the samples were converted to their methyl esters and reanalyzed following the same procedure (IRFAME). Differences in TFA content of fats were not found when a t-test was used to compare the results obtained by IRNF vs. either IRFAME or GC, suggesting that IR of neat fats could be used, thus avoiding the need to prepare sample solutions in organic solvents and to prepare fatty acid methyl esters. The mean TFA content (determined by IRNF) of a representative group of Spanish shortenings (22 samples) that varied widely in terms of fat sources, processes, and purposes (bakery, sandwiches, ice cream, coatings, chocolate coverings) was 6.55±11.40%, although more than 54% contained <3% of TFA. Fatty acid composition of shortenings by direct GC using a 100-m polar cyanopolysiloxane capillary column indicated that the mean trans-18∶2 isomer content was 0.58%, ranging from 0.9 to 3.4%. Small amounts of trans-18∶3 isomers (<0.3%) were observed in 18 of the 22 shortenings studied; the maximal value was <2%. The mean value of the fraction saturated+TFA of shortenings was high (59.95±12.73%), including two values higher than 83%.  相似文献

Low-input, sustainable agriculture (LISA) systems can include soil incorporation of residues of weeds and legume cover crop species. However, both seed germination and seedling growth of crops, including cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.), are inhibited by volatile organic compounds emitted by these residues during decomposition. A cotton seedling-growth assay was used to demonstrate that C4 through C9 ketones released by decomposing legume residues significantly inhibited root and shoot elongation, root and shoot fresh and dry weight gain, and cotyledon expansion. Seedling root and shoot water relationships were relatively insensitive to those components of plant residue volatile emissions. Concentration (0.0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, or 2.0M/cm3 sterile greenhouse soil mix) and root-zone temperature (20 or 30°C) altered the activity of the more inhibitory ketones. Molecular weight (carbon chain length), carbon chain branching, and position of the carbonyl group also influenced ketone inhibitory activity.Mention of a commercial or proprietary product does not constitute an endorsement by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.  相似文献

Unsupported cobalt-molybdenum sulfide catalysts were prepared from bimetallic CoMo alkyl precursors by in situ activation during the hydrodesulfurization (HDS) of dibenzothiophene (DBT). The bimetallic CoMo precursors were prepared by reaction of tetraalkylammonium thiomolybdate salts, (R4N)2MoS4 (where R = H, methyl, butyl, pentyl or hexyl), with CoCl2 in water at a Co/Mo molar ratio of 0.3. These catalysts exhibit a Swiss-cheese-like morphology, high surface areas (from 52 up to 320 m2/g), high content of carbon (C/Mo = 2.2-3.3) and type IV adsorption-desorption isotherms of nitrogen. The in situ activation of these tetraalkylammonium thiobimetalate precursors leads to a mesoporous structure with pore size ranging from 2 to 4.5 nm. X-ray diffraction showed that the structure of unsupported cobalt-molybdenum sulfide catalysts corresponds to a poorly crystalline structure characteristic of 2H-MoS2 with low-stacked layers. The nature of the alkyl group strongly affects both the surface area and the HDS activity. The catalytic activity is strongly enhanced when using carbon-containing precursors; the CoMo catalysts prepared by in situ activation of Co/[N(C4H9)4]2MoS4 presents the highest HDS activity. The highest surface area of the catalysts was observed for the CoMo catalyst formed from Co/[N(C6H13)4N]2MoS4.  相似文献

For an autonomous system to perform maintenance tasks in a networking device or a radio base station (RBS), it has to deal with a series of technological challenges ranging from identifying hardware-related problems to manipulating connectors. This paper describes the development of a robot maintenance system dedicated to detect and resolve faulty links caused by unplugged or poorly connected cables. Although the maintenance system relies on four subsystems, we significantly focus on our low-cost and efficient custom gripper solution developed to handle RJ45 Ethernet connectors. To examine our gripper, we conducted three experiments. First, a qualitative questionnaire was submitted to 30 users in the case of the teleoperated scenario of the gripper attached to a robotic arm. Similarly, we also tested the automatic operation mode. The results showed that our system is reliable and delivers a highly efficient maintenance tool in both teleoperated and autonomous operation modes. The practical experiment containing the removal or unplugging of connectors demonstrated our gripper’s ability to adequately handle these, whereas the feedback from the questionnaire pointed to a positive user experience. The automatic test assessed the gripper’s robustness against the continuous operation.
